Mermaid Kisses Card with Cathy

Hey friends! Cathy here today sharing a fun underwater scene card featuring the cute Mermaid Kisses Stamps!

Sunny Studio Stamps: Mermaid Kisses Card by Cathy Chapdelaine (featuring Slimline Dies, Ocean View, Fintastic Friends, Frilly Frame Dies)

I started this A2 card with the ocean background. I die-cut a piece of white cardstock using the frame portion of the Frilly Frames Quatrefoil Dies and heat embossed the sentiment on the left side 1 1/2" from the top edge with white embossing powder. I then inked the panel starting at the top with Tumbled Glass, Salvaged Patina and Peacock Feathers Distress ink. I splattered some water with a fan brush and once dry, inked a sunray stencil at the top with Ranger Glacier White pigment ink.

Next, I cut a piece of white cardstock using the same frame from the Frilly Frames Quatrefoil Dies and die-cut across the bottom 1 1/2" using a Slimline Nature Borders Die. I inked the piece with Antique Linen Distress ink and adhered it to the bottom of the ocean background. I then adhered the background to the card front.

To finish, I stamped all images on Neenah Classic Crest 80lb solar white cardstock, colored them with Copics and die-cut them using the coordinating dies.

I used the following stamps and dies:

Fintastic Friends Stamps/Dies
Ocean View Stamps/Dies

Guest Designer Spotlight: Tropical Birds Cards with Hanh Nguyen

Hello Crafty Friends! This is Hanh. I am so honored to be back to Guest Design for Sunny Studio Stamps. Today I am sharing a couple of birthday cards that I made with the adorable Tropical Birds Stamps set. This set contains 6 super cute birds, flowers, leaves, and the most beautiful vine.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Tropical Birds Birthday Cards by Hanh Nguyen (featuring Stitched Circle Large Dies)

Happy Bird Day! For my first card, I have a shadow box card featuring these cute Tropical Birds. I love box cards! Today, I am going to show you how to make your own shadow box card from scratch. I am convinced that this is the easiest way to make a shadow box card and the best part ... (drumroll please) ... no special die needed! When upright, the card measures 4.25" by 4.25". It flattens to 4.25" x 5.25" when folded and can easily fit into a standard A2 size envelope. The only die that you need is any die of your choice to create the front window. If you know of an easier way to create a shadow box card, please comment below. I would love to know. So let's get started.

I stamped the images from Tropical Birds Stamps set onto some Neenah Solar White 110 lb cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and used the coordinating Tropical Birds Dies to die-cut them out. I colored them with Copic markers and accented them with a white gel pen.

COPIC COLORS:
Green Bird: YG0000/00/01/03/17, Y38 YR04, RV10
Pink Bird: RV000/10/21/13/14, Y38 YR04/07, W5, RV10
Yellow Bird: Y000/11/13/15 V12, Y38 YR04/07, W5, RV10
Vine/Leaves: YG00/01/03/17
Branch: E21/23/25/27
Flowers: RV10/21/13/14, Y11/13/15 RV21/13, Y13

For the background, I took a piece of Bristol Smooth cardstock (4.25" x 4.25") and blended it with Tumbled Glass and Salty Ocean Distress Oxide inks.

For the shadow box card, I took a piece of white cardstock (4.25" x 11") and used a Score Board to score at the 1", 5.25', 6.25" and 10.5" marks. (This will result in a long card with 5 panels which I will refer to, from left to right as the following: left, front, right, back and a 0.5" end tab.) I used the second largest circle die (3.5") from the Stitched Circle Large Dies set to die-cut a window into the center of the "front" panel (see photo). I stamped one of the sentiments from the Tropical Birds Stamp set directly onto the lower right corner of the "front" windowed panel. I folded along the score lines.

I adhered the inked background panel to the inside of the "back" panel of the shadow box card. The colored images were adhered to the inside of the front panel. I closed off the box card by adhering the 0.5" end tab to the inside of the 1" wide left panel with some strong double-sided tape.

A-parrotly It's Your Birthday! My second card is a 5.25" square birthday card featuring the Tropical BirdsScalloped Square 2 Large Dies, and Stitched Square Dies. I absolutely adore square shaped cards and was so excited to see FIVE square die sets during this last release.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Tropical Birds Birthday Cards by Hanh Nguyen (featuring Stitched Square Dies, Scalloped Square Dies)

I stamped, die-cut and colored the images from Tropical Birds Stamps set in the same manner as my first card.

COPIC COLORS:
Bird 1 & 3: YG0000/00/01/03/17, B0000/000/00/02/04, Y38 YR04/07, W5, RV10
Pink Bird: RV000/10/21/13/14, Y0000/000, Y38 YR04, RV10
Vine/Leaves: YG00/01/03/17
Branch: E21/23/25/27
Flowers: RV21/13

I used the largest die from the Scalloped Square 2 Large Dies and the third largest die from the Stitched Square Dies to die-cut the two panels out of white cardstock. I trimmed two slightly larger squares out of pink cardstock to mat the white panels.

I stamped one to the sentiments from the Tropical Birds set directly onto the smaller stitched square panel. I layered and adhered the squares. I adhered the colored images with foam tape for a bit of dimension and interest. Finally, I adhered the panel to a 5.25" square white card base.

As always, I appreciate you taking the time to stop by and visit today. I hope you liked my cards. Be sure to check out the Sunny Studio Stamps Shop for more info and ideas. Please also visit my INSTAGRAM feed for more inspiration.

