Introducing Our Newest Team Member: Amy Yang!

Hello there!  I am so thrilled to introduce you to our newest creative team member today!  Please join me in welcoming Amy Yang to the blog!  I am a huge fan and I just know you will be too (if you aren't already).  :)

Hi there! Amy here and I am so excited to joining the Sunny Studio team! For my first post I wanted to make a card using the adorable images from Froggy Friends stamp set. I love how versatile this set is; you can use it to make cards for almost any occasion.  With Valentine's day around the corner I decided to create a love themed card to share with you today.

First, I trimmed Bristol paper and Masking paper to 4"x 4". Then, I die cut the bottom half of the masking paper with a circle die and used it to mask off areas for ink blending on the Bristol paper. With the blending tool, I applied Distress inks in Broken China and Salty Ocean for the water. I also used Scattered Straw and Picked Raspberry for the skies. I stamped the sentiment from the stamp set using Archival ink.

For the images, I stamped on white card stock, colored it using Copic markers and fussy cut them. Then, I adhered the cut images to the front panel. I used doubled sided foam tape behind the frogs to add dimension. I also added Wink of Stella to the hearts and the flowers to make it sparkle. Lastly, I adhered the front panel to the card base.

Timeless Tulips Garden Card by Lexa

Hello everyone. Lexa here today with a multi-color tulips garden card. It screams spring! I must say that I'm not good at building stamps like this, but once I keep practicing and get used to it, it's really fun and addictive. Timeless Tulips helps you create effortless beautiful flowers in minutes.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Tulip Sunshine Themed Card by Lexa Levana

I start with a piece of 4.25"x 5.5" white cardstock with rounded edges. I blended Tumbled Glass, Peacock Feathers, Shabby Shutters Distress Inks for the background. I stamped my tulips with a bunch of pink, red, purple, yellow and green dye inks for the leaves. I use my acrylic block, and it works just fine.  After I finished stamping all of the elements I die cut all of them together with Timeless Tulips coordinating dies. I must say that I struggled a bit and found it hard to arrange all the tulips together, since I'm not really a flower girl. But, I'm pretty happy with the result.

Do you miss the sunshine after all the snow and winter? This is a great card to give for your special one on an early spring day. I stamped a sentiment from Sunny Sentiments with a blue ink. I finished my card with various size of clear sequins.

Here's a closer look of my card. Look how beautiful the tulips are! Thank you so much for stopping by today. I hope you have an awesome day!

Color Me Happy Rainbow Card With Vanessa

Hi everyone! Vanessa here with a card using Color Me Happy and Color Word Die

Who doesn't like rainbows? Or hearts? On my card, I combined both.

I first inked a scrap of cardstock with various inks and die-cut my word from it. Then I die-cut the word from black cardstock, layered both and adhered it to the card. Now I stamped the rest of the sentiment and the hearts around the focal point. Finally, I adhered matching sequins.

Froggy Friends Valentine's Day Cards With Lindsey

Hi, Lindsey here today sharing a little set of Valentine's Day cards that I created using Froggy Friends. The little frogs in this set are so adorable, and there are so many sentiments to go along with them. I made these cards simple, and they would be great to mass produce for your little's class Valentine's cards. Let's get started on how these cards came together.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Froggy Friends Frog Themed Valentine's Day Card for Kids by Lindsey Sams

To begin, I selected some fun 6x6" Valentine patterned paper. To make the card, I simple cut the 6x6" paper in half and scored it at 3". Next, I cut some smaller stitched squares from white card stock. The white squares are what I did my stamping on. I used red and pink ink to go along with the Valentine theme. On another piece of white card stock, I stamped out my frogs. I colored them red and pink with Copic markers and added some accents with a white gel pen. Once they were colored, I used the coordinating Froggy Friends Dies to cut them out. I attached the white stitched square to the patterned card base using regular adhesive, and I used foam tape to pop the little frogs up on their little scene. That's it!

I think these little frog cards are so adorable and perfect for kids to hand out at school to all their friends. The simple design make them easy to mass produce, but they are still really adorable! I hope you'll try your own set of Valentine's Day cards, and I can't wait to see what you create. Thanks for reading and have a great day!

Turtley Awesome Birthday Card Set with Emily

Sunny Studio Stamps: Turtley Awesome Birthday Cards for Kids by Emily Leiphart.

Today, I'm sharing a duo of cards featuring the Turtley Awesome stamp set and coordinating dies. I wanted to use it on a birthday card, since that's the main theme of the stamp set but I also wanted to use it for a Valentine's Day/love card to show its versatility. It would be fun to create a card with one upside-down turtle and a get well sentiment. Haha!

Here are the cards on their own. Which one do you like better? The adorable turtles were so fun to colour. I could imagine myself colouring a whole bunch in different colours!

I used the Fishtail Banners dies to dry emboss the patterns at the top and bottom of the panels for visual interest since the layout is clean and simple.

I love the little details that distinguish the boy and girl turtle, namely the eyelashes and scalloped shell. Aren't they the cutest turtles you've ever seen? This stamp set may be small but it sure packs a lot!
