Sunny Studio + Studio Katia Blog Hop with Sale & Giveaways

Hello & welcome!  Today we are joining efforts with Studio Katia for a special collaborative blog hop. Both teams are celebrating Summer time fun with colorful shaker cards using stamps from Sunny Studio and dies and embellishments from Studio Katia.  There are some fun prizes and a special sale too so make sure you read all the way to the bottom of this post for full details.

I was eager to play with Studio Katia's Stitched Creative Window die because I thought it would be the perfect compliment to our Oceans of Joy and Magical Mermaid stamps.  As soon as I saw it, I knew it would make a cute aquarium window!

For the inside shaker elements of my card, I combined two mixes from Studio Katia's Crystal Rainbow Fusion sequins and Iridescent Rainbow Seed Beads, separating out all the cool tones to compliment my scene.

I finished the card with a heat embossed sentiment stamped onto a banner from our Sunny Borders stamp set.

Froggy Friends Circular Frog Card with Lexa

Hello everyone! Lexa here today with a circular card featuring Froggy Friends stamps and it's coordinating dies. These adorable froggy friends will never let you down.

I think to create a card with different shapes will be so much fun, since I (almost) always make 4.25"x5.5" cards. I stamped all the images with Versafine black ink and watercolor them with my Distress Markers. I add some rosy cheeks for them. I created a water scene with Stitched Scallop dies.

I blend Shaded Lilac Distress Inks for the sky and Tumbled Glass for the water, and the color combination turned out adorable. I'm happy with it. I think I should try another shaped cards soon, even if this is a simple card somehow it looks like cuter because of the circle card base. Last but not least I stamp the toadally awesome sentiment on the top. It was a little bit tricky to stamp them straight since I don't have a guide line like when I created a rectangle card. But it turned out ok, I think.

Sunny Borders Watercolor Star Background Card with Vanessa

Hi everybody, here is Vanessa with a sweet birthday card using various stamps and dies! I wanted to play with watercolors for a fun background and used the star border from Sunny Borders for this.

I repeatedly stamped the star border with Versamark Ink onto a panel of watercolor paper and heat-embossed it with white embossing powder. Then I applied pink and purple watercolors. After everything was dried, I adhered the panel to the card base and covered it with a piece of vellum to tone it down a bit. I stamped the cupcake and the candle (using the Heartfelt Wishes set) onto white cardstock, colored them with Copics, die-cut them with the matching dies and adhered them to the card.

Now I die-cut the Sweet Word die from fun foam and glitter cardstock, assembled them and adhered them to the card. I stamped the rest of the sentiment from Sweet Shoppe onto a strip of purple cardstock, trimmed it and adhered it to the card. Finally, I added matching sequins.

Friends & Family and A Bird's Life Friendship Card with Amy

Hello crafty friends! Amy here, and I have a friendship card to share with you today. My card features Friends & Family and A Bird's Life stamp set. I think these two sets go really well together to help you create sweet scenes with pretty flowers and cute birds. 

To begin, I trimmed white cardstock to 4-1/4"x 5-1/2 and die-cut it with the largest die from Traditional Tag Toppers to make the card front. While I had the die out, I also die-cut an A2 size card base to match the card front. However, I made sure to line up the die slightly above the paper so that the sides would get cut and not the top. This created a top folding tag shaped card base. 

On the front panel, I stamped the flowers from the Friends & Family stamp set using various dye inks. I also blended the bottom of the panel with green dye ink. Then, I stamped the sentiment, "Friends Are Life's Greatest Blessings" from the same stamp set. I love that this set has so many wonderful sentiments about friends and family. I heat embossed the word "friends" in blue and stamped the rest in black ink. 

To add dimension to the card, I stamped the flowers from Friends & Family again on a different white cardstock and cut them out. After, I stamped the birds, the birdhouse from A Bird's Life with Antique Linen Distress Ink and colored them with Copics. I decided to do no-line coloring to match the flowers.  For the wooden pole, I stamped it with brown dye ink and colored it with Copics. I used the coordinating dies to cut them out.

Then, I adhered the flowers with a single layer of foam tape, and others with double layers to the front panel. For extra sweetness, I added a twine bow on top. To finish, I mounted the panel to the prepared card base.

Magical Mermaids Under The Sea Themed Birthday Card with Nancy

Hey Sunny Studio fans, Nancy here today with an under-the-sea birthday card using the beautiful Magical Mermaids stamp and coordinating dies. I love that this set has so many fun sentiments and icons. A trio of floating beauties and sealife images that are perfect for all of your cards.  

I started the card by using Oxide Distress Ink in Broken China, Cracked Pistachio and Wilted Violet on watercolor paper to create the wash of color shown peeking through the circle. I love a good peek-a-boo card. Next, the mermaids were color with Copic markers and placed in the center with foam tape. 

A simple sentiment stamped in black at the top by gently bending the sentiment to fit around the circle. A sprinkle of dew drops completes the card.
