Sea You Soon Cards with Ashley and Juliana

Hello friends! It’s Ashley today with a very special card featuring the Sea You Soon mini set! As of last week, I now have a three year old! My daughter loves sea creatures, so I used the Sea You Soon set to make an under the sea birthday party for her with a special surprise - press the starfish and the candles light up!

I started by blending Distress Oxides in Milled Lavender, Tumbled Glass, and Salty Ocean on a 6.25”x3.5” piece of white cardstock. I splattered it with white and gold acrylic paint and dried it with my heat gun.

I stamped my images in Memento Tuxedo Black and colored with Copics. I used:
- Sea You Soon stamps and dies (shark and octopus)
- Best Fishes stamps and dies (sharks and sea creatures)
- Tropical Scenes stamps and dies (coral reef)
- Purrfect Birthday stamps and dies (party hats and cake)

The cake from Purrfect Birthday has three candles - perfect for a third birthday! I masked off the kitty face and ears so that it looked like a plain chocolate cake instead. I added all the images to my card, popping the cake and shark holding it up with foam tape so the light could shine behind it. I finished with the “birthday smiles” sentiment from Cruising Critters embossed in gold. I thought it went really well with all the toothy sharks!

To make the card light up, I used a Power Pack from Pear Blossom Press, maker tape, and white lights from Chibitronics. One light wasn’t quite bright enough behind the cardstock, so I punched a hole behind the cake and added a second light for a stronger effect. I placed the Power Pack so the button was under the starfish. All that was left was to attach the card front to the light up piece with two layers of foam tape!

I am so pleased with the final result and so was the birthday girl! The light behind the candles is fairly subtle, like candles glowing. Of course, for a stronger effect you could use more lights or punch out holes for the lights to shine through!

Hello Sunny Studio friends! It's Juliana and I'm here today to share a card featuring the Sea You Soon Stamp Set. Of course, I couldn't help combining it with the Tropical Scenes Stamp Set to create a fun underwater scene.

I started by stamping and coloring all the images using Copic Markers. I then die cut them using the coordinating dies. Once this was completed, I moved on to the background. For the background behind the openings I ink blended Distress Ink in Blue Print Sketch and Chipped Saphire on a piece watercolor paper. I then spritzed it with a little water and dabbed it dry to create the “bubbles”.

To create the framed openings, I used the Stitched Semi-Circle Dies. I placed them onto a piece of white cardstock cut to 4.25 x 5.5, using Therm O Web Purple Tape to hold them in place. I then used the stitched outer frame from the Frilly Frames Retro Die to die cut a frame for the entire front panel and to add a little interest and texture to the edge.

Next, I worked on creating the underwater scene by layering the Tropical Scenes image behind the framed opening and used double sided foam adhesive to pop up the other images for more depth and dimension. To complete the card I added a white heat embossed sentiment from the Sea You Soon Stamp Set on a strip of black cardstock.

Guest Designer Spotlight: Cards with Keeway Tsao

Hello friends! It’s Keeway Tsao from Kiwi Koncepts and let’s build some fun scene cards together with the Tropical Scenes stamps. For both of my cards today, I will also be using stitched dies to create a inlaid window to really enhance the depths of these tropical scenes.

For this first card, I started by coloring up the jungle border image from the set with Copic markers. These vines look extra good layered so I colored two of them. For my critter of choice, I brought out the Fabulous Flamingos stamps, stamped out two of them, colored and die cut them out.

To give the vines a dimensional arrangement, I used the Stitched Semi-Circle dies. I first blended a background with Pine Needles, Mowed Lawn, and Antique Linen distress oxide inks and then used the largest from of the Stitched Semi-Circle to die cut a window out. I adhered one of the jungle border in front and one tucked behind the window.

I stamped my sentiment just below the window and when I put together all the pieces, I had the center piece setback while the outer frame was adhered with foam tape. I tucked in some iridescent sequins within the framed area to complete the card.

I used the same technique again, but with a mix of some different products. This time around, I used the ocean coral border from Tropical Scenes stamps. This time going for an underwater scene, I used the Sea You Soon and Best Fishes stamps.

Since I am working with a much more saturated background, I heat embossed my sentiment in white to help it stand out. I adhered the center piece directly onto my base card to create the setback look and the frame around it was adhered with foam tape.

