Designer's Choice Cards with Gladys and Alma

Hello friends! Gladys here and I'm back to share a beach theme card using the Tropical Trees Backdrop die. When I saw this die I knew I had to create a beach scene that reminds me of the many beautiful beaches and gorgeous sunsets in Hawaii.

As you know I love creating scenes with cute critters but I also enjoy creating cards using mostly dies. This Tropical Trees Backdrop die is awesome because it has all the elements you need to create amazing scenes with. To start I used the die to cut from Bristol smooth cardstock. I masked the largest negative to create a horizon. For the ocean I used peacock feathers and prized ribbon distress oxide inks. I used a small paint brush with white paint for the shoreline. For the sky, from the center out I used mustard seed, riped persimmon, picked raspberry and villainous potion on the outer edges. For the sand I used vintage photo and antique linen.

Next I die cut the palm trees and stitched frame from black cardstock. I die cut the two largest palm trees twice to give them dimension. I also used the seagull to cut from white cardstock. I colored the outer wings with copic markers. Next I adhered the frame onto a white card base and inlaid all the pieces. This is my favorite part because everything fits like a puzzle and then voila the scene comes together! Finally I stamped Aloha from the Tiki Time stamp set.

Thanks so much for joining me. Have a wonderful day!

Hi, this is Alma and today I´d like to show you a double slider card. It´s an interactive design and it´s not difficult to create such a special card - You can find the tutorial on Youtube.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Critter Campout Card by Alma Störk (featuring Winter Scenes, Spring Scenes)

I used the amazing Critter Campout Stamps. I coloured all the cute critters with copics and cut them out. For my landscape I used the tree from the Seasonal Trees Stamps, the forest from the Winter Scene Stamps and the snowy mountains from the Spring Scenes Stamps. Then I cut them off, too.

For the landscape in the background, I used the Forest Tree Stencil to wipe the background with the Distress Oxide Ink Black Soot. The Sky is coloured with the Distress Oxides Inks Chipped Saphire and Blueprint Sketch. Finally, I assembled all the individual parts!

I wish you a happy summer with a lot of outdoor adventures!

Designer's Choice Cards with Isha and Kavya

Hello everyone, Isha today with a clean and simple baby card. We need plenty of baby cards, especially at this time of the year :)

I started my panel by sponging distress oxide inks in shaded lilac, tumbled glass and salty ocean to create the cloud background. I then die-cut two clouds using the Slimline Nature Border dies. I adhere them to the top and bottom of the panel and added some chunky glitter to the edges. Finally I adhered the panel to a white card base.

I stamped the images from the Baby Elephants stamp, coloured using copic markers and die-cut using the coordinating dies. I then adhered them to the card and stamped the sentiment using the Inside Greetings Congrats stamp.

Thank you for dropping by and have a nice day!

Hi folks, Kavya here. I am back on the blog with another fun project! I rarely use a white background but I decided to challenge myself today and see if I can work with a white background. For today’s card, I only used one stamp set - another first in a long time lol!

Sunny Studio Can't Wait to Sea You Again Punny Ocean Fish Card by Kavya (using Fintastic Friends Stamps)

I first started off by creating a background by ink blending different shades of blue and purple and added a smaller white base on top. Using my Silhouette, I cut the word ‘SEA’ and ink blended it using the same colors as the background. Then, I stamped and colored a bunch of images from Fantastic Friends and arranged the around the word. Finally, I stamped the rest of the sentiment from the set and finished off my card.  :)

That’s it folks! I hope you liked this fun card! Happy Crafting!

Designer's Choice Cards with Catherine and Bobbi

Hello Friends! Catherine here, sharing a card featuring cute sloths “hanging out” in a kiddie pool for designer’s choice.

To start, I ink blended white card stock sized 4.4” x 5.5 “with Tumbled Glass Distress Ink. I set the background aside and stamped the sloths  and hibiscus flowers from Silly Sloths Stamps and die cut with the coordinating dies, Silly Sloths Dies.  I stamped the pool from Kiddie Pool Stamps and die cut the pool with Kiddie Pool Dies.

