To begin my card today I first worked on my background. I pulled a piece of Yupo paper and my alcohol inks out. I'm using some alcohol inks from Ranger today in a blue, pink, and purple to create a more bright galaxy background. I'm using tips and tricks from my friend Niki - since I've struggled with alcohol inks a lot and learned from her to do them in layers, so I followed her steps using some Isocol alcohol, but any alcohol solution will work fine. I dripped on my colors, then dripped on the alcohol over top. Let them move around, then also let them dry ever so slightly, and then repeated the process until I got the desired effect. Once I got my background to a point there I liked it, I then splattered some alcohol off the stick of my sprayer bottle to sort of get that water splotch effect I love ever so much with my Distress Inks. I then set aside my piece to completely dry and moved onto my coloring.
I stamped the one polar bear on ice skates with some black ink along with the present and hat and colored them in using Copic Markers. This was super easy today since I used colors from my background. Once they were colored, I die-cut them out with the coordinating dies.
Next up I cut my card base from some Woodgrain White cardstock and then cut a white piece and my background piece with a scalloped circle die. I then cut the white piece down to a hill and adhered them together. I used fun foam and adhered the circle onto the side of my card and cut off the excess, then used foam tape and adhered my polar bear and additional images. For my sentiment, I used the Jolly Gingerbread set and white heat embossed the 'Merry Christmas' sentiment onto a strip of black cardstock, and adhered that down to my card also.
Thanks so much for stopping by today and I hope you enjoyed my card today!
