Square Die Focused Card with Cathy

Hey friends! Cathy here today and I’ve got a fresh and fun card for you with a design that features several of the new Square Dies. I used a clean grid pattern to also showcase the new Fresh Lemon Dies. I think they make adorable little limes!

Sunny Studio Stamps: Fresh Lemon Summer Themed Card by Cathy Chapdelaine (featuring Punny Fruit Greetings, Stitched Square Dies, Scalloped Square Dies)

This is a 5 1/4" square card and I started by die-cutting a piece of lime green cardstock using the largest Scalloped Square 1 Large Dies. I adhered it centered on a white card front. Next, I cut a piece of white cardstock 4 1/2" x 4 1/2" and embossed it using the Moroccan Circles Embossing Folder for a little texture. I then die-cut this piece using the 2nd largest Stitched Square Dies and adhered it centered on the scalloped square. I inked a 4” x 4” piece of white cardstock with Kitsch Flamingo Distress ink and die-cut it 4 times using the 3rd smallest Stitched Square Dies. I then adhered the squares evenly spaced on the white cardstock.

Next, I die-cut 4 slices using the Fresh Lemon Dies and inked them with Celery Simon Says Stamp ink, Twisted Citron and Mowed Lawn Distress inks. I adhered each to the center of a square. I die-cut 2 limes and inked them with Mowed Lawn and Rustic Wilderness Distress inks. I die-cut a smiley face in each one, backed that area with black cardstock and added a few details with a white gel pen/black pen. The small flower centers from the Strawberry Patch Dies make for adorable blush so I die-cut 2 from white cardstock and colored them with Copics for one of my limes. I also die-cut 2 flowers using the Strawberry Patch Dies. I just love their sweet little faces!

To finish, I heat embossed sentiments from the Punny Fruit Greetings Stamps with white embossing powder on black cardstock and fussy cut around them.

I hope you enjoyed and thanks for stopping by today! For more inspiration, please visit my blog www.inkredibleadventures.com and you can also find me on Instagram as @cathy.chapdelaine.

Guest Designer Spotlight: Strawberry Patch Cards with Hanh Nguyen

Hello, Crafty Friends! This is Hanh Nguyen. I am so honored and excited to be Guest Designing for Sunny Studio Stamps and showcasing products from the new Summer Release. Summer is just around the corner and this new Release is packed with all sorts of fun summer vibes.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Strawberry Patch Die Focused Cards with Hanh Nguyen (featuring Panda Party, Build-A-Bowl Dies, Punny Fruit Greetings, Chloe Alphabet Dies, Big Bold Greetings)

I am on the Sunny Studio Blog today to share with you three different ways to use the new Strawberry Patch Dies. I love all of the fresh fruits that are available during the summer time. Strawberries are definitely on the top of that list. These strawberry dies are just the cutest and are perfect for all of those summer themed cards. There are two dies to die cut the two layers for each of the strawberries. The top pierced layer leaves a nice texture and gives just a peek of color from the solid layer below. They are so much fun to play with and mix and match with the leaves and stems.

May Your Birthday Be Sweet! My first card is a 5.5" square birthday card featuring these delicious strawberries paired up with the new Build-A-Bowl Dies and some playful pandas from Panda Party Stamps. With the super cool Build-A-Bowl dies, you can create everything from a rimmed bowl to a colander to a basket, which I have used in my card today.

NOTE: For the Build-A-Bowl Dies, the inner and outer part of the basket are not intended to be die cut together. I found it easiest to die cut the inner part first, then align and die cut the outer part of the basket.

I die cut all of the parts from the Strawberry Patch Dies and Build-A-Bowl Dies out of Bristol Smooth, yellow and green cardstock. You could easily die cut all of the parts out of colored cardstock but I did not have the color that I wanted for my strawberries so I opted to ink blend them on white cardstock. I highly recommend die cutting the green stems and yellow flower centers out of colored cardstock though -- not only was it easier and faster on those smaller parts but there was also less of a chance of the white cardstock showing through any poorly inked areas.

