Buffalo Plaid Die Focused Card with Leanne

Hi friends! Leanne here and I have a unique holiday card to share today. It's a mitten shaped card and it's so easy to make with the Woolen Mitten dies plus Buffalo Plaid Straight die

Sunny Studio Stamps: Buffalo Plaid Die Focused Winter Themed Card by Leanne West (featuring Woolen Mitten Dies, Inside Greetings, Diagonal Stencils)

To create the mitten shaped card base, I die cut two of the mitten - one for the front and one for the back. I then used the Buffalo Plaid Straight die to add the fun check texture to one of the mittens (this will be the card front). To add color to my plaid mitten, I used the Straight Stripes Stencil with Catherine Pooler It's a Girl ink.

I then decorated the mitten front using all the dies included in the Woolen Mitten set (poinsettia, leaves, cuff, buttons). After I had the mitten front decorated, I splattered with thinned white paint.

On the back mitten piece, I scored a line towards the top of the mitten. I adhered the back to the front by applying the glue only above the score line. This creates a hinged card as you can see in the photo below. I recommend stamping the inside sentiment before adhering the back to the front. It's much easier before it's attached to the front especially with the dimensional decoration on the front.

For the outside and inside sentiments, I used the Inside Greetings Seasons stamps.

Brilliant Banner 3 Die Focused Gift Cards with Hanh

Hello Crafty Friends! It's Hanh here with you on the Sunny Studio Stamps blog today. I can't believe that it is less than two months until Christmas. I can see it already. In the blink of an eye, the holidays will be here and I will be scrambling for some last-minute gift ideas. And for some reason or other, gift cards are always amongst some of those last-minute gift ideas.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Brilliant Banner 3 Die Focused Holiday Gift Cards by Hanh Nguyen (featuring Gift Card Envelope Dies, Roly Poly Penguins, Woolen Mittens, Inside Greetings)

Today I'm going to share a gift card holder tag idea for all of those gift cards for the holidays. I am using the Gift Card Envelope Dies that I have decorated with the Brilliant Banner 3 Dies, a Roly Poly Penguin and some elements from the Woolen Mitten Dies.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Brilliant Banner 3 Die Focused Holiday Gift Cards by Hanh Nguyen (featuring Gift Card Envelope Dies, Roly Poly Penguins, Woolen Mittens, Inside Greetings)

I stamped the penguin from the Roly Poly Penguin stamp set onto a piece of Neenah Solar White 110 lb cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and used the coordinating Roly Poly Penguins Dies to it out. I colored him with Copic markers and accented with a white gel pen.

COPIC COLORS:
Penguins: T3/5/7/9, W00/0, Y38 YR04, R00/20
Red: R22/24/27/29/39
White: C00/1/3

I used the Gift Card Envelope Dies to die cut 3 envelopes out of colored cardstock. I also die cut some snowflakes, leaves, berries and flowers using the Woolen Mitten Dies. I used the Build-A-Tag #2 Dies to die cut 3 hole reinforcements, I assembled the envelopes and used a hole puncher to create holes for the twine.

I die cut the Brilliant Banner 3 Dies 3 times out of a red cardstock. I stamped sentiments from the Inside Greetings - Holiday and Feeling Frosty stamp sets with Versamark Watermark ink onto the banners before white heat embossing. I assembled the banners and attached them to the tags with liquid adhesive before adding some highlights with a white gel pen.

I decorated the envelopes and added some highlights with a white gel pen and some yellow Nuvo Drops for the center of the flowers. Finally, I added some twine to each of the tags. And now they are ready to be added to a present, gift bag, wine bottle or hung up on the Christmas tree.

I appreciate you taking the time to stop by and visit today. I hope you liked my gift card holder tags. Be sure to check out the Sunny Studio Stamps Shop for more info and inspirations. Please also visit my INSTAGRAM feed for more inspirations.

Guest Designer Spotlight: Roly Poly Penguins Cards & Tag with Michelle Short

Hello there, Michelle Short here and I am delighted to be guest designing on the Sunny Studio blog today using the 2024 holiday release! I fell in love with the Roly Poly Penguins, so most of my projects use those, but I do have a bonus project to share at the end too!

Sunny Studio Stamps: Roly Poly Penguins Winter Themed Holiday Card by Michelle Short (featuring Buffalo Plaid Dies, Snowmen In Sweaters, Inside Greetings)

I started off my first project by stamping one of the penguins and candy canes from Roly Poly Penguins, as well as the two trees from Snowmen in Sweaters (I stamped the smaller one twice) onto white cardstock using black ink. I coloured them using Copic Markers before die cutting them out using the coordinating dies. I die cut a heart from white cardstock and then stamped the sentiment in the right-hand corner from the Inside Greetings Seasons stamps.

This sentiment is part of a larger one, so I had to do a bit of manoeuvring and masked off some words to stamp 'happy Christmas' using Versamark Ink. I applied White Embossing Powder and heat set. I then masked off the bottom part of the heart using paper that I had cut into a slope shape with scissors. I blended Distress Inks above (Salty Ocean, Prize Ribbon, Chipped Sapphire and Seedless Preserves), removed any excess ink from the embossed sentiment with a cloth, and then moved the mask down to create snow drifts below. I ink blended these with the residual Seedless Preserves Ink on my brush.

