Convoy of Hope Fundraiser Update

I just wanted to pop in and let you know the results of our fundraising efforts.  With your generous support of our company over the past 5 days I was able to donate $1725 to Convoy of Hope's Feed The World Fund!  It's such a good feeling knowing that together we are helping to feed so people.

For anyone looking for a last minute tax deduction this year, they are a great organization to support. Now through December 31st someone out there has generously offered to match dollar for dollar up to $1 million which is pretty amazing.

Thanks again for helping make our fundraiser a huge success.

Little Angels Joy To The World Card with Eloise

Hi everyone! Eloise here and today I'm going to be making this soft angels card. Pastel colours are so hard for me, I love bright bold, rainbow colours - but for these angels, I felt they needed to be soft - so I tried my best to do that. I'm using the Little Angels stamp set along with the Semi Circles dies.

To start off my card today I stamped out all my images on some watercolour paper. I decided I would use my zigs today to colour - since I can get a better softer colour with them. So I used various colours and then once I had finished colouring, I used all the coordinating dies to cut them out. I then took another piece of watercolour paper, stamped and white heat embossed some stars from the same set and then ink blended some blue Distress Inks onto it, fading up to white. I then used the Semi Circle dies and die cut off the top of the piece to make it look like an arch.

I then took a piece of white cardstock and die cut a cloud border on it. Then I stuck it flat to the arch piece. Now I could assemble my card. I took the three clouds I cut and coloured and adhered them down flat onto the top portion of the arch panel. I then used foam adhesive behind the angels and stuck them next to each other. I then used liquid adhesive to glue down the book onto the middle angels hands.

I then took the sentiment banner I had prepared earlier - I just curved the sentiment stamp on my block to get it to fit nicely onto the banner and I adhered it down to the bottom of the arch panel. To finish up my card I took some plaid patterned paper and adhered it to my card base. Then took some fun foam and popped up my entire arch panel and adhered it to the middle of my card base. I then took some clear sequins and adhered them randomly onto my scene and added a little wink of stella on the angels and that finished up my card.

I hope you enjoyed my project today! Very different for me, but I think I like it. Thanks for stopping by and I'll catch you next time!

Merry Sentiments Christmas Lights Card with Stephanie Klauck

Hi everyone, it's Stephanie here and I'm thrilled to be back on the Sunny Studio blog with a new card to share. For today's card I used the new Merry Sentiments stamp set and the Merry word die to create a card using some non-traditional holiday colours.  I love that the light stamps layer to make them look more realistic and it gives them so much detail and dimension.

I first stamped and die cut all of my lights with green, aqua and pink inks and then I added them to silver glittery string to look like a string of lights going across the card. I added the merry sentiment die cut from silver glitter card stock and then stamped the rest of the sentiment above and below the die cut word with the same aqua and pink inks that I used on the lights.

I added the panel to a piece of plaid patterned paper that matched the lights perfectly and then adhered the whole panel to a green top-folding card base. To add some more detail to the lights, I coloured over all of them with a clear glitter marker and then I added Glossy Accents to all of them. I completed the card with a few clear sequins on the card front.

Thanks so much for joining me on the blog today! ;)

Guest Designer Spotlight: Christmas Cards with Francine Vuillème

Hi everyone!  Francine Vuillème here! I’m so glad to be back on the Sunny Studio blog as a guest. I have two cards for you today.

For my first project, I’m featuring the Blissful Baking stamp set.

This set is the cutest!!! Look at all those baking tools and ingredients . I decided to create a little scene in non-traditional Christmas colors. I colored all images with Copic markers and cut them out with scissors. I created the tablecloth with a gingham paper and sponged the background with blue ink. I adhered the images with foam pads to the table to create this sweet baking scene. The sentiment is from the Blissful Baking stamp set too and was stamped in black ink. To finish off my card, I fixed the scene with foam pads to a soft blue card base.

For my second project, I’m featuring the fabulous Holiday Style layering stamp set.

The bell looks so real, it's amazing! I decided to create a monochromatic card with a touch of red. I stamped the pine branch in light grey directly onto the card base, as well as the sentiment in black ink. I then stamped the bell, from the darkest to the lightest, onto a white panel and cut it out with scissors. I adhered the bell to the card base with foam pads for more dimension. To finish off my card, I made a cute little bow with a red and white gingham ribbon that I glued over the bell. I really like the elegant look of that color scheme. That red stands out so beautifully!

I hope you enjoyed this post! Thanks for stopping by and happy crafting!

Bundled Up Sweet Christmas Card by Lexa

Hi everyone! Lexa here with inspiration using the Bundled Up set featuring an adorable little penguin who will be today's star. I'm counting down to Christmas, the most festive of holidays with so many treats. I remember how my granny always baked for us on Christmas day.  Her special treat is pineapple tarts --They're super yummy!!  And I am taking that precious memory as today's inspiration. I paired up the little penguin with the Blissful Baking stamps and it's coordinating dies for today's card.

I came up with the idea of creating my grandma's kitchen scene. I started with a piece of 4.25" x5 .5" white smooth cardstock and create a background by blending some Worn Lipstick and Spun Sugar Distress Inks. Honestly, I stamped tiny flowers from Happy Home stamp on the background to make it kinda look like a wallpaper. But sadly, it didn't show up in the picture.

The kitchen cabinet is a 1" x 5.5" piece of polka-dot patterned paper, while the doors are 3/4" x 3/4". I stamped all the images with Versafine black ink on watercolor paper. And colored them with Distress Inks, after they all set up I gave some details with white gel pen and glossy accent. The penguin size is just perfect with the tray, together with some assorted cookies on it. Yum. Here's a closer look...
