Crisp Apple Fall Cards with Mendi

Hello and welcome! This is Mendi, popping in to share some fall scene cards showcasing our Crisp Apple Dies.

My first card featuring the Crisp Apple Dies uses both the large apple and the apple core pieces in a clean & simple grid-style card. To achieve that gorgeous shine on my apple, I cut the pieces from white cardstock and then inked up the outside edges with Candied Apple and Fired Brick dstress inks, leaving a portion of the white cardstock uninked for the illusion of a reflection. For my background, I embossed a piece of Neenah Desert Storm cardstock using the Woodgrain Embossing Folder and then rubbed the surface with my Antique Linen distress ink pad, before using a blending brush to smooth out the coverage. For my greeting, I heat-embossed a sentiment from the Punny Apple Greeting Stamps onto a small pennant strip inked up to match from the Notebook Photo Corners Die (which I ran through my die-cutting machine twice to shorted a bit).

My second card pairs the smaller apple from the Crisp Apple Dies with the Wood Barrel Dies. I once again cut the main part of my green apples from white cardstock and then inked them with Squeezed Lemonade, Twisted Citron, and Mowed Lawn Distress inks. For my barrel I cut the wood slats of the barrell using kraft cardstock, inking the left edge of each with Vintage Photo distress ink by sliding a thin piece of printer paper between the slats as a mask. I then cut the metal bands from a matte silver metallic cardstock for a touch of realism. For my card background I trimmed a piece of green diagional green print from the Classic Gingham Paper pack. To frame my barrel of apples, I used the Stitched Oval Dies to cut a blue gingham print from that same paper pack and then layered it over the Scalloped Oval Mat 1 Die. I completed my card by cutting the Brilliant Banner 3 dies from white cardstock and inking them up with Blueprint Sketch Distress ink in an ombre to match the patterned paper. I then heat embossed my sentiment using another phrase from the Punny Apple Greetings Stamps.

Squirrel Friends Card with Hanh

Hello Crafty Friends! This is Hanh on the Sunny Studio Stamps blog today with a fun birthday card featuring these adorable Squirrel Friends. 

I stamped the images from the Squirrel Friends Stamps and some branches from the Little Birdie Stamps sets onto a piece of Neenah Solar White 110 lb cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I used the coordinating Squirrel Friends Dies and Little Birdie Dies to die-cut them out. I colored them with Copic markers and highlighted them with a white gel pen.

For the background, I took a piece of white cardstock (4.25" x 5.5") and die-cut three windows into it using circle the second and fourth largest dies from the Stitched Circle Small Dies and the third smallest die from the Stitched Circle Large Dies. Using this panel as a guide, I ink blended Tumbled Glass and Shabby Shutters Distress Oxide inks onto a piece of Bristol Smooth cardstock in the location of those windows. 

For the sentiment, I stamped the Happy Birthday sentiment from the Party Pets Stamps set with Versamark Watermark ink onto a piece of black cardstock and heat embossed with Detail White Embossing Powder. I used the coordinating Party Pets Dies to die-cut it out. I absolutely adore the sub-sentiment "You're a little nutty & I love it!" This came from the Squirrel Friends Stamps set and was stamped directly onto the panel with the circle windows with Memento Tuxedo Black ink.

I adhered the two panels to each other using foam tape. I adhered the sentiment and colored images to the front of the card with foam tape for additional dimension and interest. The card front was adhered to an A2 white card base (4.25" x 5.5"). I finished the card with a few Majestic Clear Confetti.

Farm Fresh & Happy Harvest Cards with Mendi

Hello and welcome! This is Mendi here today, popping in to share some fall cards featuring our Farm Fresh Stamps.

For my first card showcasing the Farm Fresh Stamps, I created a barnyard scene using the barn border, goat, duck, chickens, eggs, and hay box from the set. I framed the scene with a Stitched Circle Small Die and layered it over a yellow gingham background using the Buffalo Plaid Straight Die and the Diagonal & Straight Stripes Stencils. I then heat-embossed the punny greeting "Just chicken in" from the set onto the Brilliant Banner 2 Die, cut from red cardstock and inked with Candied Apple and Fired Brick distress inks.

For my second card featuring the Farm Fresh Stamps, I used the scarecrow and hay box from the set, with the sunflowers and crows from the Happy Harvest Stamps. I cut a rectangle from one of the Spellbinders Masking Sheets using our Stitched Rectangle Dies and then inked up a rectangle window in the center of my card using Broken China and Mowed Lawn distress inks to frame my scene. I love the clean and simple look that masking provides. I finished my card by stamping the "autumn blessings" greeting from the Happy Harvest set in the top right corner.

Clucky Chickens Farm Card with Mendi

Hello and welcome! This is Mendi here today, popping in to share an everyday card featuring our Clucky Chickens Stamps.

For my card, I started by coloring the background border with the rolling hills with the fir trees from our Scenic Route Stamps. I then layered another hillside cut from white cardstock using our Slimline Nature Border Dies which I inked up with Twisted Citron and Mowed Lawn distress inks, tucking a couple extra trees on the right side to balance my scene. I then added the blue sunburst print from our Spring Sunburst Paper pack and stamped the punny sentiment "I get by with a little help from my hens" from our Farm Fresh Stamps.

As I added each layer to my scene, I "trimmed" it down by die-cutting the layer with our Stitched Rectangle Dies, so when they were all layered together, they would have one cohesive stitched frame. I then populated the foreground of my scene with the hen house, box of hay, chickens, and chicks from our adorable Clucky Chickens Stamps. I love how this farm scene came together with all the different layered elements, many of which I must admit were already stamped years ago and just waiting to be used on a card--That always makes me feel so good to put them to good use!
