Sock Hop: What's Shakin'? Card with Anni

Hey stampers, Anni here with a card using the stamp set Sock Hop and the coordinating dies.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Sock Hop What's Shakin' Ice Cream Soda Card by Anni Lerche.

I love the extra word die in the coordinating die set and decided to create a background with the word cool. I die cut several words from coral, pink and aqua cardstock. I didn't used always the same cardstock, just the same shade of color. It is perfect to use up your scrap (or should I say a few of them?). For perfect alignment I drew lines with a pencil. Then I adhered the die cuts to the card base.

For the focal point I went with a small images because I didn't want to cover too much of my background because it took quite some time to create it. I stamped both ice shakes from the stamp set, did some fast Copic coloring  and die cut them with the matching dies.
I die cut a circle from matching cardstock and assembled the card.

Sock Hop Diner Style Card with Eloise

Hi everyone, Eloise here today and I'm here making a fun Diner style card using more images from the Sock Hop stamp set. I love this set, it's so super fun and as soon as I found out about this stamp set I had the idea of using the picnic blanket from the Summer Picnic set as the Diner floor.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Sock Hop Jukebox & 1950's Diner Inspired Card by Eloise Blue.

To begin my card today I started off with the floor since I knew it would be the most time consuming part. For this I used my MISTI tool but by all means you could do this with an acrylic block, I just found it a little easier using this tool. Since the picnic blanket image has some extra lines at the bottom to make it look thicker, I had to do some masking to make sure this didn't disrupt my image stamping. Since it was straight though, I just used some post it notes for this, but you could use just about anything. So I stamped down my first image in the left hand bottom corner of the card, then I would clean off my stamp and reposition it next to the part I just stamped. I would then use my post it notes to mask off the outer edges of my already stamped image and then stamp down again.  When I finished my bottom layer of stamping, I moved my stamp above and stamped again until the background was completed. I hope this is making sense.

Once the floor was stamped, I also stamped out the little characters in the set along with the jukebox, guitar and music notes. I then coloured all these elements in with some Copic Markers. Once they were coloured, I die-cut them out.

For the top portion of my tiled background I decided to make it red. So I masked off the tiles at the bottom and used a couple of red Distress Inks to ink blend the top of the panel. For the sentiment I used the 'What's Shakin'?' sentiment from the same Sock Hop stamp set and white heat embossed it onto a piece of black cardstock. Now it's time to arrange my card. I adhered down all the images using some foam adhesive for added dimension, along with the sentiment. I then popped up the entire panel on a sheet of fun foam and then adhered it down onto a card base and that finished up my card.

Thanks for stopping by today and I hope you enjoyed my card today and got inspired. I had a lot of fun making this card today and I love it when stamps can be used in various different ways. Make sure you check out the blog this week to see how everyone else used this stamp set.

Guest Designer Spotlight: Baby Bear Card with Stephanie Klauck

Hello everyone, it's Stephanie here and I'm thrilled to be back on the Sunny Studio Stamps blog with a baby card that I created with the new Baby Bear stamp set. As soon as I saw this stamp set I knew that I would be making a ton of baby themed card with it. There are so many great images and sentiments that work so great together.

To create my card I first created a background scene with Bristol cardstock and 3 shades of Distress ink (Peacock Feathers, Mowed Lawn and Twisted Citron). I die-cut all of the pieces and then I added the colour with an ink blending tool. Once I had them all inked up, I spritzed some water onto all of the pieces and then dabbed it up with a paper towel to create some texture.

I stamped and coloured all of the images that I wanted to use in the scene and then I cut them out with my scissors. I also stamped, coloured and cut out the tree from the Summer Picnic stamp set to use in the scene.

I added some twine from behind the tree and adhered the baby bear wrapped in the blanket onto it and then I padded the rest of the bears in the grass. I stamped the sentiment directly on the card front and then I added some clear sequins to complete the card.

Thanks so much for joining me on the blog today!

Baby Bear Watercolored Panels Card with Lexa

Happy Friday everyone! Lexa here with another sweet baby card using Baby Bear stamps and coordinating dies. I create watercolored square panels and lots of cute baby stuff for my card. I just can't resist all the adorably tiny little things on this set!

Sunny Studio Stamps: Baby Bear Watercolored Grid-Style Card by Lexa Levana.

I start my card by creating watercolor backgrounds in blue, yellow and green on a piece of watercolor paper. I then cut 6 panels with a basic stitched square die. I love the color combination! Then I stamped all my images in Versafine Onyx Black and watercolored them with Distress Markers. I also create some details with a white gel pen--it always adds extra something. The onesie, milk bottle, diaper pin, a pair of tiny socks, and a blue polka-dot sleepsuit...aren't they the cutest?

Coordinating dies surely make everything easier, but sometime I need to fussy cut them as I did on the blue bib. So it looks like a built-in stamp, I was inspired by Mendi's cards, she does it a lot. Finally I tied brown twine on the top, it matches my baby bear perfectly.

I hope you like today's card. Have a great weekend!

Baby Bear Sweet Bundle Card with Vanessa

Hey everybody!  Vanessa here with a card using the sweetest Baby stamp set "Baby Bear" and its coordinating dies

This set offers so many possibilities, I had problems deciding what to create first! Here comes my project for today:

Sunny Studio Stamps: Baby Bear Sweet Bundle Card by Vanessa Menhorn.

I first trimmed a piece of patterned paper slightly smaller than my Kraft card base, wrapped green twine around it and adhered it to the card with foam tape. Now I stamped the cute images, colored them with watercolors, die-cut them with the matching dies and adhered them with foam tape. I stamped and heat-embossed the sentiment onto a strip of green cardstock, trimmed it and adhered it to the card. Finally I added red enamel dots.

Don't you love the adorable little images? I think this set is perfect. I hope you liked my card today! Have a wonderful rest of your week and thanks for visiting!
