Hi crafty friends, Tina here and today we are creating an icy winter scene with the adorable friends from Roly Poly Penguins and their matching dies! This time, I opted for a mini slimline card, and I used a die from my stash to cut a white panel.
To create the background, I masked off the trees from one of the Country Scenes stamps since I only wanted to use the mountain range. That is easy to do, and you get a complete new appearance from your stamp. Filling up the sky part was done with a square stencil from my stash and Picked Raspberry Distress Oxide.
After stamping three adorable penguins, a candy cane and two hats, I colored them and also the mountains with grey, blue, and red Copics. I glued the hats and candy cane in place and looked through my stash for a sentiment that would stretch along the length of the mini slimline card. The Penguin Pals set had the perfect match for what I was looking! I stamped the combined message in Versafine Onyx Black ink directly on the background panel.
Next, I played around with the placement of the three cuties and added some depth to the icy snow they were standing on with different shades of blue copics. Finally, I scattered a bunch of Pure White Jewels in the sky to create a snowy look!
