Happy Owlidays Card with Amanda

Hey, Sunny Studio Stamp friends, Amanda here! Only 9 more days until Christmas! Whenever I’m invited to a Christmas party, I like to have some holiday cards on hand to write a thank you note for the host! I save these special cards for special people! This card will definitely be saved for someone special! It wasn’t hard to make, either! Grab your Happy Owlidays Stamps and craft along with me!

First, trim a white piece of cardstock down to 4.25” x 5.5”.  On this panel, ink blend some pinkish red colors together! I’m using Catherine Pooler Clay Mask and Polished inks. I’m keeping the center very light and getting darker as I move outwards. Once the ink blending is finished, spritz the panel with some water and set it aside to dry.

Next, we’ll stamp the images from the Happy Owlidays Stamps. These owls are just too stinking cute - and that bird with his little Santa hat!  Next, let’s color the images in. I’m using Copic markers and a gold Gelly Roll pen. Once you’ve got them all colored in, cut them out with scissors or the coordinating dies.  I’m using the coordinating dies to get a quick clean cut!

Now, let’s grab our pink panel and stamp our sentiments straight onto the background!  We’re also going to stamp the strings for the wreath and ornaments. To do this, I put 3D foam squares behind all of my stamped images and place them (without removing the paper backing) where I want them on the card. Then, I can position my sentiments and strings where I want them. Then, I remove the images while I stamp. Then, I remove the paper backing and start adding all of my elements to the card front.

To create that beautiful snow, I simply use a little tool that has a ball at the end of it, dip it into white acrylic paint, and then create dots all around the scene. I make some dots smaller than others so that it looks more realistic. Once that paint is dry, we can glue the panel to an A2 card base!

This card might be one of my favs that I’ve made this season! I think it’s the gorgeous pink and that snow! This one will be hard to give away!

Thanks for hanging with me today on the blog and make sure you come back tomorrow for more holiday inspiration!
