Hello everyone! Leanne here. Today I'm sharing a 4.5 inch square card design featuring the adorable bear image from Holiday Hugs and a fun way to add a greeting over top a cable knit background.
I love a good textured background on my cards. The only catch is, you can't stamp a greeting onto these types of background. There's an easy solution for this problem ... stamp the greeting onto a die cut banner which can then be adhered anywhere on the background. Sunny Studio has four different banner styles to choose from. The one I'm using for this card is the Brilliant Banner 4 die. The curved banner design fits perfectly right over the bear. I used a Misti to stamp the words onto the banner. I did bend the stamps slightly to match the curve of the banner.
Copic used for coloring: scarf - RV42, R22, G17, G29; bear - N0, N2, N4, N6, R00; mug - G02, G09, G17, E25, R24
Here are the other Sunny Studio supplies used to create this card:
- Stitched Square Die (I used the largest die in the set)
- Cable Knit Embossing Folder (I embossed the texture onto pink card stock, then used a white
pigment ink pad and swiped the pad across the embossed panel. This technique
highlights the raised part of the cable knit design.)
- Holiday Hugs Stamp Set and coordinating dies (for polar bear and mug
images plus warmest winter wishes word stamps)
- Snowflake Circle Frame Die (for snowflake embellishments die cut from white glitter card
stock)

ReplyDeletevery cute - how did you get the white markings on the scarf?
ReplyDeleteHi there! I think Leanne drew small white flicks with a white fine tip gel pen to create a fuzzy look.