Summer Jar Mug Die Focused Card with Nicky

Hello friends this is Nicky with you today and I'm sharing a fun summer themed card with you today working with products from Sunny's fun summer release, focusing on the Summer Jar Mugs Dies. Read on for all the details.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Summer Jar Mug Die Focused Card by Marine Simon (featuring Scalloped Square Dies)

I started by die-cutting the main white panel using the Scalloped Square 1 Large Dies. I masked just inside the faux stitched line and grabbed an old stencil from my stash and using Sunshine, Fresh Pink and Seaglass inks from The Stamp Market I ink blended some 'bubbles' softly then removed the mask. I backed the panel with some white craft foam and layered it over a larger patterned cardstock panel from the Dots & Stripes Pastels Paper and that patterned panel was glued to a 5 3/4 inch white panel which I glued to my card base. These dimensions build a pleasingly substantial card!

I then used sturdy white cardstock and some acetate and I die cut the Summer Jar Mugs Dies forms. I believe I die cut 6 times from the heavyweight white cardstock and I layered them together, filled with a selection of fun shaker embellishments from my stash, then used the acetate die cut to seal the window closed, adding one more cardstock panel to finish the mug off. I inserted the straw and umbrella behind the mug and adhered it to the card's background.

To finish the card I took the sentiments from the Big Panda stamp set, stamped with Memento Ink in Rich Cocoa and die cut the word SUMMER using the coordinating die for the set. I applied these words at playful angles using dimensional foam tape and to finish the scene I applied 3 sparkling clear sequin accents all in different sizes.

Another card done! I appreciate you coming to read the blog today and look forward to being back with you next Friday with something new to share and meanwhile I wish you wonderful weekend.

Wild Cherry Die Focused Card with Marine

Hi crafty friends, Marine here with you today, back with a bright and cheerful card showcasing the Wild Cherries, one of the fruit themed die sets from the Summer 2024 release. So amazing!

Sunny Studio Stamps: Wild Cherry Die Focused Card by Marine Simon

I started off by creating a light pink cloudy background on a 5,5 x 4,25 inches Strathmore bristol smooth panel using a stencil from my stash along with spun sugar oxide ink. Next I used a cherry stencil, from my stash again, along with worn lipstick, festive berries, shabby shutters, mowed lawn, vintage photo and ground espresso oxide inks, and created a beautiful cherry background. I splattered water all over the panel and dried it using a paper towel. I also mixed some ground espresso oxide ink with water and used a small brush to add more texture to my panel, and then did the same with copic opaque white ink.

Next I cut all my bits and pieces: cherries, stems, branches, leaves, flowers and bird out of colored cardstock, and used oxide inks to add shadows and more depth to each element. Here is a detailed list of the products I used: • Wild Cherries for the cherries, stems, leaves • Out On A Limb for the branches • Wicker Basket for the flowers • Build A Birdhouse for the bird

I cut a Frilly Frames Hexagon scalloped panel out of vellum, temporarily taped it to my stenciled panel using washi tape, and then attached all the die-cut pieces on the vellum using 1mm and 2mm foam squares, as well as 3mm glue dots and liquid glue, leaving enough space in the center for my Punny Fruit Greeting. I first white heat embossed "You're the" and "On top of my day", leaving enough space for the word "Cherry" that I stamped using festive berries oxide ink and then heat embossed with clear embossing powder. Next I removed the washi tape pieces, flipped my vellum panel over, added liquid glue behind each die-cut piece, and then attached the panel to my stenciled background.

For the finishing touches, I added a black dot on the bird's eye using black nuvo drops, highlights and details to the elements using a white gel pen, and three dots in the center of each flower using white nuvo drops. And that's it! This card was super fun to make, I love those beautiful cherries and how the word "Cherry" turned out so glossy.

And I think that the addition of that little birdie makes the card even cuter, doesn't it? Thanks so much for stopping by, and see you next time!

Tropical Birds Card with Tina

Hi crafty friends, Tina here and since the warm sun is out today I have a card featuring the adorable Tropical Birds for you! As most card makers I always struggle with little pieces of left over card stock. So, I wanted to use these ‘scraps’ in my design today.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Tropical Birds Birthday Card by Tina Henkens (featuring Tropical Scenes, Punny Fruit Greetings, Fresh Lemon Dies)

My base consists of three white mini card bases and I discovered that the big ‘leaf structure’ from Tropical Scenes was perfect to connect these pieces together! I stamped the large branch image once and cut it with the matching die.

Next, I cut three more of these branches from plain white card stock, these will be my support pieces to glue the card design together! I selected three cute birds and several leaves from the Tropical Birds set and cut them with the dies. To get that tropical vibe, I needed to use vibrant Copic colors.

Distress Oxide Squeezed Lemonade was the perfect shade to add some interest to the three mini card bases, for this I used a stencil from my stash. To tie in the yellow color even more I found some lemons I created for another project (Fresh Lemon Dies).

Sunny Studio Stamps: Tropical Birds Birthday Card by Tina Henkens (featuring Tropical Scenes, Punny Fruit Greetings, Fresh Lemon Dies)

The Misti came in very handy to position my three mini panels and connect them by gluing the large branch across these pieces. For extra support, I repeated this step on the inside of the front, and also twice on the back of my card base. The mini panels were now securely attached together. I added the sweet birds, lemon slices and extra leaves following the shape of the large branch.

The sentiment was selected from the Punny Fruit Greetings and stamped onto a small white banner with Versafine Onyx Black ink. A few Gold Jewels were all the embellishment this card needed.

Thank you for visiting the blog and happy crafting with these fun products!
