Juicy Watermelon Card with Nicky

Hello friends, this is Nicky with you today on the Sunny Studio Stamps blog and I have a new Juicy Watermelon card to share with you featuring products from the Summer release. Please read on for all the details.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Juicy Watermelon Card by Nicky Meeks (featuring Big Panda, Scalloped Square Dies)

I started by die cutting white cardstock using the Scalloped Square 2 Large Dies. I masked just inside the faux stitched line and ink blended using The Stamp Market's 'Fresh Pink' ink.  I splashed on some water and blotted it up and dotted in other interest with a pen then carefully removed the mask, backed the panel with white craft foam and applied it to a patterned panel from the Spring Sunburst 6 x 6 Cardstock. This was glued to a larger white panel then to my card base.

I stamped and coloured the adorable panda from the Big Panda stamp set and coloured using the following Copic colours - T6, T5, T4, T3, C3, C1, C0, C00, R22, R21, R20, R00, R000. I die cut using the coordinating Big Panda Dies and gave her a drink to hold .... pretty sure it is some kind of watermelon concoction!!!  To colour the cocktail I used - RV04, R22, R21, R20, R00 and B0000 for the actual glass. I adhered the drink within the panda's arms using foam tape and highlighted the images with a white gel pen.

I die cut the slice of watermelon using the Juicy Watermelon Dies and ink blended using Gumdrop by The Stamp Market and Distress Oxide Ink in Festive Berries. I backed the slice with a dark grey cardstock so that the seeds showed through and glued. I then glued the watermelon slices and the panda to the card background and finished with the Hello Cutie sentiments and a few sparkling clear sequins for accents.

Wishing you all a wonderful weekend with time to craft, I'll be back next Friday with something new to share.

Build-a-Bowl Die Focused Card with Marine

Hello crafty friends, Marine here, I'm thrilled to be back on the blog with this lovely card featuring Build A Bowl. As very often I mixed and matched items from different sets, and instead of using the bowl with fruits (which I'll certainly do in the coming weeks), I turned it into a planter to create a sweet garden scene.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Build-A-Bowl Die Focused Card by Marine Simon

The first thing I did was create a stenciled background that would match my garden theme nicely. I cut a kraft panel using the largest Stitched Square die, and used a stencil from my stash along with white pigment ink, and shabby shutters, mowed lawn, spun sugar and worn lipstick oxide inks to make a pretty lattice. I mixed some vintage photo oxide ink with water and used a small brush to add splatters to my panel, and then did the same with copic opaque white ink.

Next I cut a scalloped square out of light brown woodgrain cardstock using the second largest Scalloped Square 1 Large die, and turned it into a frame by cutting an opening out of it using the third largest Stitched Square die. I applied a little bit of vintage photo oxide inks on the edges, and attached my scalloped frame on the stenciled panel using 1mm foam squares.

I picked all the bits and pieces from different die sets, cut them out of colored cardstock, and used oxide inks to add shadows and more interest to each element. Here is a detailed list of the products I used: • Build A Bowl for the planter • Mini Grass Border for the grass • Build A Birdhouse for the birdhouse, birds, pole • Spring Garden for the tulips • Winter Greenery for the tall leaves. I attached everything on my panel, starting with the bowl and grass, and then added all the remaining pieces using 1mm and 2mm foam squares, as well as liquid glue.

For my greeting, I started off by cutting the different Brilliant Banner 1 components out of dark gray cardstock and black cardstock. I white embossed "For my tweet friend" from Little Birdie on the front piece, assembled the whole banner using 1mm foam squares and liquid glue, and attached it below the planter using 1mm foam squares again.

Finally I added a black dot to each bird's eye, and highlights and details to most of the elements using a white gel pen. And that's it!

It took me quite a few brainstorming sessions to figure out what I wanted to do with the Build A Bowl dies, my mojo had left me on this one, but I'm so happy of how it turned out, it's such a darling little scene, and I hope you like it. Thanks so much for stopping by, and see you next week!

Big Panda Card with Tina

Hello crafters, it’s Tina and today I am creating a sweet card using one of my favorite stamp sets called Big Panda. By using the matching dies, the panda can hold several fun accessories.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Big Panda Summer Themed Card by Tina Henkens (featuring Botanical Backdrop Dies, Frilly Frame Dies)

After stamping this cutie, his hat and drink, I colored all the images with vibrant Copic Markers, and I added some details with a white gel pen.

Next, I created a pink card base and made two white panels with the outer die from Frilly Frames Chevron. One of them was cut on a diagonal angle, this will be the lower part of the card front. For the other chevron panel, I used a cloud stencil from my stash and Peacock Feathers Distress OxideAfter gluing this panel to the pink card base, I mounted the white angled piece on top leaving some room to tuck in the cute panda bear.

To cover up the line between the two panels, I went with a border of tropical flowers from the Botanical Backdrop die. I love that this set gives you a gorgeous leave border as well as lots of individual layered flowers. These flowers and leaves were inked up with Distress Oxides Spices Marmalade, Squeezed Lemonade, Peacock Feathers, Mustard Seed, and Picked Raspberry.

The sentiment is also from the Big Panda set and was stamped in matching Distress Oxide colors. There are separate dies for these two words, which is great!

