Hey, crafty friends, Amanda here! I hope your summer is off to a fantastic start and you’re finding plenty of time to get crafty! I had some time to make these 2 SWEET cards and I’m here today to walk you through how I made them! So, keep reading and let’s make these cards together!
The first thing I did was choose inks that would go well with the Summer Splash Paper. I knew I needed cone colors as well as ice cream colors! I settled on the following Catherine Pooler inks:
Ice Creams:
Creamsicle, Bellini & Orange Twist
Chiffon, Limoncello & Catching Rays
Be Mine & Pucker Up
Cones:
Buttercream & Honeycomb and Cashmere & Sand Castle
I stamped each of the ice cream components from the Two Scoops Stamps on white cardstock. I fussy cut them out with my scissors, but there’s also coordinating dies you can use! Next, I chose some papers I liked from the Summer Splash Paper. I trimmed the pieces down and then glued them to a white card base.
I stamped my sentiments next. For the pink ice cream card, I stamped directly onto my card base with black ink. For the other card, I stamped the sentiment with a WOW embossing pad, applied white embossing powder, and then melted the powder with a heat tool. I trimmed the sentiment down into a strip that would fit on my card and then glued it down. I placed 3D foam squares behind the ice cream cones and then attached them to my cards. I added a few Party Confetti pieces to finish the cards off!
These cards just make me smile with their bright and happy summer colors! I hope you enjoyed this blog post and come back tomorrow for more inspiration!
