Fresh Lemon Die Focused Card with Cathy

Hey friends! Cathy here today with an uplifting card for you featuring the Fresh Lemon Dies. I had so much fun making this and I can’t get enough of the cute smiley faces you can add to these lemons!

I started with the background panel by cutting a piece of white cardstock 4" x 5 1/2" and inking it lightly with Simon Says Stamp Seafoam ink. For a little texture (and because I thought it looked like a glass tile backsplash) I inked a second piece of white cardstock with the Seafoam ink and die-cut it multiple times using the ice cube dies from the Summer Jar Mug Dies. I adhered them to the background piece in rows covering the top 4" of the panel.

For a countertop look, I embossed a 2” x 5” piece of white cardstock using the Woodgrain Embossing Folder and inked it lightly with Lost Shadow Distress ink. I then die-cut this piece 6 times using the small die from the Stitched Rectangles Dies. I cut a piece of white cardstock 1 1/2" x 3 3/4" and adhered the woodgrain pieces to it trimming any excess from the edges. I then adhered this piece to the bottom of the background panel.

Next, I die-cut 2 strips of yellow paper from the Gingham Pastels Paper using the ribbon die from the Ribbon & Lace Border Dies. I overlapped/adhered the background panel to the ribbon strips on the left and right sides so just a stitched edge is visible and adhered the combined piece to the center of an A2 card front.

I die-cut the mug and straw from the Summer Jar Mug Dies from white cardstock and added some Copic colored details. I die-cut the ice cubes from vellum. I inked the lemon and slices from the Fresh Lemon Dies using Simon Says Stamp Lemonade and Sunbeam inks and added some gray Copic details to the white portions of the slices.

To finish, I die-cut 2 flowers and flower centers from white cardstock using the Strawberry Patch Dies and colored them with Copics. I added the flower centers as blush to my lemon. I stamped sentiments from the Punny Fruit Greetings Stamps on strips of pink cardstock and heat embossed the “lemons” sentiment with white embossing powder on white cardstock. I then inked over the sentiment with Lemonade and Sunbeam inks and fussy cut around it. I adhered the “lemons” and “make lemonade” sentiments with foam dimensional tape.

Guest Designer Spotlight: Card with Ashlee Bellinger

Hey there Sunny Studio friends. It's Ashlee here with a new guest post for the lovely Sunny Studio Stamps. I have had a blast creating with a bunch of the new fruity-inspired products so today I am sharing two fruity cards using these stamps and dies.

To create these cards I made them both using the same layout but with different colours of cardstocks and bowls. 

I chose my cardstock base colour and then added a white die cut piece using the rectangle die from the tag die set before adhering it to the card base using foam tape which is how I started to add my dimension.

I stamped the sentiments from the Punny fruit greetings set by stamping the first part of the sentiment onto the white rectangle cut and then the second part of it directly onto the lower part of the card base!

Once that was done I die-cut all the pieces I needed to create a lovely strawberry bowl. Using a white gel pen I added little seed dots to the strawberries. Aren't they just adorable?

For this second card, I chose a blue card stock base and added a lovely bowl of Lemons that are ready to squeeze.

Aren't these new die cuts just so cool, I love how fun they are and fruity bowls look so good, right?! There are so many variations of bowls you could make to go with the punny fruit greetings!

To complete both of the cards I finished them off with a touch of pretty sequins adhered with glue dots.

Beach Bus Card with Nicky

Hello! This is Nicky with you today on the Sunny Studio Blog. I have a fun Summer themed card to share with you today, featuring the new Beach Bus Stamps so please read on to learn all the details.

I kicked things off by creating a panel of white cardstock which I softly ink blended to create some sand and sky using Scattered Straw and Salvaged Patina Distress Oxide Inks. I splashed the panel with some Perfect Pearls mixed with a couple of drops of  water and I then used the Stitched Rectangle Die (listed and linked above) to create the faux stitched edge.

I applied this panel to a slightly large panel of cream cardstock and then I backed this with white craft foam and adhered it to a white A2 panel, then to the card base. I set this to one side.