I ink blended the pierced (top) layer of the strawberry with Abandoned Coral, Candied Apple and Fired Brick Distress Inks. I left the solid (bottom) layer of the strawberry white on this card. I added a little Mowed Lawn Distress Oxide ink to the green leaves and stems for a bit of dimension. I layered and adhered all of the elements.

I stamped the images from Panda Party onto a piece of Neenah Solar White 110 lb card stock. I colored the images with Copic markers and accented with gel pens. (Copic colors listed below). I used the coordinating Panda Party Dies to cut them out.

For the background, I took a piece of Bristol Smooth cardstock and ink blended with Worn Lipstick, Spun Sugar, Twisted Citron and Mowed Lawn Distress Oxide Inks. I used the largest die from the new Stitched Squares Dies to die cut the panel.

Did you see that there are FIVE new sets of square dies with this new release?! I was so ecstatic to see these. I love making square shaped cards and am so happy to see all of the options for square dies.

For the sentiment, I die cut two sets of the necessary letters from the Chloe Alphabet Dies out of Bristol Smooth cardstock. I ink blended with the same Distress Inks as the strawberries. I layered and adhered the letters together for a bit of dimension. I stamped one of the sentiments from the new Punny Fruit Greetings directly onto the inked panel.

I used the largest die from the Scalloped Squares 1 Large Dies to diecut a white scalloped mat for my inked panel. I adhered the two panels to each other. I adhered the letters, bowl and all of the strawberries and pandas as shown in the picture with a combo of liquid adhesive and foam squares.

Finally, I adhered all of the panel onto a piece of patterned paper from the Classic Gingham Paper before adhering it to a white card base (5.5" x 5.5").

Wishing You a Berry Happy Birthday! These pandas were loving the strawberries so much that I made a second birthday card with them. I created the strawberries in the same manner as the first card except that this time, I ink blended the solid (bottom) layer of the strawberries with the same Abandoned Coral Distress Ink. I think this made for a slightly redder set of strawberries.

I stamped and colored the pandas in the same manner as the first card, using the following Copic colors:
Pandas: C00/0/1/3/5/7, R30
Red: R22/24/29
Green: YG01/03

Sunny Studio Stamps: Strawberry Patch Die Focused Cards with Hanh Nguyen (featuring Panda Party, Big Bold Greetings, Punny Fruit Greetings, Comic Strip Everyday Dies)

For this layout, I used the Comic Strip Everyday Dies to die cut the frame out of white and green cardstock. I matched the green frame with the white inner parts. I lightly ink blended a bit of Spun Sugar Distress Oxide Ink to each of the white inner parts for a bit of interest.

For the sentiment, I stamped the sentiments from the new Punny Fruit Greetings directly into the upper left corner. I stamped the Happy Birthday sentiment from the Big Bold Greetings Stamps with red ink and die cut with the coordinating Big Bold Greetings Dies.

I adhered the green frame and all of the white inner parts onto a white card base (4.25" x 5.5"). I adhered the sentiment, all of the strawberries and pandas as shown in the picture with a combo of liquid adhesive and foam squares.

For my last card, I made a fairly clean and simple note card. I created the strawberries in the same manner as the first card except that this time, I die cut the solid (bottom) layer of the strawberries out of green cardstock. I think this made for a slightly deeper red set of strawberries.

I used the medium sized die from the Stitched Rectangle Dies set to die cut a white panel. For the sentiment, I die cut two sets of the necessary letters from the Chloe Alphabet Dies out of Bristol Smooth cardstock. I ink blended with the same Distress Inks as the strawberries. I layered and adhered the letters together for a bit of dimension. I stamped the word "friend" from the new Big Panda Stamps directly onto the white panel.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Strawberry Patch Die Focused Cards with Hanh Nguyen (featuring Stitched Rectangle Dies, Chloe Alphabet Dies)

I adhered the letters and all of the strawberries as shown in the picture with a combo of liquid adhesive and foam squares.

