Toasty Hugs Card with Nicky

Happy Friday everyone, this is Nicky with you today on the Sunny Studio Stamps blog where I'm sharing all the details for this card using the cute little Toasty Hugs stamp set. Read on for all the details.

Using Speckled Egg Distress Oxide Ink, I ink blended the winter sky on an A2 white panel of cardstock.

I die cut the Cityscape Border Die from white cardstock and glued this created panel to the sky.  Over this I layered two snow 'hills' made using the Slimline Nature Borders Die. This background panel was now ready to glue to my card base and set to one side.

I stamped the trees from Snowmen in Sweaters and the two kids from Toasty Hugs using black ink. I coloured with the following Copic markers:

Skin - E34, E11, E21
Hair Girl Left - E44, E43, E40
Hair Girl Right - E42, E40
Blush - R22, R21, R20, R00
Green - G19, YG45
Red - R29, R24
White - C3, C1
Brown - E44, E43

I die cut the images, using the Snowmen in Sweaters Die and Toasty Hugs Die, and backed them with foam tape and attached them to the background.

For the finishing touches I stamped and heat embossed the sentiment on a red strip and attached with foam tape and I glittered the snow on the trees and then using a stylus and white acrylic paint, I dotted in the snow throughout the scene. Your snow will look far more authentic if you make sure to 'nick' the lines of some of your images as I have done and of course by dotting rather than splattering you have full control and won't spoil the faces on the characters etc.

Diagonal & Straight Stripes Stencil Focused Card with Marine

Hello crafty friends, Marine here, I'm so happy to be back on the blog with this holiday card featuring the mouse family again. This time, they're back for a Christmas adventure, whether they're busy decorating the tree, or enjoying some quiet time by the fireplace, or delivering presents larger than the chimney pipe! I love how this slimline card turned out, and how we get three mini scenes on one single card.

As very often, I started off by stamping all the images on 110lb Neenah solar white cardstock using an alcohol marker friendly black ink. I cut them all using the matching dies, and colored everything using my Ohuhu markers and my Graph'it brush markers.

Here is a detailed list of the stamp sets I used: • Cozy Christmas - armchairs, Christmas tree, cushions, lamp, glass of milk, presents • Santa Claus Lane - fireplace, chimney, stockings, sleigh, presents, baubles • Christmas Critters - mouse, reindeer antlers • Lazy Christmas - large presents • Merry Mice - mice, hat • Beach Bus - mouse • North Pole - cookie plate, presents • Harvest Mice - mouse.

Next I cut an 8,5 x 3,5 inches Strathmore bristol smooth panel that I divided in different sections, from bottom to top: floor, wallpaper, roof and sky. I started off with the floor, and created a base first using antique linen oxide ink. And to make a parquet floor, I used the Straight Stripes stencil along with vintage photo oxide ink to create a wood plank pattern. For the wallpaper, I did a base first using saltwater taffy oxide ink, and I used the Diagonal Stripes stencil along with worn lipstick oxide ink to add a nice pattern to my wall. I kept the roof simple, and did a 1/4" separation stripe using hickory smoke and black soot oxide inks. And finally I did the sky using salty ocean, prize ribbon and black soot oxide inks.

As always, I added texture to my background. I mixed some vintage photo oxide ink with water, and added splatters to the parquet floor. Mixed some worn lipstick oxide ink with water, and added splatters to the wall. Splattered water on the sky and dried the paper with a paper towel. Mixed some chipped sapphire oxide ink with water, added more splatters to the sky, and did the same with liquid stardust. Finally, I mixed some copic opaque white ink with water, and added white splatters all over the panel.

Once the panel was dry, I white heat embossed "Merry Christmouse" from Merry Mice at the very bottom, and attached all the images using 1mm and 2mm foam squares. Added highlights and details to the images using a white gelly roll pen, a dot of glossy accents on the berries on the wall and lights in the tree, and to make the snow on the chimney sparkle, I added liquid glue, sprinkled fine glitter on the glue, let it dry and removed the excess of glitter with a fluffy brush.

Merry Mocha Card with Tina

Hello crafters, it’s Tina and today I am creating a cute square card featuring the adorable Merry Mocha stamp and die set.

I started with a white square card base and added a layer of striped paper (Holiday Cheer) which was cut with the largest die from the Scalloped Square 1 small dies. Before adhering this panel to the base I created four square boxes with the Window Quad Square set. I love how these dies create the perfect design for smaller stamps.

I used the same die to create more square pieces from white card stock and a pink gingham paper (Gingham Pastels). Next, I glued these squares inside their frames, layering the white pieces on top, after I cut them to be a third of the size.

The mug from Merry Mocha stamp is a perfect match for the cuties from Christmas Cookies! All these images fit perfectly inside the frames as well, I love to combine several sets and see how well they work together!

After stamping and die cutting the mug and cookies, I used my Copics to color all the images in vibrant holiday tones. I added some details with a brown marker and a white gel pen. I used foam tape to adhere my images to the frames.

Lastly, I stamped the sentiment from Merry Mocha in a pink ink from my stash and used the matching die to cut it out. I mounted this phrase to the last remaining box with foam tape. I love finishing a card with some embellishments and today I chose the beautiful Pure White Jewels.

Crisp Apple Die Focused Card by Alma

Hello everyone, Alma here. Christmas is getting closer, and what could be better than enjoying a candied apple at a Christmas market? 

For my card, I die-cut the apple using the Crisp Apple Dies and colored it with Copics. Then, I created a background with the Slimline Pennant Dies and the Buffalo Plaid Diagonal Die. To coat my apple with chocolate glaze, I die-cut it from the Slimline Nature Border Dies and colored it in chocolate brown. 

Finally, I stamped a sentiment from the Holiday Hugs Stamps set and die-cut a snowflake from the Basic Mini Shape 5 Dies to use as a highlight. I especially love the Joyful Holiday Paper on this card.

Distinctive Door Holiday Add-on Die Focused Cards with Leanne

Hello everyone! Leanne here and I'm sharing a fun way to use the Distinctive Door Holiday Add-on dies. I have made two cards that feature a shelf all decked out for the holidays. I'm always trying to come up ways to stretch my supplies and thought some of the dies in Distinctive Door Holiday Add-on set would make cute little decor pieces for a wall shelf. 

For both cards I used the Build-a-Birdhouse dies with the Distinctive Door Holiday Add-on dies to create my decorated shelf scenes. This first card is A2 size and features a shorter shelf with one birdhouse. The stamped sentiment on this card is from the Inside Greetings Seasons set. 

In the Build-a-Birdhouse set there's dies to create the houses, little birds, and a pole. The pole die is what I used to make the shelf. You can connect two poles together to make a longer shelf which is what I did for the mini slimline card. I was able to fit three birdhouses on this longer shelf.  

To dress up the shelves for Christmas, I used dies in the Distinctive Door Holiday Add-on set to create the snow cover on the shelves, the garland plus tiny bows, and the trees. 

The large greeting on the mini slimline card is from the Season's Greeting stamp set. I used the coordinating dies to cut out the word "greetings" and fussy cut the word "season's".
