Tropical Birds Card with Nicky

Hi! This is Nicky with you today on the Sunny Studios blog and I'm sharing a somewhat CAS Tropical Birds birthday card with you today. Please read on for the details.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Tropical Birds Birthday Card by Nicky Meeks (featuring Fancy Frame Dies, Tree Branch Dies)

I've used the following products to make this card:-

Tropical Birds
Tropical Birds Dies
Tree Branch Die
Fancy Frames Rectangle Dies

To start things off I took an A2 panel of white cardstock and knowing that I wanted my focal point to be offset to the left hand side I started my ink blending there. I used Saltwater Taffy and then intensified the blend on the left side with Worn Lipstick Distress Oxide Inks. I splattered with water and blotted it up and then dotted in interest with Copic markers and a white gel pen.

I die cut the tree branch die for the bough only. I coloured it with Copic markers in E44, E43 and E42. I backed it with a thin strip of craft foam and adhered it to the blended background.

Next, I stamped the images I was needing from Tropical Birds. I chose the two little parrots and I coloured them as Peach Faced Lovebirds but when it comes to parrots there are of course a huge array of fun ways to colour them. Here are the Copic colours used:

Lovebirds - R05, R22, R21, YG03, YG01, YG00, E42, E41
Greenery - YG03, YG01

I backed these images with foam tape and applied them to the scene. To finish things up, I die cut more sturdy white cardstock using the Fancy Frames Rectangle Dies. I backed this frame with dimensional foam tape and applied it to the background then I popped the panel in my Misti and repeat stamped the birthday sentiment for a nice crisp appearance and to complete the whole project I used Nuvo Dream Drops in 'Cloud 9' for sweet accents.

I look forward to sharing a new card with you next Friday, meanwhile I wish you a beautiful weekend!

Square Die Focused Card with Marine

Hello crafty friends, Marine here, I'm back with this lovely Enchanted scene I created on a square sized card. It's not that often that I create square cards, but they're fun to make, and it's nice to use something different from the traditional A2 sized cards.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Stitched Square Die Focused Enchanted Card by Marine Simon (featuring Scalloped Square Dies, Spring Scenes)

I started off by stamping all my images on 80lb Neenah solar white cardstock using an alcohol marker friendly black ink. I cut them using the coordinating dies, and colored everything using my Spectrum Noir Illustrator markers and my Graph'it brush markers. Here is a detailed list of the products I used: • Enchanted - castle, princess, carriage • Spring Scenes - trees • Garden Critters - grass • Spring Showers - tulips • Seasonal Trees - birds.

I cut a Strathmore bristol smooth square panel using the 3rd largest Stitched Square, and colored it using a hillside stencil from my stash along with oxide inks. On the upper part, I blended, from top to bottom, wilted violet + prize ribbon + peacock feathers oxide inks. I splattered water droplets that I dried using a paper towel. I also mixed some copic opaque white ink with water, and used a small brush to make more splatters on the sky. And to make that sky even more magical, I added sparkling stars using a starry sky stencil from my stash along with glittery clear stenciling paste. On the lower part of my panel, I blended mowed lawn + rustic wilderness oxide inks, mixed some rustic wilderness oxide ink with water, used my small brush again to add splatters on the grass, and then did the same with copic opaque white ink. Once my panel was dry, I white heat embossed my "Hoping your day is magical" greeting from Garden Fairy at the bottom.

I cut a scalloped square panel out of textured white cardstock using the 2nd largest Scalloped Square 2 Large die, and attached strips of holographic cardstock at the back, along the four edges, right on the holes, to bring more shine to my card. Next I cut a Gingham Pastels pink panel using the 1st largest Stitched Square, attached my scalloped square panel on top using 1mm foam squares, and then stuck my oxide ink panel using double sided tape. And I attached my whole panel on a 4,5 x 4,5 inches white card base.

I stuck all the images using 1mm and 2mm foam squares, added highlights and details using a white gel pen, and that's it! I hope that you like this adorable sparkling scene. Thanks so much for stopping by, and see you next time!

Fresh Lemon Card with Tina

Hello crafters, Tina here with a summer card combining the fun Fresh Lemon Dies with the yummy Perfect Popsicles.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Fresh Lemon Fruit Themed Card by Tina Henkens (featuring Perfect Popsicles, Frilly Frame Dies, Limitless Labels Dies)

After creating a white card base, I die cut a panel with the outer die of the Frilly Frames Stripes Die and a green sheet from Flirty FlowersFor my next layer, I dry embossed a piece of white card stock with the Lots Of Dots embossing folder and used one of the Limitless labels. Next, I just adhered these layers together with liquid glue.

This summer card needed lots of vibrant colors, so I used bright pink, yellow and green inks from my stash for the popsicles and lemons. As always with layering stamps, I used the plastic sheet with the images printed on to help me position all the stamps. I added some white highlights with a gel pen. I used the same pink ink for the sentiment from Perfect Popsicles.

Then I played around with the layout of the popsicles and lemons and assembled the card with liquid glue and foam tape where needed. A few Iridescent Clear Jewels were the perfect sparkle to finish this project.

I really love how well these sets work together and I hope you got inspired to create some fun summer cards too! Thank you for spending time with me and happy crafting!

Beach Bus Card with Isha

Hello everyone, Isha here! So excited to be back again on the blog with a fun summer theme project featuring the new Beach Bus stamp and dies. I combined it with some of the previously released products and I have to say that they blend so well.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Beach Bus Summer Themed card by Isha Gupta (featuring Scenic Route, Stitched Rectangle Dies, Garden Critters)

I started by creating a background. I sponged the clouds using salty ocean and wilted violet oxide ink. I masked and sponged antique linen distress ink for the ground. Die-cut this panel using the Stitched Rectangle die

Next, time to stamp the images, color using copic markers and die-cut using the coordinating dies:

Bus,Surf-board, Sentiment -  Beach Bus stamp and dies
Bees, Snail - Garden Critters stamp and dies
Lights - Scenic Route stamp and dies

Assemble the images using 3d foam to create the scene. Apply nuvo crystal glitter to the lights and the window glass. To finish, I added some glitter to the bee's wings.

Thank you for dropping by and have a nice day!

Juicy Watermelon Card with Leanne

Hello everyone! Leanne here and today I'm sharing a fun card that would be perfect for anyone with a summer birthday. I've always felt that watermelons are one of the most iconic fruits of the summer.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Juicy Watermelon Birthday Card by Leanne West (featuring Punny Fruit Greetings, Chloe Alphabet Dies)

I used the Juicy Watermelon die set to create a border of slices all the around the edges of my mini slimline card. My card base measures 6.25 inches long by 3.25 inches wide.  This size was perfect to allow for three slices along the top and bottom edges and one slice on the ends while leaving space for the greeting in the center.

All the pieces for the watermelon slices where die cut from white card stock and then I used the following Catherine Pooler inks to color: Party Dress, Cranberry Fizz, Garden Party, Grass Skirt. I used a black Copic marker to color the area behind the little seed cut outs.

I splattered the card base with a little bit of red ink before I adhered the slices. I then used stamps from Punny Fruit Greetings and the Chloe Alphabet dies to create the birthday sentiment. Lastly, I added three tiny clay hearts.