I masked off the bottom part again and splattered white paint above to look like snow fall. I then placed the Buffalo Plaid Diagonal Die on top of a panel of white cardstock and ran it through my die cutting machine to cut the pattern into the cardstock. It was adhered to an A2 sized (4.25" x 5.5") white card base. The heart piece was then adhered on top with foam tape, followed by the tress, candy cane and penguin. To finish, I added a few white gel pen highlights to the penguin.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Roly Poly Penguins Winter Themed Holiday Tag by Michelle Short (featuring Build-a-Tag Dies, Inside Greetings)

For my next project, I thought that the penguin showing just the top half of his body would work great for a tag. I first cut the base of the Build-A-Tag #1 dies from white cardstock, as well as the topper piece and eyelet. I added ink blending to the base layer with the same Distress Inks that I used on the card, but with a slightly heavier hand this time. I splattered white paint on top and set it aside to dry. I also blended the same inks to the eyelet piece (to match the sky).

Whilst the tag was drying, I stamped the penguin from Roly Poly Penguins onto white cardstock using black ink. I coloured him with Copic Markers and die cut him out using the coordinating dies. The sentiment, from Inside Greetings Seasons, was stamped onto black cardstock and heat embossed with white embossing powder.  It was then cut into two strips. I adhered the topper piece to the tag, followed by the eyelet with liquid glue. The penguin and sentiments were adhered using foam tape. To finish, I threaded twine through the top of the tag and tied in a bow.

I couldn't resist making another card with another penguin (they are too cute!), so I stamped another from Roly Poly Penguins onto white cardstock using black ink. He was then coloured using Copic Markers and die cut out using the coordinating dies. The sentiment, from Inside Greetings Seasons, was stamped onto black cardstock using Versamark Ink. I applied white embossing powder and heat set. It was then cut into a strip.

For the card base, I took a panel of red cardstock and die cut it using the Buffalo Plaid Diagonal Die. I placed the Diagonal Stripes Stencil on top and added ink blending using a slightly darker red shade of ink than the cardstock. I did this twice for both diagonals of the plaid. It was adhered to an A2 sized card base, and the penguin and sentiment simply adhered on top with foam tape. To finish, I added white gel pen highlights to the penguin and a little black glaze pen to his eyes.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Merry Mocha Gift Tag by Michelle Short (featuring Scalloped Tag Dies)

My last project today uses the Merry Mocha stamps & coordinating dies. I first stamped the coffee cup, as well as the sentiment, from the Merry Mocha set onto white cardstock using black ink. I coloured the coffee cup using Copic Markers and die cut both out using the coordinating dies. I thought it would be fun to create a gift card holder, so I took the largest of the Scallop Tag Circle Dies and cut it three times from white cardstock.

Two of them were adhered together back-to-back and I cut the third one in half. I stamped a sentiment from Inside Greetings Seasons onto the one cut in half using black ink and adhered it to the back of the other ones, but only added adhesive to the outside edges, so that I could create a pocket for the gift card to fit into.

I adhered the coffee cup and sentiment to the front of the tag and tired twine in a bow at the top. I added Christmas Red Stickles to the berries and then embellished with silver gems to finish. The gift card was then popped inside the pocket.

I hope you have enjoyed seeing my projects today using the holiday release. Thank you so much for stopping by, I hope you have a wonderful day!

Brilliant Banner 4 Die Focused Card with Nicky

Hello everyone this is Nicky with you today on the Sunny Studio Stamps blog and I have this new card to share with you which features both new and old Sunny products.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Brilliant Banner 4 Die Focused Passionate Penguins Card by Nicky Meeks (featuring Min Mat & Tag Dies, Diagonal & Straight Stripes Stencils, Buffalo Plaid Dies, Basic Mini Shape Dies)

I die cut an A2 panel of white cardstock using the Buffalo Plaid Diagonal Die. I then layered the diagonal stencil, using the Diagonal & Straight Stripes Stencils, from the set of 2 over this panel and ink blended with Spun Sugar Distress Oxide Ink. I turned the stencil to the other diagonal and ink blended again. This panel would form the backdrop to my card and was glued to a card base.

I die cut more white cardstock using the Mini Mat & Tag 1 Die. I masked just inside the stitched line and ink blended with Salvaged Patina Distress Oxide Ink fading it out to nothing toward the bottom. I backed this panel with a panel of white craft foam and adhered it centred on the card base.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Brilliant Banner 4 Die Focused Passionate Penguins Card by Nicky Meeks (featuring Min Mat & Tag Dies, Diagonal & Straight Stripes Stencils, Buffalo Plaid Dies, Basic Mini Shape Dies)

I stamped and coloured the image from Passionate Penguins.  I used the following Copic markers:

Penguins - T7, T6, T5, C3, C1, C0, Y38, YR04
Car - RV55, RV23, R21, RV10, C3, C1, C0, T3, T2, T1, BG11, G00
Tires - T7, T6, T5
Steering Wheel - E44, E43

The image was die cut, using the Passionate Penguins Dieand applied with dimensional foam tape. I die cut and glued together the Brilliant Banner 4 Die. I coloured the little parts that show 'the back' with R21 and T1, I stamped the sentiment and then applied the banner to the card with foam tape.

To pretty things up even further I chose a couple of flower images from some of the Basic Mini Shape Die sets and I die cut pale pink, pale blue and white cardstock several times so that I had a bunch of flowers to choose from in different colour combinations and then I glued them to the corners of the feature panel.

Another card done and I will be back here on the blog next Friday with something brand new.  Enjoy a wonderful weekend!
