Home Sweet Gnome and Spring Showers Cards with Rachel and Candice

Hello crafty friends, Rachel here! I hope you are all doing well! I have found that setting aside a few minutes each day to be crafty has helped me to keep some semblance of normalcy during these crazy times. 

I have a slimline card to share with you today that features both the adorable Home Sweet Gnome and Backyard Bugs stamp sets. I love creating slimline cards when I have a bunch of images that I want to use in one card without it looking too crowded. To start, I first stamped all of my images with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink onto a sheet of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I then colored them with Copic Markers, cut them out, and then set them aside to work on my background.

For my background, I trimmed a piece of smooth white card stock to 8.25" x 3.25" and then blended the top section with some Blueprint Sketch and Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide Inks. I then die cut a strip of grass from white card stock using the grass die from the Sunny Sentiments Die Set. Once cut, I then blended it with some Bundled Sage and Mowed Lawn Distress Oxide Inks to give it some color. Next, I stamped my sentiment with Black Ink onto the lower right side of my card and then added everything to my card base with some 3D Foam Adhesive Tape. Lastly, I added both a white and blue trim to my card using colored card stock so that my final card measurement would be 8.5" x 3.5".

Hello fellow Crafters! Candice with you today with a rainbow umbrella rain shaker, slimline style! This interactive card was inspired by a fellow DT member Ashley Ebben, who sent me a rain shaker card that made my day! 

I used a few Sunny Studio products to create my interactive card:

• Spring Showers stamps & coordinating dies
• Fluffy Clouds Border dies
• Comic Strip Speech Bubbles die (sun)

I began with an 8 1/2 x 3 1/2 card base which will fit nicely into your standard size envelopes. For my background, I trimmed a piece of Bristol smooth to fit the card front, inked with black soot, chipped sapphire, faded jeans & blueprint sketch and then splattered with water, white paint & navy shimmer spray.

While that dried, I die cut the stitched clouds, inking the tops lightly with stormy sky and stamped the sentiment on the bottom cloud. Next, I stamped the umbrellas, colored them in rainbow with copic markers, and used the coordinating dies to cut them out.

To create the "rain" element, I adhered a strip of foam tape along the bottom and top of the inked front and marked with a pencil every 1/4" to line up the thread. I then added some 1/4" scor-tape over the foam tape for extra stickiness, adhered the thread on the top, strung the beads and pulled tight to the bottom. As I worked my way across, I added a second strip of scor-tape over the thread to hold it firmly, pressing as I finished each row. 

After I was done with the last one, I added another strip of foam tape on top. This allows the beads to move freely along the card and under the clouds. To put it all together, I added the clouds over the threads and layered the sun and umbrellas with foam tape too.

Designers Choice Cards with Vanessa and Anja

Hello to you! Vanessa here with a fun Spring card to brighten your day! I watched the big bumblebees in our garden this week and wanted to make a bumblebee card. This is what I came up with:

I first covered the front of my card with flower patterned paper from the Spring Fling paper pad. Then I die-cut the Frilly Frames Hexagon from masking paper, adhered it to a panel of white cardstock, inked the panel with yellow and orange Distress Oxide Inks and removed the mask. Now I stamped the sentiment, combined from the "spring" from Cheerful Daisies and the "ha-bee" made with the Phoebe Alphabet. There is no dash in the set, I used the exclamation mark instead. After I had adhered the panel to the card, came the funniest part.

I created a bumble-bee from the Chickie Baby set and the Happy Owl-o-ween set. A bumble-chick or chickie-bee? Whatever! Something cute :) . I stamped the elements, colored them with Copics, fussy-cut the images and assembled the little thing before adhering it to the card with foam tape. Finally, I added yellow and orange Rainbow Droplets to the card.

Hello everyone, Anja here with one more Easter card combining several stamp sets. I turned the Easter eggs from the Chubby Bunny and the Chickie Baby set into balloons with the help of masking and the Floating By Stamps.

First, I did a soft background by sponging Distress Oxide Inks (Squeezed Lemonade, Scattered Straw, Dried Marigold and Worn Lipstick) over self-made stencils that I cut with the Fluffy Clouds Border Dies. I used the stitched rectangle die included in the Frilly Frames Retro Petals set to cut out my panel.

Next, I stamped the bunny in the basket, the balloons as well as the little birdies (Seasonal Tree Stamps) and the fence with grass border (Spring Scenes Stamps) in Memento Tuxedo Black Ink. I colored the images with Copic Markers and cut them out with the coordinating dies. Before adhering the images with foam tape, I stamped the balloon strings and sentiment in VersaFine Onyx Black Ink directly onto my cloud background. I also stamped the word 'bunny' with the Phoebe Alphabet Stamps and fussy cut it out with scissors leaving a small white border.
