Hello crafty friends, Janneke here. Today I’m sharing a cozy card featuring the Aftenoon Tea stamp set.
This time I created a fun little scene card using the masking technique, although you could absolutely recreate this scene with the coordinating dies as well. Before I started stamping, I placed all the stamps onto the card panel first to get an idea of where I wanted everything to go.
When stamping, I carefully paid
attention to the stamping order, because honestly, that still goes wrong for me
sometimes. For this card I used the Afternoon Tea and the Foxy Friends stamp sets.
Once the images were finished, I
started working on the background. First, I stamped the floor using the Sprawling Surfaces stamp and brown ink.
Originally, I made the rest of the background completely grey, but I felt it
looked a little too plain. So I decided to stamp the Background Basic 2 stamp over it using the same
grey ink. I absolutely love how subtle, yet playful, the background turned out.
After finishing the background, I
removed all the masking paper and colored the images with my Ohuhu markers. I
also added some extra shading on the floor using a brown marker to create more
depth and dimension.
To finish the card, I stamped the
sentiment from the Afternoon Tea stamp set and added a few
highlights with a white gel pen. Finally, I mounted the colored card onto blue
cardstock and adhered everything to a white card base.
Card done, ready to send joy! Thanks for joining me, and see you next week.
