I'm so excited to welcome Michelle Short to the blog today as our special guest. She has some gorgeous cards that
you are going to just love!
Hello
there, Michelle here and I am delighted to be guest designing with Sunny Studio
today. I have two underwater themed cards to share with you - one featuring the Oceans Of Joy set and one featuring the Magical Mermaids set. I had so much fun
creating these cards!
My
first card uses the adorable Oceans of Joy stamps, the coordinating dies, and
the Stitched Scallop dies. I started off by stamping the images from the Oceans
of Joy set on to some white cardstock, using black ink. They were coloured with
Copic Markers and then cut out using the Oceans of Joy dies.
I made a
background for my scene with Distress Oxide ink and water and then stamped the
sentiment at the top. I cut some waves using the Stitched Scallop dies from
vellum, varying the height of them and using the two sizes of scallops. I
assembled my scene and then popped my critters in to the waves with a
combination of foam tape and tape runner. To finish off, I added Glossy Accents
to the balloons.
Michelle created a video to go along with this card that you can view HERE.
My
second card uses the beautiful Magical Mermaids set. I decided to keep my card
really simple and use just one of the mermaids from the set, along with a
sentiment. I stamped the mermaid and the sentiment on to white cardstock and
then coloured the background first, with Copic Markers. The mermaid was then
coloured with Copic Markers too, adding dots of the glitter to her tail, top
and crown. I added a sheet of Doodlebug patterned paper to the front of an A2
card base and then added the image panel on top. To finish off, I added a few
sequins.
Michelle created a speed color video to go along with this card that you can view HERE.
A big thank you goes to Mendi and her team for having me guest with them today. I loved creating these cards with the super cute stamps. Thank you so much for stopping by today, happy crafting!
