Plane Awesome Card with Marine

Hello crafty friends, Marine here, I'm super happy to be back with this 4th of July themed shaker card featuring a mix and match of images from multiple stamp sets. I may not be an American citizen, but 4th of July cards have always been extra fun to create because you don't get to use this red, white and blue color palette on many cards.

So, as very often, I started off by stamping the images on 110 Neenah solar white cardstock using an alcohol marker friendly black ink, I used the matching dies to cut them all, and colored everything using my Ohuhu markers. And as always, here is a detailed list of the stamp sets I used: • Plane Awesome - plane, banner, clouds, pilot • Spring Showers - kids • Truckloads Of Love - flags • Bunnyville - tulips, grass • Scenic Route - houses • Spring Scenes - trees.

When the coloring was done, I added highlights and details to the images using a white gel pen. Next, I cut a 5,5 x 4,25 inches panel out of a Surprise Party starry blue paper, I darkened the edges using chipped sapphire distress ink, mixed some of that same ink with water and used a slim brush to add splatters to the panel, mostly on the edges, and then I did the same with copic opaque white ink.

While my starry blue panel was drying, I cut a 5,5 x 4,25 inches Strathmore bristol smooth panel, and created a very simple sky all over it using a cloudy stencil from my stash along with tumbled glass and salty ocean oxide inks. I splattered water on the panel, dried it with a paper towel, mixed some salty ocean oxide ink, prize ribbon oxide ink and candied apple oxide ink with water and used my slim brush again to add blue and red splatters to my cloudy background. I added white splatters as well, and once my panel was dry, I attached the Scenic Route houses at the bottom using liquid glue.

Once my starry blue panel was dry, I cut a large opening out of it using the second largest Rounded Rectangle Window die, leaving me with a starry blue frame. I attached this frame to a piece of acetate using liquid glue, I flipped my panel over and added foam strips all along the rounded window and along the very edges of my panel as well, I poured some Americana confetti on the acetate, peeled the backing papers off the foam strips, and then attached my cloudy panel to those strips to totally close my shaker panel.

I white heat embossed "Let your dreams soar" from Plane Awesome on the banner, and finally attached all the images to my card using 1mm and 2mm foam squares.

Puddle Jumpers Card with Tina

Hi crafty friends, Tina here, and although I have been enjoying a lot of sunny days lately, every now and then, the occasional Spring shower comes along! Great for our garden and refreshing for us all! Anyway, making a fun rainbow card has been on my list for a while. And what better set to use for such a scene than the happy Puddle Jumpers stamps and dies!

How cute is this little girl with her frog umbrella and all the sweet ducks! I also stamped the puddle twice. The clouds were selected from the Spring Showers set and I enjoyed coloring these images with my Copics in bright colors.

Creating the rainbow was a bit tricky. I didn’t have a stamp or die in that shape so I browsed through my stash and had an idea when I saw the Distinctive Doors die! This set contains a staircase with three steps. If I had two of these and glued them together onto a backing piece of card stock, I would end up with a straight mini rainbow! Coloring this piece was easy, I just had to mask each ‘step’ to add the right Copic color.

Now it was time to work on the design layers of this project starting with a white panel cut with the outer die from the Frilly Frames Stripes set. Next, I create a large white rounded rectangle (Rounded Rectangle Mat dies).

I am a huge fan of embossing folders they truly enhance any card design. And today, I stepped it up a notch by adding some Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide to the raised side of the Buffalo Plaid folder before running the white rounded piece through the die cutting machine. When I layered all the pieces onto a white card base, it felt a little flat. It needed a pop of color! I could not find any matching blue card stock, so I just colored the borders of a white card base with a Copic marker I had used previously for the clouds.  

To continue the happy vibe of this project, I stamped a sentiment from the Over The Rainbow set onto a white strip with Versafine Onyx Black ink. Adding a few Champagne Clear Jewels finishes this sweet ‘rainbow’ design.

Wedded Bliss Card with Amanda

Hey crafty friends!! It’s Amanda here with you on the blog today and I’m excited to share this card I made for a couple that is getting married! Keep reading to see how I made this sweet little scene!

On a card panel trimmed to 4.25” x 5.5”, I created my background using Copic markers. I simply swiped my markers from side to side across the panel, blending from darker to lighter shades. I added some dark gray dots to the ground with the same color Copic markers. The white dots were added using a white Gelly Roll pen.

