Snowmen in Sweaters Card with Leanne

Hi there! Leanne here today. I'm sharing an A2 size wintery card featuring the Snowmen in Sweaters stamps. Full disclosure - I was short on time and energy last week to get some cards made (we had the flu going around our house), but I still wanted to produce something eye catching and cute. So for this post, I thought it was a good opportunity to share some of my best tips for creating cards when you may have limited time to do so.

First tip: pattern paper is your friend! For this card I choose to use a tone on tone red gingham (from the Joyful Holiday Paper Pack) as a background mat for my scene panel. Pattern paper is always a quick and easy mat solution... just trim to the size you need and adhere.

Second tip: keep the scene and coloring simple. Coloring snowmen images is just about as quick and easy as it gets. I used a limited color palette and just did some basic coloring with Copics. I had this trio of cuties ready to add to the card in no time.

Third tip: use a big, bold greeting. The greeting I used is included in the Snowmen in Sweaters stamp set and has a coordinating die (bonus!) With this bold greeting and my snowmen trio, my card was nearly finished.

Final tip: to finish add simple embellishments. My go to embellishments are sequins, small die cuts, and twine. It really didn't take long to tie some twine around the gingham paper and add some snowflakes around the greeting. These simple details can add so much interest to any card design.

I hope you will find these tips useful especially for when the hustle and bustle of the holiday season is in full swing.
