Hello crafty friends, Marine here, I'm happy to be back with this new super duper colorful Christmas card showcasing the lovely Toasty Hugs characters, as well as some of my all time favorite stamps from Scenic Route, and a color palette I've never used on a holiday card before, or even used at all.
As very often, I started off by stamping my images on 110lb Neenah solar white cardstock using an alcohol marker friendly black ink. I cut them all using the matching dies, and colored everything using my Ohuhu markers and Graph'it brush markers.
Here is a detailed list of the stamp sets I used: • Toasty Hugs - boy and girl • Scenic Route - strings of lights, houses • Cozy Christmas - Christmas tree, present • Santa Claus Lane - presents • Reindeer Games - reindeers • Snowmen In Sweaters - snowflakes, trees.
Next I cut a 5,5 x 4,25 inches Strathmore bristol smooth panel that I colored using oxide inks. On the top part I blended some shaded lilac, wilted violet and villainous potion. I splattered water droplets on the sky, and dried the cardstock using a paper towel. I mixed some villainous potion oxide ink with water, and used a slim brush to add splatters to my sky. On the bottom part I applied tumbled glass and peacock feathers oxide inks. I mixed some tumbled glass with water, and used my slim brush again to add splatters on the panel. Next I mixed some copic opaque white ink with water, and added splatters all over my panel, and I did the same with liquid stardust.
Once my panel was dry, I stamped "Wishing you a holly jolly Christmas" from Santa Claus Lane at the bottom of my panel using black versafine ink, and then I attached all the images using 1mm and 2mm foam squares. For the last details, I added highlights on the images using a white gel pen and a dot of glossy accents on all the lights. And I wanted the snow on the trees and roofs to be sparkling, so I added liquid glue on those spots, sprinkled fine glitter, let the glue dry, and then went over the whole panel with a fluffy brush to get rid of the excess glitter.
And that's it! I love how this little scene turned out, this color palette is really gorgeous, isn't it? I hope you like it. Thanks so much for stopping by, and see you next time!
