Dotted Diamond Background Die Focused Card with Tina

Hello crafty friends, Tina here with a sweet shaped card featuring the elegant Dotted Diamond dies which are available in portrait (as used today) and landscape. These amazing dies really give that subtle extra embellishment to an otherwise plain panel! Love that!

To create this shaped card, I started with a rectangle panel of Neenah Solar White cardstock which I ran through the die cut machine using the Dotted Diamond Portrait die. Next I cut this panel with the large acorn die from Nutty For You and inked it in a light brown color using Distress Oxides Antique linen and Walnut Stain. The separate top part was made from a striped paper (Critter Country pad).

Next, I stamped and die cut the sweet fox, pumpkins and leaves mixing and matching several sets (Fall Friends, Harvest Mice, Fall Kiddos and Beautiful Autumn). All the coloring was done with Copics, I went with rich Fall colors trying to get some strong contrasts.

After arranging all my images onto the acorn, I noticed there wasn’t much room left for a sentiment! However, I found the perfect little message when I took out the Turkey Day set and stamped it onto the tiniest little tag from my stash with Versafine Onyx Black ink.

Now let’s assemble the card, starting by adhering the acorn to a card base. It’s easy to create a shaped base, just fold your paper in half, use your shape die but only die cut partially (leaving the top fold intact). After adding the colorful top of the acorn, I glued all my elements in place. A little trick to help your card stand up nicely is to straighten the bottom of the back of your card base so it’s a flat line. I secured the tiny tag with a string to the stem and that finishes this sweet card.

Turkey Day Card with Marine

Hello crafty friends, Marine here with you today, so happy to be back with this cute 3D card showcasing the fun turkeys from Turkey Day. I really enjoyed making them super colorful! And just this once, I didn't pick a lot of extra images from other sets, only the mushroom from Happy Harvest, as well as the acorn and the stump from Fall Friends. Nothing more, how shocking, right?

I started off by stamping all the images on Transotype perfect coloring paper using an alcohol marker friendly black ink, I cut them all using the coordinating dies, and as always I used my alcohol markers to color everything. And like I said above, I went for colorful turkeys, I kept the bodies pretty neutral, but picked green, red, orange and yellow for the feather tails!

Next I worked on the card, and cut all the base elements out of kraft cardstock. I also cut some decorative pieces out of pattern papers:

• the yellow gingham back panel is from the Gingham Jewel Tones paper pack

• the green knitted insert pieces are from the Sweater Weather paper pack

• the red side pieces are from the Very Merry paper pack

• the wooden textured front piece is from the Amazing Argyle paper pack

I attached those decorative pieces of paper on the kraft base using 1mm foam squares, and then stuck all my images inside the 3D card using 3mm glue dots and liquid glue, and also on the outside using 1mm foam squares. 

I didn't want my sentiment to be lost among all those images, so I went for the Brilliant Banner 1 which I knew would stand out. I cut the two largest pieces out of yellow cardstock, and the two small pieces out of a darker yellow paper. I white heat embossed the "Happy Fall Y'all" greeting from Turkey Day on the piece with no fishtail, assembled the different elements using 1mm foam squares and liquid glue, and then attached the banner on the front of the card.

And that's it! I absolutely adore those turkeys, they're so adorable, and you can color them in so many different ways! I hope that you like this card! Thanks so much for stopping by, and see you next week!

Brilliant Banner Die Focused Card with Gladys

Hello crafty friends, Gladys here! I know it's not officially Fall but I'm totally feeling all the Fall vibes. One of the many things I love about Fall are the beautiful colors of the leaves. So, I wanted to incorporate those warm color tones on my card.

I combined some older stamp sets for this card, Fall Kiddos and Happy Harvest (tree). I stamped the images using alcohol friendly ink, colored them with copic markers and cut using their coordinating dies.

I cut the main panel twice, one from pattern paper and the other from Bristol smooth cardstock. Then I used the largest Stitched Arch die to cut the center. I ink blended on the negative cut out using shabby shutter, rustic wilderness, seedless preserves, abandoned coral and tattered rose distress oxide inks. To add more interest, I used a small paint brush to splatter seedless preserves diluted with some water.

Next, I stacked the pattern paper and Bristol cardstock to give it more stability. Then I put double sided foam tape for dimension before adhering it to an A2 size white cardstock. I inlaid the inked panel and adhered the colored images. For the sentiment, I stamped the sentiment from Turkey Day "Happy Fall Ya'll". It has a very nice cursive font which I really like. Finally, I used the beautiful Brilliant Banner 1 die to cut it and inked the edges with scattered straws.
