Party Pets Card with Amanda

Hey there, crafty friends, Amanda here! Oh, do I have a fun card to share with you today!  I LOVE a good beach scene and this one was SO fun to make! Grab your supplies and let’s make this card together!

First, grab a piece of white cardstock and trim it to A2 size (4.25”x5.5”).  Then, stamp the beach scene from the Ocean View Stamps. You want to position it leaving enough room at the bottom for the tiki bar and critters. Use the coordinating dies to cut the top of it off. Grab another piece of white cardstock trimmed to A2 size. On this panel, ink blend your sky. I used Oh Boy! from Catherine Pooler Designs.

Next, we’ll take a piece of white cardstock and stamp all of our remaining images. You’ll need the Ocean View, Tiki Time, and Party Pets stamps. We’re ready to color all of our stamped images now! I used Copic markers to color my images, but you could use your favorite coloring medium! I also used a white gel pen to create dots and highlights on the images. Once everything is colored, we can cut them out with their coordinating die sets!

For the sentiment, stamp a piece of black cardstock with the “Happy Birthday” sentiment from the Squirrel Friends stamps with a Wow! embossing pad. Apply white embossing powder to the glue and then melt the powder with a heat gun. Trim the strip with a paper trimmer and use scissors to create a banner end. Now we’re ready to assemble the card!

Glue the blue sky panel to an A2 card base. Apply 3D foam tape behind the beach scene and then add that to the card base.

Next, we’ll use 3D foam squares behind the rest of our images and sentiment. I like to start by placing all the images where I think I want them before removing the backing off the adhesives. Once I have everything placed where I like it, I can start removing the backing and adhering them to the card!

Window Trio Heart Die Focused Card with Leanne

Hi there! Leanne here. Today I'm sharing a mini slimline thank card. This card features a trio of heart shaped windows that I've filled with some flowers and the cutest little bugs.

To recreate this design you will need the following Sunny Studio sets:

- Window Trio Heart Portrait die for the perfectly spaced column of heart shaped windows. 

- Garden Critters stamp set and coordinating dies for the bug & floral images plus the thanks a buzzillion sentiment. 

After die cutting the heart windows into a panel that's slightly smaller than my mini slimline card base, I played around with placement of all the images. I wanted to leave enough room within two of the hearts to stamp the thanks sentiment. Once I had decided where everything looked good, I added some pink shading to the areas behind the heart openings. Then I adhered the panel with foam squares. 

Copics used for coloring: bees - Y13, Y15, Y17, N4, N6 B00; florals - RV52, RV63, RV55, V22, V25, Y13, Y15, Y17, YG11, YG13, YG17; ladybugs - R22, R24, N4, N6; grasshopper - YG00, YG11, YG15, YG17; rosy cheeks - R21

I tucked some of the images behind the edges of the heart openings and stamped the words. To finish, I adhered the bees and hand drew the dashed line trails with a fine tip black marker.

Cat Antics Card with Hanh

Hello Crafty Friends! This is Hanh on the Sunny Studio Stamps blog today with a fun card to share with you showcasing these adorable kitties from the Cat Antics set. These sweet and playful kitties are just the cutest.

I stamped the images from the Cat Antics stamps set as well as the balloon bouquet from the Party Pets Stamps set onto a piece of Neenah Classic Crest Solar White 110 lb cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and used the coordinating Cat Antics Dies and Party Pets Dies to diecut them out. I colored them with Copic markers and highlighted them with a white gel pen.

For the layout, I used one of the dies from the Rounded Rectangle Windows Dies to diecut two windows into a piece of Neenah Classic Crest Solar White 110 lb cardstock. I stamped "sending" from the Holiday Hugs Stamps set and "pawsitive vibes" from the Cat Antics Stamps set directly onto the panel with black and red inks. I used the panel as a guide to ink blend a piece of Bristol Smooth cardstock with Spun Sugar and Mowed Lawn Distress Oxide inks. I used foam tape to adhere the two panels to each other.

I decorated the card front with the colored images using a combo of liquid adhesive and foam tape for a bit of dimension and interest. I adhered the panel to an A2 white card base and finished the card with a few Majestic Clear Confetti for some sparkle.

Guest Designer Spotlight: Party Pets Cards with Courtney Leiva

Hello friends! It’s Courtney here with two fun birthday cards! Both feature some great new products from the latest release.

My first card is a mostly one-dimensional card featuring the new Party Pets Stamps. First I got my card base and stamped my images, masking them individually as I went. Remember to stamp the images you want in the forefront first, mask them, and then do the others, which will be more in the background. Once all my images were stamped and masked, I went ahead and ink- blended the background. I used kitsch flamingo, dried marigold, squeezed lemonade, twisted citron, and salvaged patina distress ink from Tim Holtz. Once the ink blending was done, I used a little bit of white paint and created some splatters to add texture to the background.

Once that was done and dry, I removed all the masking. I colored the images with my Ohuhu markers in various colors. I then added the birthday hats. I finished my card by stamping the sentiment which was from an older set called Party Pups using tuxedo black ink. I then adhered that to a card base.

My second card I used the new Majestic Meadow background stamp and the new Party Pets Stamps. First, I stamped the Majestic Meadows on a piece of cardstock and then found a section of it I liked best and die-cut that part to use for my card background. From there, I started coloring the scene with my ohuhu markers. Once that was finished, I stamped and cut out my images from Party Pets - how cute is this little doggy with the balloons! The birds want to join in on the fun too! Once I colored and cut out my images, I used some foam squares and attached them to make this cute scene. I then adhered to this on a card base.

Inside Greetings Belated Birthday Card with Nicky

Welcome to the Sunny Studio Stamps blog today, this is Nicky with you with everything you need to know about how I made this belated birthday card featuring the Inside Greetings Belated Birthday Stamp Set. 

I took a white A2 panel of sturdy cardstock and used the Sunburst Embossing Folder on it and then used Spun Sugar Distress Oxide Ink and a blending brush and in circular movements both clockwise and anti clockwise I blended to emphasise the embossed effect and create some warmth. I die cut a simple circle of white cardstock and glued it a fraction above centre.

I stamped some images from Party Pets and coloured with the following Copic markers:

Cat - E74, E71, E70, E40, W00
Blush - R22, R21, R20, R00
Beige - E44, E31, E42, E40
Blue - BG01, B01, B00, B000
Red - R39, R29, R24
Pink - RV02, RV52

I stamped the large Happy Birthday sentiment with Versamark Ink and heat embossed with Wow! Opaque Pastel Blue Embossing Powder. I also stamped the word 'belated' from the Inside Greetings Belated Birthday Stamp Set. I used pink ink to do this and then I backed all images with dimensional foam tape and adhered them in position. I highlighted my coloured images with a white gel pen.

I found some party streamer images from the Party Pets stamp set and stamped them in toning colours around the cat. I added Nuvo drops in toning colours throughout the sunburst and set the panel aside to dry.

I stamped the long inside greeting from the Inside Greetings Belated Birthday Stamp Set. Rather than stamp directly I stamped it on a die cut created by using the Rounded Rectangle Mat Dies. I used a foam blender and more Spun Sugar ink to edge it and then glued it to the inside of the card. I then came in with the tiny heart image and stamped the pastel hearts just for a little added interest.