I trimmed a piece of green cardstock 1/4" larger to mat the white panel. I adhered a piece of craft foam to the back of the panel before adhering it to a piece of patterned paper from the Classic Gingham Paper before adhering it to a white card base (4.25" x 5.5").  I finished the card with a few sparkling clear sequins from my stash.

I truly appreciated this amazing opportunity to Guest Design for Sunny Studio Stamps. I had so much fun playing with these Strawberry Patch Dies. They are so versatile and can colored in so many different ways. I inked the top layer in the same manner for all of the cards and just varied the solid (bottom) layer to achieve a slightly different look. Which of the three different strawberries was your favorite?

I appreciate you taking the time to stop by and visit today. I hope you liked my cards. Be sure to head over to the Sunny Studio Stamps Shop to check out the awesome new Summer Release. Please also visit my INSTAGRAM feed for more inspirations.

Have a wonderful and crafty day!

Fresh Lemon Die Focused Card with Nicky

Hello this is Nicky with you today and I'm sharing my first card featuring products from Sunny's wonderful brand new release. I've got a zesty scene, focusing on the Fresh Lemon Dies.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Fresh Lemon Die Focused Card by Nicky Meeks (featuring Punny Fruit Greetings, Stitched Rectangle Dies)

I used the Stitched Rectangle Die to create a white panel and I ink blended the panel softly using a blush ink. I stamped the sentiment from Punny Fruit Greetings in my Misti using Memento Ink in Rich Cocoa.

I backed this panel with white craft foam and applied it to a panel of Gingham Pastels patterned cardstock and then to my white card base.

I used sturdy white cardstock and I die cut the lemon images using the Fresh Lemon Dies. For the leaves I used a light green cardstock. I ink blended the lemons using Squeezed Lemonade, Scattered Straw and Fossilized Amber Distress Oxide inks. I die cut their little faces from black cardstock and glued in place and I pieced together the leaves adding a little Copic marker to darken one half of each leaf. I blushed their cheeks using Copic Markers in R22, R20, R00 and highlighted with a white gel pen before assembling the leaves and glueing them to the lemons and then either glueing directly to the background or popping elements up on dimensional tape.

I die cut, assembled and applied a few little blooms from the Wonderful Windows Die and with that this card was done.

Thanks for stopping by for the details today, I'll be back next Friday with something new.

Beach Bus Card with Marine

Hello crafty friends, Marine here, I'm absolutely thrilled to be back on the blog and start sharing the cards I've made with the Summer 2024 release products! Once again, Sunny Studio has come with amazing new items, and today's card features the adorable Beach Bus that I turned into a mountain van.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Beach Bus Camping Themed Card by Marine Simon (featuring Critter Campout, Seasonal Trees, Country Scenes)

And to get some kind of a vintage vibe, I stamped all my images on kraft cardstock using an alcohol marker friendly black ink. I cut them using the matching dies, and colored everything using my alcohol markers.

Here is a detailed list of the stamp sets I used: • Beach Bus for the van, small mice in the van and suitcases • Seasonal Trees for the pine trees • Critter Campout for the tent, fire, marshmallow sticks and snail • Garden Critters for the grass • Harvest Mice for the mice by the campfire • Christmas Critters for the large mouse in the van • Country Scenes for the mountain background

Next I cut a 5,5 x 4,25 inches panel out of the same kraft cardstock as the images, and created a cloudy sky on the upper part using a cloud stencil from my stash along with salty ocean oxide ink. I mixed that same oxide ink with water and used a small brush to make splatters on the clouds, and then did the same with copic opaque white ink.

I stamped my "Together is my favorite place to be" greeting from Critter Campout in black, and attached all my images using 1mm and 2mm foam squares. I added a little bit of white blizzard nuvo drops to the heart to make it shine, and finished my card with highlights and details on the images using a white gel pen.

And that's it! If you've never tried coloring on kraft cardstock, you definitely should because it's as easy as coloring on white cardstock, and the vintage look it gives to a scene is really amazing. Thanks so much for stopping by, and see you next week for more inspiration featuring the Summer 2024 release.