Next, I stamped the palm trees from the Beach Bus Stamps with black ink. I also stamped my sentiment from the Wedded Bliss Stamps to the background.

On a separate piece of white cardstock, I stamped the penguins from the Wedded Bliss Stamps, the bus and luggage from the Beach Bus Stamps, and the balloons and gifts from the Party Pets Stamps. I colored the stamped images in with Copic markers and then die cut them out with the coordinating dies. I added some white dots and highlights with my white Gelly Roll pen.

I added 3D foam squares behind all the images and then adhered them to the card front. Finally, I glued the card panel to an A2 card base.

Summer Fruit-Themed Dies 4-Card Set with Mendi

Hello and welcome! This is Mendi here today, popping in to share some fruit-themed cards for Summer using a variety of dies and our Punny Fruit Greetings Stamps. Once again for all four of my cards, I stuck with a single design which I repeated, changing only the images, patterned papers, and the different greetings from the same stamp set.

Card No.1: My first card focuses on the strawberries, blossoms, and leaves from the Strawberry Patch Dies. For all of my cards today, I started by die-cutting a white scalloped panel 5-1/2" x 3-5/8" using the lacy edge die from our Slimline Pennant Dies set. I then added a stitched strip from Ribbon & Lace Border Dies. I had in my head that I wanted to add a ribbon bow without any bulk, but Sunny Studio doesn't have a die like this already in our line-up so I borrowed one from another company that was just the right size to match using Lawn Fawn's Platform Pop-up Dies. I added a diagonal green striped print from our Sleek Stripes Paper pack along the bottom of my card and stamped a sweet greeting to match my card's scene using our Punny Fruit Greetings Stamps with VersaFine Onyx Black Ink.

Card No. 2: My second card combines the lemon slices from the Fresh Lemon Dies, the Strawberries from the Strawberry Patch Dies, and the cherries from the Wild Cherry Dies. This time I switched out the patterned paper to match my lemon for a yellow gingham print from our Gingham Pastel Paper pack.

Card No. 3: For my next card I focused on using both seed variations from our Juicy Watermelon Dies, switching out my bow for a green one this time and opting for a red striped print from our Sleek Stripes Paper pack. I can't get enough of these fresh colors for summer! This card reminds me of one of my daughter's favorite Gymboree tops from way back when.

Card No. 4: Lastly, I have a card combining lemons and limes from our Fresh Lemon Dies with the wired basket from our Build-a-Bowl Dies. I added a coral-colored bow to match the one grapefruit citrus slice and a yellow striped patterned paper from our Sleek Stripes Paper pack. This particular scene took up more space than the others in my set, so I added a stacked sentiment "sending you a big squeeze" in the top right corner instead of all lined up below the scene like I did for my other cards.

Passionate Penguins Card with Hanh

Hello Crafty Friends! This is Hanh on the Sunny Studio Stamps blog today with a fun "just because" card  featuring images from the Passionate Penguins and Snail Mail sets. I simply adore these super cute penguins! And although the Snail Mail set is a small one, it really packs a punch ... fun images, wonderful sentiment and excellent price point! I love how these two sets play so well together. 

I stamped the images from the Passionate Penguins stamps and Snail Mail stamps sets onto a piece of Neenah Solar White 110 lb cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and used the coordinating Passionate Penguins Dies and Snail Mail Dies to die cut them out. I colored them with Copic markers and highlighted them with a white gel pen.

For the background, I took a piece of white cardstock (4.25" x 5.5") and diecut two windows into it using the second and fourth largest circle dies from the Stitched Circle Small Dies. Using this panel as a guide, I ink blended Spun Sugar, Kitsch Flamingo and Mowed Lawn Distress Oxide inks onto another piece of Neenah cardstock in the location of those windows.

You Make My Heart Smile! How sweet is this sentiment?! It totally melts my heart. It is certainly going to brighten the recipient's day! Even the mixture of the two fonts for this sentiment is just beautiful! I love it! I stamped this sentiment from the Snail Mail stamps set with Versamark Watermark ink onto a piece of black cardstock and heat embossed with Detail White Embossing Powder. I used a paper trimmer to cut it out. 

I adhered the sentiment and colored images to the front of the card with foam tape for additional dimension and interest. The card front was adhered to an A2 white card base (4.25" x 5.5"). I finished the card with a few Majestic Clear Confetti.