I stamped the images from Beach Bus using Memento Ink in Tuxedo Black and I used the following Copic markers to colour the images:

Bus - BG32, G00, G000, G0000, E40, W00, T6, T5, T4
Mouse - T2, T0
Cat - YR24, E01, YR30
Sloth - E44, E43,
Pink - R22, RV23, R32, R20, RV00
Blue - FBG2, B00

I highlighted points with a white gel pen and then die cut using the coordinating Beach Bus Die. Images and sentiments were added to the background panel using dimensional foam tape. I added 4 white Nuvo drops as some finishing accents and with that, this card was complete.

Juicy Watermelon Card with Marine

Hello crafty friends, Marine here, I'm super happy to be back on the blog today with this bright summer card featuring a mix and match of items, including the Juicy Watermelon die set. I love that Sunny Studio has come with fruit dies for summertime (Fresh Lemon, Strawberry Patch, Wild Cherry) and I can't wait to share more cards with those brand new items.

For today's card, I started off by cutting bits and pieces out of colored cardstock to build three Juicy Watermelon slices, as well as tropical leaves using Summer Greenery, and tropical flowers using the free gift with purchase. I set all those elements aside, and stamped my images on 80lb Neenah solar white cardstock using an alcohol marker friendly black ink. I cut them all using the coordinating dies, and colored everything using my Spectrum Noir Illustrator markers and Graph'it brush markers.

Here is a detailed list of the stamp sets I used: • Panda Party for the pandas • Seasonal Trees + Sending Sunshine for the palm trees • Special Day for the hearts • Fabulous Flamingos for the leaves, flowers and watermelon slices • Tiki Time for the toucans and cocktails

Once the coloring was done, I cut a Strathmore bristol smooth slimline panel, covered it with saltwater taffy oxide ink, and used a stencil from my stash along with worn lipstick, festive berries, shabby shutters, mowed lawn and hickory smoke oxide inks to create a watermelon pattern. I splattered water on my panel that I dried using a paper towel, mixed some black soot oxide ink with water and used a small brush to make splatters on the paper, and did the same with copic opaque white ink.

Next I attached everything on my slimline panel using liquid glue and foam squares, leaving enough space for my greetings, and then worked on those greetings which are from Beach Bus. I embossed "Summer" on yellow cardstock and cut it using the matching die. And I embossed "Happy" and "Enjoy" on aqua cardstock, trimmed them into slim banners, and then attached those three pieces on my panel using 2mm foam squares. As always I added highlights and details to the images using a white gel pen, and finally applied white blizzard nuvo drops to the hearts to make them sparkle. 

And that's it! I love tropical scenes, so I had a lot of fun mixing and matching products on this Juicy Watermelon card, I hope you like it. Thanks so much for stopping by, and see you next time.

Build-A-Bowl Die Focused Card with Tina

Hello crafters, it’s Tina and for my shaped card today I am using the fun and versatile Build-A-Bowl dies (so many options!!) combined with the Strawberry Patch die set.

Let’s first create our card base and fancy frame from white card stock using the largest of the Scalloped Oval Mat 1 dies and a slightly smaller oval die from my stash.

For the background, I spritzed the top part with a mix of Distress Mica Stain Snow Flurries and Distress Spray Stain Tumbled Glass. The bottom consists of a beautiful blue gingham paper from Critter Country.

I glued the background pieces and frame to the card base and continued with a bunch of die cutting using the Build-A-Bowl dies and the Strawberry Patch set. The bowl and flowers were kept white but I added colour to all the other pieces with Distress Oxide Abandoned Coral, Squeezed Lemonade, Bundled Sage and Rustic Wilderness.

Then it was time to assemble the pretty bowl and fill it to the brim with delicious strawberries. The little white flowers gave that extra pop of brightness.

I knew I wanted a large word as part of my sentiment and the ‘Sweet’ die cut from Candy Shoppe was the perfect match. The ‘Birthday wishes’ stamped in Versafine Onyx Black ink is found in the same set.