I built my images around the sentiment, giving each of my oceanic critters a place to be in this scene. I added them with foam tape and then I brought out the sequins again for some sparkly details. In fact, the sequins gave it a cute bubbly look!

Sealiously Sweet Cards with Rachel and Candice

Hello crafty friends! Rachel here with a staggered card that features the adorable Sealiously Sweet Stamp Set.

To start, I first stamped all of my images with Tuxedo Memento Black Ink onto a sheet of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I colored them all with Copic Markers and used the coordinating Sealiously Sweet Die Set to cut them out. I set them aside and then die cut my background from white cardstock using the Comic Strip Speech Bubbles Die.

Copic Colors Used:

Cool Grays: C00, C0, C2, C4 Warm Grays: W00, W0, W2, W4 Blues: B000, B00, B02, B04 Pinks: RV00, RV02, RV04, RV06, RV09 Teals: BG10, BG11, BG13, BG49 Greens: YG01, YG03, YG05, YG17 Peaches: R11, R21, R22, RV14 Purples: V000, V01, V05, V15, V17

I took the 4 inner pieces from the cut cardstock and blended the tops of them with Salty Ocean and Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide Inks. Next, I splattered each piece with both diluted opaque white paint and blue watercolor ink and adhered it to my base with liquid adhesive.

Lastly, I stamped my sentiment and then added my images with 3D Foam Adhesive Tape for added dimension.

Hi crafty friends, Candice with you today and I am highlighting these adorable seals from the Sealiously Sweet stamp set!

I used these Sunny Studio products from the new release for my card:

• Sealiously Sweet stamps & coordinating dies

• Sea You Soon stamps & coordinating dies
• Stitched Semi-Circle dies
• Rainbow Droplets

I began with an 8 1/2 x 3 1/2 card base that fits perfectly into your standard size envelopes. For the background, I first die cut the two stitched semi circles from an 8 1/2 x 3 1/2 piece of Bristol Smooth. I inked the bottom inside semi circle with Blueprint Sketch & Salty Ocean Oxide inks. For the split in the top semi circle, I taped off the sky and inked the ocean with salty ocean oxide ink and then switched the tape and inked the clouds using a homemade stencil with tumbled glass.

I then stamped the sentiment in Versafine black ink in the center and adhered with foam tape onto the card front. Next, I stamped the images and cut them out with the coordinating dies listed above and colored them with Zig clean color watercolor markers and accented with a white gel pen.

I glued and used foam tape to adhere them for some dimension and added some blue clear domes and clear Nuvo drops to finish the card.

Stitched Semi-Circle Die Focused Cards with Vanessa and Anja

Hello to you! Vanessa here again with a birthday card using the versatile Stitched Semi Circle Dies.

First, I covered a square card base with brown checked patterned paper from the Gingham Jewel Tones 6x6 Patterned Paper Pack.  Now I inked a panel of white cardstock with Distress Inks and die-cut the semi-circle from it. After I had stamped the tree from Savanna Safari, I die-cut a frame from dark brown patterned paper and adhered it to the inked semi-circle. Then I added a strip of grass from the Comic Strip Everyday Die Set and adhered the semi-circle element to the card. Next I stamped the cute lion from Savanna Safari, colored it with Copics, die-cut the animal with the matching die and adhered it with foam tape.

Finally, I stamped and heat-embossed the sentiment onto a strip of dark brown cardstock, heat-embossed it with white embossing powder, notched the ends and adhered it.

Hi everyone, Anja here and today I'm sharing a card in fresh summer colors combining some yummy fruits, cold treats and sweet seals. I'm featuring the Stitched Semi-Circle Dies which are perfect to create little scenes on your cards.

I chose two patterned papers from the Summer Splash Paper pack and used the second largest semi-circle die. I love that these dies have the stitched detail on both sides of the cutline. I adhered the striped negative piece to my card base and inlaid the orange floral die-cut into the window.

Next, I stamped all the images in Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and colored them with Copic Markers. I cut everything out with the coordinating dies, arranged the images inside the semi-circle window and adhered them with liquid glue and foam tape. The sentiment was stamped in VersaFine Onyx Black Ink onto a little black cardstock banner. I heat embossed it with white embossing powder and popped up the banner with foam tape as well. I finished off my card by adding three matching glitter enamel dots.
