City Streets Interactive Spinning Car Card with Lindsey

Hi! Lindsey here today with a fun interactive card using the cool new stamp set City Streets. I loved the little car and scooter in this set, so that took center stage on my card. I wanted the cars to be able to "drive", so let's take a closer look at how I accomplished that. 

I started off with an A2 size stitched rectangle in light blue. Then, I stamped the different buildings from City Streets all over the rectangle in a blue dye ink. I set that aside and cut a large and small stitched circle, the large from grey cardstock and small from white. I stamped and colored five of the little cars in the set. After cutting the cars out with the coordinating die, I adhered them to the large grey circle which I considered the road. I stamped the greeting, scooter and dog on the small white circle. I bent the greeting to follow the line of the circle. 

Once all my pieces were ready, it was time to assemble the card. I pushed a brad through the center of the circle and then through the center of the blue rectangle. This will allow the grey circle with the cars to spin. I then adhered the white circle to the top of the brad. This way, the grey circle can spin, but the white circle stays stationary. I decided that the card needed a little something extra to bring it all together, so I put a red scalloped piece of cardstock behind the blue rectangle panel. That's it!

City Streets: Let's Have some Coffee by Anni

Today's card features the City Street Stamp set. What a great and versatile set!

I started the card by chosing a color scheme from my Copics: I decided to go with shades of lime green, turquoise and aqua. I stamped the café because I knew I wanted to go with the caffee theme. But I also stamped ALL the accessoires, some even twice, so I had a good variation to choose from.

Fo the background I did some inkbending but it became a little bit blotchy. But I arranged the images and realized that it wouldn't occur to someone who don't know.
I arranged the images the way I liked it and stamped the sentiment. For the cardbase I chose a macthing cardstock.

City Streets Fun Street Scene Card with Eloise

Hello everyone, Eloise back here again today to show my card for the new super fun City Streets stamp set and coordinating dies. I love this set so so much, there is such amazing detail on these images and I had so much fun colouring these all up!

To begin my card today I stamped down all my images from the City Streets stamp set on some watercolour paper using some black ink, I also then clear embossed over the images to give it a raised line so it would be easier to contain the watercolour when colouring, since these images are so super small and detailed. I used Peerless Watercolours along with a water brush to colour these images. I love my Peerless Watercolours! Once they were all coloured, I made sure they were all dried and then I used the coordinating dies to cut all these images out. There's even itty bitty dies to cut out the little dog and mail box, how super cute is that!

Once that was done I worked on my background. I used some painters tape to do the masking and also some post it tape to create the hills in the background - I just used my scissors to create that effect since it's super easy and I didn't think much of it would show anyway. I used four Distress Inks to create the different layers also.

Now that all my blending was done I adhered my scene together using flat and dimensional adhesive and popped up the entire panel on a sheet of fun foam and adhered it to a green card base. I decided against adding a sentiment to the front of the card for today, since I loved the scene so much I didn't feel like there was room to add a sentiment. So I'll just stamp the sentiment on the inside when I'm ready to send this card and choose the most fitting one. :)

Guest Designer Spotlight: Cards with Debbie Olson

Hello there!  I'm so excited to welcome Debbie Olson to the blog today.  I have admired her mad coloring skills and great eye for design for years.  I was over the moon excited to meet her for the first time earlier this year and even more thrilled when she agreed to be our special guest!

Good morning!  Debbie Olson here, privileged to be a guest of Sunny Studio today! When Mendi shared her new release, I knew that I’d love playing with it; so today I have cards using the Sweet Shoppe and Sock Hop stamp sets to share.

First up is Sweet Shoppe—so many fun images to color in this set! I couldn’t decide upon just one, so I chose to use three of them, with a clean and simple layout. I colored my images with Copic markers and die-cut them, airbrushed a splash of YR31 to warm up the white background behind the sweet treats, stamped my sentiment, and them used foam tape to pop up the images.

I used the strawberry again on the inside of my card, along with a continuation of the sentiment.

Next is the Sunny Studio Sock Hop stamp set; this set has a TON of possibilities! I chose Cool Cat for my first card, pairing him up with some Lily Bee Design Pinwheel papers.  I stamped the jukebox lightly as a backdrop for Cool Cat, and die-cut both Cool Cat and his guitar to pop up with foam tape in the foreground

Here are the Copics that I used to color Cool Cat.

Finally, I created a “guy card” for someone who loves his Chevys. I had already colored my Sock Hop image before I looked for patterned paper, which turned out not to be such a good idea when I had not a single blue in my stash that went with the blues I had used on my classic car! After several “didn’t quite work” backgrounds, I finally airbrushed a background for my car, using many of the same colors that I had used to color the car. Because I didn’t want the background to compete with the car image, I used a piece of vellum on top of my airbrushed background, gluing it under the car, and also attaching it with the same brads that attached my sentiment panel.

Sweet Shoppe Birthday Wishes Card with Lexa

Hi everyone. Lexa here today with Sweet Shoppe (with coordinating dies) as the star of my card. I fall in love instantly with this set as I'm a sweet tooth myself, I craved for something sweet after I saw all the images. I bet some of you understand how I feel. Hehe.

This card is a very simple one, I started with a 4.25" x 5.5" smooth white cardstock, blended with Squeezed Lemonade and Mustard Seed Distress Inks for the background. Because I needed a "ground" to place my donuts, I cut a strip of plaid patterned paper as the tablecloth. Two donuts have holes on them and the others don't. The trick is I wipe the hole before I stamp the image, easy peasy right? Then I stamped different toppings for each donuts.

For my card I choose the donuts with four different glazing flavors: chocolate, strawberry, mint and vanilla. My favorite will be the mint with crunchy chocolate on it. Yum! I stamped all the images with Versafine Onyx Black ink, watercolor them with Distress Markers after that. I also add some glossy accent to give a real glazing look. Here's a closer look..
