Designer's Choice: Ocean View Card with Amanda

Hey guys! It’s Amanda here with you on the blog today! I hope your week is off to a great start! Today, I’m sharing a card I made for my son’s 9th birthday! We will be in Myrtle Beach on Spring Break, so I made a card of our little family on the beach!

Sunny Studio Stamps: Ocean View & Kiddie Pool Summer Themed Birthday Card by Amanda Fitterer (featuring Beach Babies, Balloon Numbers)

To create this card, I took a piece of white cardstock and trimmed it to A2 size (4.25”x5.5”). I stamped the beach background from the Ocean View Stamps. I stamped it towards the top of the card so I’d have plenty of “beach room”!

Next, I stamped my little family from the Beach Babies and Kiddie Pool stamps. I colored all the images in with Copic markers. I added little white dots and highlights with a white Gelly Roll pen. Then, I die cut everything out with the coordinating die sets.

I colored my beach with Copic markers as well! I added little acrylic white paint dots in the sand, as well as dots with the Copic markers.

The “9” balloon comes from the Balloon Numbers Stamps. I stamped it first with Catherine Pooler Catching Rays ink. Then, with a small blending blush, I lightly applied Orange Twist around the edges of the stamp to give it a 3D look.

I put the balloon a foam mat and then used a needle to poke 2 holes in the balloon and one in the little boy’s hand. I threaded some white thread through the balloon and then wrapped it around the boys hand.

I put foam squares behind all of my images and then (before removing the backing), I placed the images where I wanted them to go. I don’t want to adhere them until I stamp my sentiment.

I put my card front in my MISTI and stamped the “Happy Birthday” from the Party Pets Stamps. Now, I can remove the backing from all the images and adhere them to the card front. The last step is to glue the card panel to a card base!

He’s going to love this card, don’t you think?! I hope you are inspired to create something today!
