Hello crafty friends, happy
Thanksgiving! Marine here, I'm thrilled to be back on the blog
with this trio of lovely tags showcasing the adorable seals from Let's
Chill. I love those little guys so much, they're super cute and very fun to
color. I mixed them with the darling characters from Toasty
Hugs, and picked a few additional images from other sets (listed down
below) to create three wintery scenes.
I started off by cutting three Scalloped Square Tags out of Strathmore bristol smooth cardstock. I masked the four edges on each tag using washi tape, leaving the cute stitching details visible, and created a winter landscape on each tag using oxide inks. On the upper part, I applied uncharted mariner to make a night sky, and on the lower part, I applied tumbled glass, but just on the edges, to bring a little bit of color to this snow section. Next I added texture to each background. I splattered water on the sky and dried the panel with a paper towel. I mixed some uncharted mariner oxide ink with water, and added more splatters to the sky using a slim brush. Next I mixed some tumbled glass oxide ink with water, and added splatters to the snow section. I mixed some copic opaque white ink with water and added splatters all over the tag, and then I did the same with liquid stardust. I removed all the washi tape, and put my three tag panels aside to dry.
I stamped my images on 110lb Neenah solar white cardstock using an alcohol marker friendly black ink. I cut them all using the coordinating dies, and colored everything using my Ohuhu markers and my Graph'it brush markers. Here is a detailed list of the stamp sets I used: • Let's Chill - seals • Toasty Hugs - characters • Winter Scenes - igloos • Snowmen In Sweaters - trees, snowflakes.
I attached my images on the tags using 1mm and 2mm foam squares, and added highlights and details using a white gelly roll pen. It's not visible on the pictures, but to make the back of my tags neat and pretty, I cut three Scalloped Squares Tags out of a Polka Dot Parade blue pattern paper, and attached those polka dot tags at the back of my main tags using liquid glue. And to totally complete my panels, I used a Mini Mat & Tag 4 eyelet die to cut three eyelets out of dark blue cardstock, and stuck an eyelet at the top of each tag.
For the greetings, I went for small tags and used Window Quad Square dies to cut the different pieces. I assembled them, silver heat embossed "Warmest winter wishes" from Holiday Hugs on each tag, and attached each small tag to a large tag using dark blue twine. And as a final shiny detail, I added a double white and silver bow on each small tag.
And that's it! Thanks so much for stopping by, and see you next week!
