Paris Afternoon Card with Marine

Hello crafty friends, Marine here, I'm super happy to be back with this Bastille Day themed card to celebrate the French National Holiday which happens on the 14th of July each year. Of course I went with the colors of the French flag: blue, white and red, and used the perfect stamp set for the occasion: Paris Afternoon.

I started off by creating the background and used my favorite die from the Ribbon & Lace Borders die set, which is the strip die, to cut multiple strips out of blue, white, and red cardstock. I attached each strip in that order on a piece of scrap paper using liquid glue, and then used a 5,5 x 4,25 inches rectangle die to cut an A2 panel. To give my background more interest, I splattered white ink all over it. I mixed some prize ribbon oxide ink with water and added blue splatters to the strips with a slim brush. I did the same with lumberjack plaid oxide ink to add red splatters, and then I added sparkling droplets using liquid stardust.

Once my striped panel was totally dry, I stuck it to a white card base, cut a Comic Strip Everyday Dies frame panel out of light blue cardstock and attached that panel to my card using 1mm foam squares.

I stamped the images on 110lb Neenah solar white cardstock using an alcohol marker friendly black ink, cut them all using the matching dies and colored everything using a blue, white and red color palette for the parasol, balloons and macarons, but also green for the trees at the feet of the Eiffel tower and neutrals for the critters. Here is a detailed list of the stamp sets I used: • Paris Afternoon - table & parasol, chairs, Eiffel tower, street lamps, bottle of wine, glasses of wine, cheese, baguette, croissant, macarons, berets • Critters On The Go - bear, bunny, fox, scooter, small trees • Charming City - larger trees • Plane Awesome - clouds • Party Pets - balloons.

I added highlights and details to my images using a white gel pen, stamped "Bonjour" from Paris Afternoon in black directly on the strips, and finally attached all the images using 1mm and 2mm foam squares. 

And voilà! The card is all done and I had so much fun creating it with the French colors! I hope that you like it! Thanks so much for stopping, and see you next week.

Wicker Basket Card with Tina

Hi crafty friends, Tina here and I had so much fun creating this Wicker Basket filled with juicy lemons. The basket was initially designed as an Easter die set but of course it can be used all year round!

After creating a standard card base, I cut a white panel with the outer die from Frilly Frames Eyelet Lace. This set comes with its own detailed insert, but I switched to the Buffalo Plaid Diagonal die instead for that extra layer of interest (I just glued this embossed rectangle panel cut to size on top of the scalloped piece).

With my base finished, I could start die cutting the cute Wicker Basket (and bow), some Fresh Lemons and a bunch of leaves (Strawberry Patch). Yes, I did use strawberry leaves with the lemons, but that is the beauty of card making!

I placed the die cuts on my sticky mat and used Distress Oxides to add color to all these pieces (Squeezes Lemonade, Peacock Feathers, Bundled Sage, Rustic Wilderness, Kitsch Flamingo, Abandoned Coral).

Then came the tricky part, creating the composition of basket, fruit, and flowers. I positioned the basket near the bottom of the white panel and played around with the die cuts. Once I was happy, I could glue the elements in place, using a mix of foam squares and liquid glue.

My sentiment was taken from the Everyday Greetings set and stamped in Versafine Onyx Black ink. Adding a few Aquamarine Jewels finishes this sweet project.

Stitched Arch Die Focused Card with Amanda

Hey crafters! It’s Amanda here! Today, I’m sharing this fun summer card and how I made it! Keep reading to see all the products I used, Copic markers, and how I put it all together!

The first step to creating this card is to trim a piece of white cardstock to 4.25”x5.5”. Next, using some low tack tape, secure the largest of the Stitched Arch Dies in the center of the panel. Set this panel aside for later.

Next, grab 2 pieces of blue or teal cardstock for the waves. Using the Catch a Wave Dies, create 2 waves that are approximately 4” wide. Glue the waves together and then place foam tape behind them.

On an A2 card base, glue a piece of red cardstock directly to the front of it. Then, attach your waves with the foam tape. Place foam tape only on the upper portion of the arch panel.  Put glue on the bottom portion where it touches the waves. This will keep the arch panel level.

