Snow Kissed and Sledding card with Audrey

Hi there! Audrey here!  I've really been into purple for winter scenes lately, which it not usual for me, but I'm enjoying it while it lasts! :)  I just love the sledding penguin from the Snow Kissed stamp set, and since I hadn't used him yet, I figured it was time!

I watercolored a piece of Tim Holtz Distress Watercolor paper with Shaded Lilac and Wilted Violet distress inks, with a hint of the darker purple coming up from behind the snowy hill.  I stamped, colored, and die-cut the penguin with the coordinating Snow Kissed die set.  I popped him up on the hill using foam tape, and stamped a sentiment, also from the Snow Kissed stamp set.  Finally, I stamped some periwinkle snowflakes before adding a scattering of sequins.  There are no rules in card making right? *wink*

That's it for me today!  Hope you enjoyed my card!

For today's peek at our Spring release we have a first look at a stamp set called "Sunny Borders".  This set is filled with 5 unique borders (which will coordinate with matching dies), 2 shadow stamps, a versatile banner and one sentiment.  It's an all around great basic set whether you're new to stamping or have been doing this a long time.  :)

Be sure to stop back by tomorrow for more inspiration from the design team!  Have a great day!!

Snow Kissed Winter Penguins Card with Heidi

Hello everybody, Heidi here.  Welcome to the Sunny Studio Blog!  This week we are introducing the "Snow Kissed" stamp and its coordinated die set. I had to create this card with these adorable penguins having fun in the snowy hills!

For my card I stamped the penguin on the sled and the penguin on the skates, coloring them with Copic Markers.  I then created a winter scene using some snowy hills and mountains and framed them using some patterned paper.

I hand drew some string from the skater penguin to the sled, so it looks like the skater penguin is pulling the sled up the hill. You could also use real twine whichI think would be neat.  The "Snow Kissed" stamps and coordinated die are available at the Sunny Studio Stamp shop.

Before I go, we have another sneak peek to share with you.  Today is a look at a set designed to coordinating with yesterday's peek called "Sunny Sentiments".  All the images and sentiments are based around the word SUNSHINE!  This is going to be a great staple that will work with so many other sets and is perfect for scene building!

(Available for purchase on December 26th).

I hope you enjoyed today's card and I wish you a lovely day!

Snow Kissed Skiing Penguins Christmas Card with Melissa

Hello everyone, Melissa here. Today I have a card to share with you using the Snow Kissed stamp set, one of my favorites!

To create this card I first die-cut a circle out of white cardstock.  I then stamped the greeting at the top of the circle in some Versamark ink and heat embossed it with white embossing powder. I stamped the two penguins at the bottom and then masked them off so I could ink up the background. I added ink mostly to the outside of the circle and worked my way in getting progressively lighter. I removed the masks from the penguins and colored them with Copic markers. To finish off the card I added it to a white card base with some green patterned paper.

I hope you enjoyed the card for today.    Before I go, I wanted to share a little peek of some images from a new stamp set coming soon called Rain or Shine.  :)

Don’t forget to check back and see what the other creative team members have created this week! Thanks for stopping by!

Sharing Some Sunny Studio Spring Release Sneak Peeks

We've started to share sneak peeks for our Spring release over on Facebook, but I know not everyone is on facebook so I thought I would share our first three peeks over here on the blog as well.  :)

Up first is a set that was inspired by a little snail my 9-year old daughter drew.  I was so taken with the personality of her drawing that I asked if you would mind if I used him for a jumping off point for a spring set that together we named "Backyard Bugs".  I can't wait for you to see all the other fun images in this set!

Our next set is perfect for Easter and it's called "A Good Egg".  All the images and sentiments will play on the egg theme.  It's been a lot of fun to design with and I think you're going to love all the possibilities this set has to offer.  :)

Our last peek is called "Sending My Love" and is filled with with infinite possibilities.  I don't want to give it all away just yet, but there are lots of options to make Valentines as well as cards for everyday occasions.  If you love Bundled Up I think you're going to fall head over heals for this set!  :)

All these sets plus much more will go on sale the day after Christmas on December 26th so make sure to mark your calendars and save up your Christmas money.  ;) I will be back next week with some more peeks.

Big Hugs!

Sunny Saturday: Bundled Up Hats, Scarves & Mittens Winter Cards

Hello there!  I hope you are enjoying your Saturday!  Today I'm excited to share a beautiful card created by our talented customer Kimberly Rendino using our Bundled Up stamp set.

I had to giggle when I came across her card on instagram because it just so happens I had created a nearly identical card myself the previous week.   I think it's funny that we also both added dots to our background, hers with a Pico Embellisher and mine with some Stardust Stickles.  ;)

If that wasn't funny enough, I really got a really good chuckle when I received an email from Nina-Marie Designs sharing these adorable tags she created.  Instead of snowflakes, she stamped some cute little hearts to fill in the small spaces of her design and added highlights with a white gel pen.  I love that little detail!

You can see a wonderful video on how she created these on her YouTube channel HERE--I just love watching her work.  She used our popular Fishtail Banner dies to create the "V' along the bottom of her tag, using one to cut and another to emboss.  :)

These projects just go to show that great minds think alike, right?  I love the idea of stretching the stamp set to create a card without the penguin focal point. ;)

I hope you have a wonderful time this weekend!  I can't believe how quickly Christmas is approaching already.  ;)
