Hello and welcome! This is Mendi here today, popping in to share some floral cards for Summer using our fabulous Poppy Fields Stamps.
First, I have a card using our Buffalo Plaid Diagonal Die and our Diagonal & Straight Stripes Stencils to create a red gingham background. I then lined up three stitched Rounded Rectangle Mat Dies in a row to frame four poppies from the Poppy Fields Stamps. I stamped the word "thanks" from the Big Bold Greetings Stamps in versafine onyx black ink and then sprinkled it with clear embossing powder while the ink was still wet to heat emboss it with a glossy finish. I then stamped and heat embossed the phrase "you've touched my life in so many ways" using a sentiment from the Words of Gratitude Stamps, which I stamped onto a black pennant strip from the Notebook Photo Corners Dies.
My second card featuring the Poppy Fields Stamps started by cutting a stitched white frame using our Rounded Rectangle Window Dies. I then backed my opening with a piece of black cardstock and heat embossed the words "miss you" from the Big Bold Greetings Stamps using white embossing powder with the words "from the bottom of my heart" using a phrase from the Words of Gratitude Stamps on the right-hand side. On the left side of my card, I built up a growing arrangement of poppy flowers utilizing all of the flowers, stems and leaves from the set. I don't typically stack white on black like I did here (it reminds me of wearing white shoes with black tights), but I took inspiration from a sales graphic I found on Google. I love the finished result and how the poppies pop against the dark background!
I am frequently asked which ink colors I used for my layered images. While I think there are so many great options out there, these are the colors I used today for my poppy images from light to dark:
Hero Arts Red Royal
Stampin' Up Lovely Lipstick
PinkFresh Studio Coral Reef
Hero Arts Pale Tomato
PinkFresh Studio Candy Apple
Concord & 9th Cranberry
Stampin' Up Lovely Lipstick
Green Leaves
Hero Arts Fresh Lawn
PinkFresh Studio Olive
Dark Green Leaves
Concord & 9th Parsley
PinkFresh Studio Evergreen
That wraps up my projects for this morning. I hope I've inspired you in your own cardmaking and that you spread a little happiness by sending out a card to a loved one today.💛
Also, please check out all the card ideas using these sets on each of their product pages. I always make sure to upload tons of card ideas following the product image, so there are lots of ideas to scroll through there, organized by set.