Grab your Ocean View and Kiddie Pool Stamp Sets, a MISTI or stamping platform, and alcohol marker-friendly black ink. Stamp the images with the black ink and then get your Copic markers ready!

Here are the Copic marker colors I used to color this scene:

Once coloring is complete, trim the images out with the coordinating dies or fussy cut them with scissors. Add some white highlights and dots with a white Gelly Roll pen.

On a small piece of black cardstock, stamp the sentiment with a WOW embossing pad, apply white embossing powder, and then melt the powder with a heat tool. Trim the sentiment into a strip and then create a flag/banner edge with scissors.

Glue the rocks and plants directly to the waves, having the edges poke out in front of the arch. Then, put 3D foam squares behind the girl, crab, shell, and sentiment strip and add them to the scene. Finally, glue a few of the Clear Jewels around the card to complete the card!

Fintastic Friends Shark Week Card Set with Mendi

Hello and welcome! This is Mendi here today, popping in to share some ocean-themed cards for summer using our Fintastic Friends Stamps, among several other sets.

For my first card featuring all the octopus, seahorse, jellyfish, and other ocean critters from our Fintastic Friends Stamps, I thought it would be fun to create giant bubbles using the negative space left behind using our Stitched Circle Small Dies and Stitched Circle Large Dies. You could also create a similar look with our Staggered Circle Dies. I then stamped the greeting from the set and added a number of the smaller bubble images as embellishments around the larger bubble window cutouts.

For my second card, I couldn't resist combining all the sharks from our Fintastic Friends Stamps, Best Fishes Stamps, and Sea You Soon Stamps together in one card to commemorate Shark Week. I wanted to create the look of portholes in a ship so I nested circles from our Stitched Circle Small Dies and Stitched Circle Large Dies, cutting them from metallic gold cardstock. I then lined them up on my glass mat and used the grid on the mat to mark off the spots with my Sharpie pen. I then used an X-acto knife to create small slits to slip in mini gold brads as the porthole rivets. I made sure to apply all the brads before adding the panel to my card front so the inside of my card would still be pretty. For my ship's "wall," I inked up a piece of woodgrain cardstock with Vintage Photo Distress ink and added a punny greeting from the Best Fishes Stamps, which I stamped onto our Brilliant Banner 3 Dies. I used a piece of ivory cardstock for my banner and inked it up with Antique Linen Distress Ink to make it feel like an old scroll. Lastly, I stamped some solid bubbles around the sharks using images from the Best Fishes set.

Wedded Bliss Card with Hanh

Hello Crafty Friends! This is Hanh on the Sunny Studio Stamps blog today with a sweet wedding card to share with you featuring these adorable penguins from the Wedded Bliss and Passionate Penguins sets. The guests are toasting the happy couple that opted for a warm, tropical destination wedding.

I stamped the penguins from the Wedded Bliss Stamps and Passionate Penguins Stamps, the extra tree from the Ocean View Stamps and the drinks from the Tiki Time Stamps sets onto a piece of Neenah Solar White 110 lb cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and used the coordinating Wedded Bliss Dies, Passionate Penguins Dies, Ocean View Dies and Tiki Time Dies to diecut them out. I also stamped the background image from the Ocean View Stamps onto another piece of Neenah White cardstock (4.25" x 5.5"). I colored the images with Copic markers and highlighted them with a white gel pen.

For the frame, I used the second largest die from the Stitched Rectangles Dies to diecut a window out of the center of a piece of white cardstock (4.25" x 5.5"). The frame was adhered to the colored panel with foam tape.

Wishing You Wedded Bliss! For the sentiment, I diecut the Brilliant Banner 3 Dies out of white cardstock. I diecut the center part of the banner twice to layer for a bit of dimension. I stamped the sentiment from the Wedded Bliss Stamps with Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto one of the center part of the banner. I adhered the parts of the banner to each other with liquid adhesive and the entire banner to the frame with foam tape for extra dimension. 

The penguins were adhered to the panel with foam tape. Finally, the panel was adhered to a white A2 cardbase (4.25" x 5.5").