Next, I stamped the jungle border from Tropical Scenes, hat from Sealiously Sweet, coconut drinks from Tiki Time, and scuba goggles from Beach Buddies. I coloured everything with Copic Markers.

I adhered the jungle border onto the background and then adhered the sloths, pool, and hibiscus flowers with foam tape for added dimension.

I added a frame using the scalloped border in
Frilly Frames Hexagon Die. I trimmed a piece of paper from Subtle Grey Tones 6x6 Paper to 4.4” x 5.5”. I placed the scalloped border in the center of the paper and then I die cut the frame out leaving the border with an inverted scalloped edge. I added foam tape on along the back of the frame and adhered it onto the background.

I finished off the card with a white heat embossed sentiment from Silly Sloth Stamps.

Sunny Studi Stamps Cruisin' Cuisine Ice Cream Truck Summer Pop-up Card with Bobbi Lemanski

Hello friends. It’s Bobbi Lemanski sharing a card using a really cute stamp set from Sunny Studio Stamps
called, Cruisin’ Cuisine stamp set and coordinating dies. My card features a pop-up truck on the card front for a little fun. It puts the truck in an upright position, on a concrete patio, ready to sell some sweet cream treats!

To make this 5″ X 7″ card, I used Neenah 80lb cardstock for the card base, front panel, truck, cone
and back support. I stamped the truck and cone using black ink and die cut the designs. I cut another set of the two cuts out of white cardstock to finish the back side with clean white cardstock. (The back side shows when the truck is upright.) This extra backing also helps to make the truck more sturdy, too. The ice cream cone was glued to the top of the truck.

I colored the images using the following Copic Marker colors:

Truck: YR69, FR01, RV55, RV02, E57, E55, E53, 100, C08, C05, C01, BV000, B00, W4
Ice Cream Cone:
E57, E55, E53, YR31, YR30, RV55, YR68, E47, W4

To make the concrete patio, I completed steps 1 and 2 (above) then cut an oval shape from the hand-drawn block patio to place under the truck. This design is clean and simple and grounds the truck on the card. I kept it simple, in black and white, only. I like the contrast with the very colorful truck and cone.

I cut the top off the oval and attached it to the card front. I created a 1.5″ wide support strip and scored it down the middle and attached 1/2 of the support to the back of the truck and the other 1/2 to the concrete oval. The truck naturally wants to spring up on the hinge, but it still folds flat down to tuck inside an envelope for mailing.

On the bottom of the card front, I sponged on Distress Oxide Ink in Kitch Flamingo and Carved Pumpkin. I splattered water over the ink and blotted it dry with a paper towel. I stamped the cone images over the top in Kitch Flamingo and Carved Pumpkin once it was dry.  Next, I added dots using Copics in YR68, RV55 and a white gel pen. I stamped the phrase on the front in black. An Icing Border die design, cut from white cardstock, was added to the bottom. I attached the card front to the card base to complete the card.

Guest Designer Spotlight: Cards with Barbara Tarayao

Hi there! I'm Barbara and I am thrilled to be back as a guest designer for Sunny Studio!

Sunny Studio Stamps: Tropical Trees Backdrop Die Summer Card by Barbara Tarayao

For the sunset miss you card I used the Tropical Trees Backdrop die. Using distress oxide ink, I ink blended a sunset sky then masked off half the panel and ink blended the water. I die cut the sand and the trees from brown and green card stock. I used a white gel pen to add some detail. I also used the Sunny Studio's Loopy Letters dies to create the "miss you" sentiment.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Baby Elephants Card by Barbara Tarayao

For the Hello Baby card I used the Baby Elephants stamp set. I colored them with Prisma colored pencils and fussy cut them out. I used distress inks to make the background and the Hello sentiment. I die cut the word baby out of white card stock. I'm in love with these cute elephants!!

I hope I've inspired you today with your summer cardmaking!
