Window Trio Heart Die Focused Squirrel Friends Card with Amanda

Hello friends! It’s Amanda here wishing you a VERY Happy New Year’s Eve! Is it too soon to make Valentine’s Day cards?! Well... I made one anyway using the new Window Trio Heart Portrait Dies! I’m excited to share it with you!

I made this mini slimline card using the Window Trio Heart Portrait Dies and the Squirrel Friends Stamps. To create this sweet little Valentine, I trimmed a piece of white cardstock to 3” x 6.75”. I also trimmed a gorgeous piece of blush pink cardstock to 2.75” x 6.5”. I ran this panel through my die cutting machine with the Window Trio Heart Portrait Dies. I also ran the die through with a darker pink cardstock, just so I could get the inner stitched hearts from that piece. 

I glued my blush pink cardstock panel to my white panel. Then, I adhered my darker pink hearts using 3D foam squares so they really popped!

Now onto those nutty little squirrels! I stamped the images from the Squirrel Friends Stamps and then colored them with Copic markers. Here are the markers I used:
Squirrels: E30, E31, E24, E25, E23, E25, E27, E29, W8, R02
Acorns: E11, E13, E15, E35, E37, E39

I cut out the images using the Squirrel Friends Dies. Next, I stamped my sentiments on a dark gray cardstock with a WOW! Embossing Pad. I applied WOW! Super Fine Opaque Bright White Embossing Powder to the glue. Then, I melted the powder using my heat gun.

I used scissors and a paper trimmer to cut out the sentiments. I used 3D foam squares behind all of the sentiments and images and then adhered them to the card. Finally, I used white paint to create dots all over the front of the card. After letting that dry, I glued my card front to a card base trimmed to 6” x 6.75”.

Window Trio Heart Die Focused Garden Critters Card with Leanne

Hello everyone! Leanne here to share a clean and simple Valentine's card featuring the Window Trio Heart Landscape die. 

I used the landscape version of this die and the inlay technique to create a heart filled panel that measures 4"x 5.25".  I adhered the panel to a light pink A2 size mat. I then filled each window with different shades of pink hearts die cut using the same Window Trio Heart Landscape die. 

Other Sunny Studio supplies used to create this card are listed below:

Icing Border dies - For the decorative wavy lines added above and below the hearts. 

Garden Critter stamp set and coordinating dies - For the butterflies and sentiment. 

Brilliant Banner 3 die -  For the die cut banner where I stamped the sentiment.

I used some warm grey Copic markers to add light shading to the banner. I colored the butterflies with R00, R20, R22, RV55, W1, & W3. 

For this simple design, the banner and butterflies can be placed anywhere on the card. I decided wanted a centrally balanced focal point and adhered them with foam squares right in the middle. To finish the design, I added a few sparkling clear sequins.

Window Trio Heart Die Focused Passionate Penguins Card with Hanh

Hello Crafty Friends! This is Hanh on the Sunny Studio Stamps blog today with a sweet shaker card to share with you featuring the new Window Trio Heart Portrait Dies. There are two sets of dies, Window Trio Heart Portrait Dies and Window Trio Heart Landscape Dies, that just became available yesterday. Both sets will die cut a set of three hearts with a beautiful faux stitching on the inside and outside of the cutting line.

Today I have used the Window Trio Heart Portrait Dies to create windows for my shaker card. I used the die twice to die cut a total of six heart windows into my piece of white cardstock (4.25" x 5.5"). I adhered a piece of clear acetate and some foam tape on the back side of the panel to create shaker wells. I added some heart shaker bits from my stash before closing the back with a piece of pattern paper from the Gingham Pastels Paper Pack.

Next, I stamped the penguin from the Passionate Penguins Stamps set onto a piece of Neenah Solar White 110 lb cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and used the coordinating Passionate Penguins Dies to die cut him out. I colored him with Copic markers and accented with a white gel pen.

For the sentiment and hearts, I used the Brilliant Banner 1 Die to die cut a banner out of teal cardstock and the Gift Card Envelope Dies to die cut the word "love" (twice) and some hearts out red cardstock. I layered and adhered the two "love" words to each other for a bit of strength and dimension. I stamped the word "sending" from the Holiday Hugs Stamps set onto the teal banner with the Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I assembled the banner die before adhering the word love onto it. 

I adhered the penguin and banner onto the card front with foam tape and the hearts directly onto the panel with liquid adhesive. Finally, the panel was adhered to a white card base (4.25" x 5.5").

Introducing Window Trio Heart Portrait and Landscape Dies

Hi there! I hope you all are enjoying a fun and relaxing holiday week. This week our team is transitioning from Christmas to Spring, featuring two new dies perfect for Valentine's Day and so many other everyday occasions. These two dies are available to purchase starting today, with our full Spring Sneak Peek Week kicking off on January 6th (and a January 10th release date for the remainder of the items).

