Majestic Meadow Card with Nicky

Hello there! This is Nicky back with you today on the Sunny Studio Stamps blog. I have a pretty birthday card to share with you and hope you keep scrolling for all the details.

In many ways, this card is all about the background which I created by stamping the Majestic Meadow Background Stamp on a panel of sturdy white cardstock with A2 dimensions. I then die cut the image using the coordinating die.

I took a second A2 panel of white cardstock and ink blended the sky using Shaded Lilac and Spun Sugar Distress Oxide Inks. I coloured the background image with the following Copic markers:

Distant Mountains - V91, W1
Hills - G12, G40, G20
Trees, Bushes and Tulip Leaves - YG45, G12
Tulip Blooms - V12, V01

I backed this image with dimensional foam tape and added it to the background. Next, I stamped the kitten and balloon images from Party Pets and coloured these with the following Copic colours:

Kitten - C3, C1, C0, R000
Blush - R22, R21, R20, R00
Balloons - V15, V12, V01, V000

The images were die cut with the coordinating dies and applied on a double layer of foam tape so that it really floated above the background.

For the finishing touches I stamped the Happy Birthday sentiment using 'Plum' ink from The Stamp Market and die cut the image and I applied it with foam tape.

I highlighted several points with a white gel pen. I die cut the white clouds without stamping them from the Majestic Meadow stamp and glued those in place and I applied a few sparkling clear sequin accents. This whole decorative panel was then glued to a slightly larger white card base and was then complete.

Rounded Rectangle Mat Die Focused Card with Marine

Hello crafty friends, Marine here, I'm so happy to be back on the blog with this bright and cheerful shaker card featuring some super cute chicks all gathered to celebrate Easter. Love those little guys and their chubby faces so much!

I started off by creating the whole shaker card base, and first cut a 4,5 x 3,5 inches Rounded Rectangle Mat panel out of a fun multicolored polka dot Summer Splash pattern paper, I cut two windows out of this panel using the third smallest Rounded Rectangle Window die, attached my panel to a piece of acetate and then trimmed the excess of acetate around my Rounded Rectangle Mat multicolored polka dot panel.

At the back of my multicolored polka dot panel, I added 2mm foam strips all around the windows and on the rest of the panel as well. I poured multicolored sequins into each window, removed the backing papers off the foam strips, and attached a Flirty Flowers green panel to the foam strips to totally close my shaker panel totally.

I attached my shaker panel to a 5,25 x 4 inches Gingham Pastels pink panel using liquid glue, next to a 5,5 x 4,25 inches Polka Dot Parade blue panel using liquid glue again, and then to a white card base to finish my shaker card base.

Next I stamped my images on 110lb Neenah solar white cardstock using an alcohol marker friendly black ink, I cut them all using the coordinating dies and colored everything using my Ohuhu markers and Graph'it brush markers. As always, here is a detailed list of the stamp sets I used: Chickie Baby (for chicks, basket, flowers, eggshells), Chubby Bunny (for the banner, flowers), and Spring Showers (umbrellas).

I added highlights and details to the images using a white gel pen, and then attached them to my card using 1mm and 2mm foam squares. And to finish it, I added glossy accents to the multicolored Chubby Bunny banner to make it super shiny.

Background Basics 2 Card with Tina

Hello crafters, it’s Tina and today I am making a sweet Easter card featuring the Background Basics 2 stamps, more specifically the large diagonal grid.

I selected a white card base and cut a rectangle background panel from white paper with the outer die from the Frilly Frames Stripes die. I love the scalloped edge, but to enhance this piece even more I added an ‘embossed look’ with the Dotted Diamond Portrait die. Next, I simply glued this panel to the card base as my first layer.

The adorable Big Bunny is going to be my main focal point of this card and I discovered that she fits perfectly inside the largest of the Stitched Ovals. This pieces was then decorated with the big grid from Background Basics 2 stamps and Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide. I deliberately kept some areas of the stamping lighter or even white.

For extra detail I glued this panel to a white Scalloped Oval Mat 1 piece and added the whole to the card with liquid glue. For the star of the show (the cutie from Big Bunny), the bouquet and the bow, I selected Copic markers in fun Spring colors matching the blue of my grid background. The combined sentiment is from the same set and stamped in Versafine Onyx Black ink.

To put the scene together, I cut a white strip with one of the Slimline Basic Borders and the largest of the Stitched Ovals to give this piece it’s rounded edges. I glued this piece in place and added the bunny with the bow and tulips. Lastly, I placed the sentiment on the bottom of the oval shape. As a final embellishment, I added a few Gold Jewels.

Party Pets Card with Amanda

Hey there, crafty friends, Amanda here! Oh, do I have a fun card to share with you today!  I LOVE a good beach scene and this one was SO fun to make! Grab your supplies and let’s make this card together!

First, grab a piece of white cardstock and trim it to A2 size (4.25”x5.5”).  Then, stamp the beach scene from the Ocean View Stamps. You want to position it leaving enough room at the bottom for the tiki bar and critters. Use the coordinating dies to cut the top of it off. Grab another piece of white cardstock trimmed to A2 size. On this panel, ink blend your sky. I used Oh Boy! from Catherine Pooler Designs.

Next, we’ll take a piece of white cardstock and stamp all of our remaining images. You’ll need the Ocean View, Tiki Time, and Party Pets stamps. We’re ready to color all of our stamped images now! I used Copic markers to color my images, but you could use your favorite coloring medium! I also used a white gel pen to create dots and highlights on the images. Once everything is colored, we can cut them out with their coordinating die sets!

For the sentiment, stamp a piece of black cardstock with the “Happy Birthday” sentiment from the Squirrel Friends stamps with a Wow! embossing pad. Apply white embossing powder to the glue and then melt the powder with a heat gun. Trim the strip with a paper trimmer and use scissors to create a banner end. Now we’re ready to assemble the card!

Glue the blue sky panel to an A2 card base. Apply 3D foam tape behind the beach scene and then add that to the card base.

Next, we’ll use 3D foam squares behind the rest of our images and sentiment. I like to start by placing all the images where I think I want them before removing the backing off the adhesives. Once I have everything placed where I like it, I can start removing the backing and adhering them to the card!