Now it was time to put the card together! I first added the adorable Panda with his fun hat and cool drink. Next, I started playing with the positioning of all the flowers and leaves. It was a bit tricky to find space for the large sentiment, but in the end, everything worked out as planned. I love finishing a card with some embellishments and today I chose some teals from the beautiful Pastel Jewel mix

Thank you for joining me and I am looking forward to seeing your gorgeous creations with this fun panda! Happy crafting!

Strawberry Patch Card with Isha

Hello everyone! Isha here today with a sweet birthday card featuring the Strawberry Patch dies. These dies are so detailed and look delicious once we add color to the die-cuts.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Strawberry Patch Birthday Card by Isha Gupta (featuring Big Bold Greetings)

I started by sponging a white layer using salty ocean and peacock feathers distress inks. I then die-cut the Strawberry Patch die, using white card. Sponge distress ink (antique linen, abandoned coral, candied apple, aged mahogany, twisted citron, peeled paint) to add color to the die-cuts.

Stamp the sentiment from the Big Bold Greetings, die-cut using the coordinating dies. Adhere the sentiment using foam tape. Create the clusters and adhere die-cuts to the card using liquid adhesive and foam tape. Adhere the panel to a white card base. To finish, I added yellow nuvo drops to the center of the flowers.

Thank you for dropping by and have a nice day!

Sliding Window Die Focused Card with Leanne

Hello everyone! Leanne here and today I'm sharing an interactive thank you card. This card has a sliding window and when opened, a gift card is revealed. The Sliding Window die makes it so easy to create this fun interactive card.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Sliding Window Die Focused Card by Leanne West (featuring Summer Greenery Dies, Thank You Word Dies, Frilly Frame Dies, Tropical Birds)

I used Catherine Pooler Lime Rickey and Cummerbund inks for the two toned look on the sliding window panels. To get the decorative edge on my window panel I used the outer die from the Frilly Frames Chevron die set

To decorate the outside of my card, I added a cluster of tropical leaves and a cute little toucan from the Tropical Birds stamp set. The greeting I stamped is also from this set. The leaves were die cut with the Summer Greenery dies from two shades of green card stock. I decided to add some tiny die cut hibiscus flowers as well.

Copic colors used for the toucan: T4, T6, T8, G20, YG13, Y13, YR12, YR24, R32, R35

To allow room to enclose a gift card, I simply used thin foam tape to adhere the sliding window panel to my card base. I thought the Amazon gift card nicely coordinated with my toucan.

There was also enough room for decoration underneath the gift card so I added the Thank You words and one of the Summer Greenery leaves.

Limitless Labels Die Focused Card with Cathy

Hey friends! Cathy here today sharing a vintage travel label inspired card featuring the Limitless Labels I Dies. This card is all about die-cuts! I’ve paired some new summer dies with some older favorites for a fun beachy card.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Limitless Label Die Focused Summer Card by Cathy Chapdelaine (featuring Brilliant Banner Dies, Fresh Lemon Dies, Summer Jar Mug Dies, Tropical Trees Backdrop Dies, Stitched Rectangles Dies)

To start, I die-cut a piece of Summer Splash Paper with the largest Stitched Rectangles Die and adhered it centered on an A2 card front. I then die-cut the second largest Limitless Labels 1 Die from white cardstock. I placed a post-it note across the top part of the label and inked the ocean with Mermaid Lagoon Distress ink covering about 1 inch. I inked the sand below it with Antique Linen Distress ink. I then masked the ocean and inked the sun and sky with Squeezed Lemonade, Fossilized Amber, Dried Marigold and Salvaged Patina Distress inks. To balance the black on the card and make the background label stand out more, I die-cut the same Limitless Labels 1 die twice from black cardstock and adhered one overlapping the other so that 1/8” of the black label underneath is visible. I then adhered the background label centered on the black labels and adhered the combined piece to the center of the card front.

Next, I die-cut a palm tree from black cardstock using the Tropical Trees Backdrop Die and adhered it to the left side of the label. I die-cut the umbrella from the Summer Jar Mug Dies from white cardstock and inked it with Kitsch Flamingo and Antique Linen Distress inks. For a little extra detail on the umbrella, I die-cut the flower centers from the Strawberry Patch Dies from white cardstock and colored them with Copics. I love how the slice die from the Fresh Lemon Dies can be made into several different citrus fruits. I chose to make them orange slices for this card by coloring the centers with Copics and inking the rind with Spiced Marmalade Distress ink.

To finish, I die-cut the Brilliant Banners I Die from green, pink and black cardstock. I used sentiments from the Beach Bus Stamps that fit the banner nicely and added to the vintage look. I heat embossed the “enjoy” sentiment on the green label with black embossing powder and then layered/adhered the 3 banner die-cuts together slightly overlapping. I inked a piece of white cardstock with Fossilized Amber Distress ink, heat embossed the “summer” sentiment with black embossing powder and die-cut it using the coordinating dies. For dimension, I adhered the banner across the label using dimensional foam tape.

I hope you enjoyed and thanks for stopping by today! For more inspiration, please visit my blog www.inkredibleadventures.com and you can also find me on Instagram as @cathy.chapdelaine.