Card No 1: Up first is a sweet Valentine's Day card using our new Window Trio Heart Portrait Dies, which I ran through my die-cutting machine twice to create a vertical grid-style card with the two rows of hearts. I added the adorable pandas from our Bighearted Bears Stamps to fill each window, which I colored with Copic Markers. I completed my card by stamping a punny sentiment from the set onto our Brilliant Banner 1 Dies, which I colored a bit with Copics on the bottom layer to give it more dimension. I should note that I stamped a polka-dot print using new Background Stamps, which I won't officially share until next week's Spring Sneak Peek Week.

Card No. 2: Next up is a sweet card featuring the new Window Trio Heart Landscape Dies. I used each heart opening to frame the sweet birdies and tree branches from our Love Birds Stamps. For my sentiment, I stamped a greeting from our My Heart Stamps. This was such a simple card to create, but I love the sweet simplicity of how it came together with the color scheme.

Card No. 3: For my next card with the Window Trio Heart Portrait Dies, I die-cut them from a piece of hot pink striped paper from our Striped Silly Paper pack and then cut an extra strip of pink dots from our Polka-dot Parade Paper pack, using the die again along the bottom to overlap the trio of hearts running down the right side of my card. I made sure to use a polka-dot strip of paper that was a bit oversized to give me the wiggle room I needed to line it up just right with the other hearts and the extra room to cut off any excess. I then colored the polar bear from our Holiday Hugs Stamps and stamped and colored four of the scalloped hearts from the set, using one for my bear to hold and the other three to layer inside the stitched heart windows. Lastly, I stamped the words "Be Mine" in the center of the bottom heart using the sentiment from our Love Birds Stamps with Versafine Onyx Black Ink.

Card No. 4: Next up is a card using both our Window Trio Heart Portrait Dies and Window Trio Heart Landscape Dies. I used the landscaped heart border to cut a row of hearts from my vertical card, allowing the hearts on either side to bleed off the edge. I then cut the bottom of my panel with a dotted scalloped heart edge using our Heartstrings Border Dies. Before mounting the panel to my card base, I added a strip of hot pink striped paper from our Sleek Stripes Paper pack along the bottom of my card and then filled the openings behind my two hearts on either side with a diagonal grid print from our Classic Gingham Paper pack. For my card's focal point, I assembled the chocolate bonbons from our Window Trio Heart Portrait dies, cutting the wrappers from shiny metallic silver cardstock. I then framed a trio of chocolates with the medium-sized hearts from our Stitched Heart 2 Dies and Scalloped Heart Dies. Lastly, I heat-embedded the sentiment "You're so Sweet" using our Candy Shoppe Stamps with sterling silver embossed powder.

Card No. 5: Continuing with the chocolate theme, I made another card using the bonbon dies from our new Window Trio Heart Portrait Dies, cutting the wrappers from shiny gold metallic cardstock. I turned to a soft pink cardstock in two complimentary shades and die-cut 8 small squares using our Stitched Square Dies to form a grid pattern, centering chocolate in each square. I mounted them onto a scalloped rectangle mat, which had been cut using our Frilly Frames Eyelet Lace Dies, and mounted that onto a pink panel background, which had been impressed with our Dotted Diamond Landscape Dies. Lastly, I heated embossed my greeting using a sentiment from our Candy Shoppe Stamps and Princess Gold Embossing Powder.

Card No. 6: By this point in my cardmaking, I had quite a few white stitched hearts left from cutting all my Window Trio Heart Portrait Dies and Window Trio Heart Landscape Dies from white cardstock panels. It's a nice bonus that nothing needs to go to waste, and these leftover stitched hearts can then be turned around and used on other cards. I inked them up using Picked Raspberry, Carved Pumpkin, Mustard Seed, Twisted Citron/Mowed Lawn, Peacock Feathers, Salty Ocean, and Wilted Violet distress inks before spritzing them with water and splattering them with watered-down picket fence spray stain.

I arranged the hearts onto an A2-sized white cardstock panel, but my sentiment felt like it was competing too much for attention with the brightly background so I then cut an oversized piece of vellum, which I folded around to the back of the panel and stitched in place with my sewing machine so I didn't need to use any adhesive that would show through. I then added a greeting from our Lovey Dovey Stamps which I stamped with VersaFine Onyx Black Ink and heat-embossed with Hero Arts Ultra Fine Clear Embossing Powder. Lastly, I added five tiny hot pink hearts around my greeting (stacking some of them to look like they had been popped up with foam tape or were made of chipboard) using the small heart dies from our Basic Mini Shape Dies 2 set.

I have so many more ideas swirling in my head for these dies that I hope to use with our other new spring products in the coming week. This includes more ideas for the landscape dies, which didn't get enough love in today's post.
