Barnyard Buddies Simple Farmyard Charm Card with Nancy

Hey everyone, it's Nancy here. Who doesn't love a good farm theme? There is a certain mix of charm and nostalgia that a red barn lends to a handmade card. The Barnyard Buddies stamp set has a perfect mix of cute animals and icons that are great for creating a farm yard scene. Let's take a look a closer look at what we can do with this set!

Sunny Studio Stamps: Barnyard Buddies Simple Farmyard Charm Card by Nancy Damiano

The background is simple with just a wash of Distress Oxide Ink in Mowed Lawn. A very faint pattern of grass was then stamped onto the wash of color to add some texture. All of the stamped images were colored with Distress Inks. Using very little water was key in keeping the colors from looking too washed out - I love the bold color! Each stamped image with cut out with the coordinating dies and some were placed on foam tape and layered to create the scene. The cute sentiment was stamped just next to the barn to tie the design together. Notice the birdie on his back? That's my nod to the "funny farm" greeting.

My favorite part of the card is this chick and haystack wrapped in fiber. It adds a nice textured look to this simple card and a touch of whimsy to the design. Lastly, a few clear and yellow sequins were added just above the sentiment.

Happy Owl-O-Ween Nighttime Witch Owl Card with Eloise

Hi friends, Eloise here and today I'm using the Happy Owl-O-Ween stamp set. This set is so super adorable with all the dress ups and the best part is, it doesn't even need to be used specifically for Halloween, with all the options for the dress ups and even the sentiments that are included, there are a wide variety of cards you can make with it.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Happy Owl-O-Ween Nighttime Witch Owl Card by Eloise Blue

For my card today, I am going to be making a Halloween card, even though we don't celebrate here I love the colours and designs you can do for it, so that's why I'm making one today. To begin I stamped out all my images that I wanted to use from Happy Owl-O-Ween and then I also brought in some older stamp sets Halloween Cuties for the broom, pumpkin and bat and also the Harvest Happiness for another pumpkin. I coloured all my images in with Copic markers and then cut them out using the coordinating dies.

For my background I used several Distress Inks and blended them from black to blue to purple and then splattered water on top to give a waster splotch effect. I dried it off with a heat tool and then did the same steps but with green Distress Ink for the grassy hill. I also cut that down with a border die also. I adhered the grassy piece to the background and then adhered on my images.

For my images I adhered them with foam tape for more dimension. I also decided to make my owl have a cape also, so I quickly coloured and cut the front and back piece for the cape and adhered that to my owl also. Last up was the sentiment. I prepped the background with an anti-static bag and then white heat embossed the sentiment 'Happy Owl-O-Ween' onto the right hand side of the background.

Thanks so much for stopping by today and I'll catch you all next time!

Guest Designer Spotlight: Cards with Anita Madden

Hello, it’s Anita Madden here. I’m excited to be guest designing for Sunny Studio Stamps today. I adore these new stamp sets by Mendi! I’m using two sets from the new release:  Happy Owl-o-ween and Missing Ewe. I also used some elements from the Halloween Cuties set. I used the coordinating dies from all three sets.

For my first card I colored all the images with Copics. The owl and witch costume are from Happy Owl-o-ween and the broom and bats are from Halloween Cuties. I die cut the images with the coordinating dies. I sponged distress inks onto watercolor paper that is 4 ¼ x 5 ½ and a watercolor paper circle. I misted them with water and dried them with a paper towel. I stamped the sentiment on the moon and then adhered all the images with foam tape for some dimension.

For my second card I used the owls and costumes from the Happy Owl-o-ween set. The spider web, spider, and bats are from the Halloween Cuties set. I colored all the images with Copics and die cut them with the coordinating dies. I sponged distress inks to create the grassy area, and then used distress inks and a stencil to create the clouds. I stamped the spider web directly onto my card and adhered all the other images with foam tape. I applied Glamour Dust to the bee’s wings and antennae, and the fairies wand for a bit of sparkle.

For my last card I used the Missing Ewe set. These little sheep are so cute! I colored them with Copics and die cut them with the coordinating dies. Once again I used distress ink to sponge the grass, and used distress inks and a stencil to sponge the clouds. I stamped a little heart in the area where the missing ewe would be standing.

I hope you’ve enjoyed my cards. Thank you Mendi for having me as a guest!

Pretty Pumpkins Burlap Backed Pumpkin Card with Lexa

Hello everyone, it's Lexa here! Today I'm going to share a card that full of autumn vibes. I believe that all of you have smitten by Sunny Studio's layered stamps from previous releases, and this brand new Pretty Pumpkins Stamp is not an exception. This set is absolutely a star - just gorgeous!

Sunny Studio Stamps: Pretty Pumpkins Burlap Backed Pumpkin Card by Lexa Levana

I always get help from a stamping tool to create perfect layered images. I stamped the pumpkins in three shades of orange dye inks, starting with the lightest one to the darkest. Then I finished each pumpkins with a green stem and then die cut each of them with the coordinating dies. After I finished with them, I arrange all three on top a piece of burlap with some foam tapes. I made some loops from broken white strings and adhere it messily behind the pumpkins.

I created the background with blending Wild Honey Distress Ink and used a woodgrain stencil, along with some Ripe Persimon Distress Ink, to create a patterned paper. Somehow I felt this card was too orange, so I decided to layer a kraft paper behind the burlap to add more brown and autumn feel to it. Look how beautiful those pumpkins are from up close! Looove it.

I stamped the sentiment from Autumn Greetings with brown dye ink on the top right of the card. I totally adore the handwritten font. Perfection. Don't forget the sparkling clear sequins for the finishing touch, as I am obsessed with them.

Thank you so much for stopping by today. I hope you like my card, have a wonderful day everyone!

Cute As a Button Threaded Button Friendship Card with Vanessa

Hi everybody! Vanessa here today with a card using Cute As A Button and the Sew Word DieStamping those buttons can become so addictive, I had to stop myself :)

Sunny Studio Stamps: Cute As a Button Threaded Button Friendship Card by Vanessa Menhorn

For my card, I chose three colors for my button collection combined with a simple black and white design.

I started with a panel of polka dot patterned paper that I had trimmed slightly smaller than the black card base. Now I die-cut the "sew" from black cardstock and black foam tape, assembled the words and adhered them to the card. Next, I stamped and heat-embossed the sentiment onto a strip of black cardstock, trimmed it and adhered it.

After I had stamped and die-cut the buttons, I threaded them with black twine and adhered them to the card, using foam tape for the top ones.

I hope to have inspired you with today's design! Thank you for stopping by!
