Juicy Watermelon Card with Cathy

Hey friends! Cathy here today sharing a clean and simple friendship card today featuring the Juicy Watermelon Dies.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Juicy Watermelon Card by Cathy Chapdelaine (featuring Frilly Frame Dies, Punny Fruit Greetings, Hayley Alphabet Dies)

This was so fun to make and works up quickly. I started by cutting a piece of white cardstock 5” x 6” and lightly inked across the center of the cardstock with Spun Sugar Distress ink. I cut a strip of Gingham Pastels Paper 1 1/4" x 6” and adhered it to the bottom of the cardstock. I then die-cut the cardstock using the frame portion of the Frilly Frames Quatrefoil Dies and adhered it to an A2 card front.

Next, I die-cut 5 watermelon slices using the Juicy Watermelon Dies and 2 leaves/small flowers using the Strawberry Patch Dies from white cardstock. I colored the watermelon slices and flowers with Copics and inked the leaves with Mowed Lawn/Rustic Wilderness Distress inks. For extra cuteness, I die-cut my center slice with the smiley face die from the Fresh Lemon Dies and added a stamped/Copic colored pair of shades using a stamp from the Beach Buddies Stamps. I just love how they fit the smiley face perfectly! I adhered the die-cuts across the card and then decided to die-cut 2 larger flowers using the “free with purchase” mini die currently available. I also colored these flowers with Copics.

To finish, I heat embossed a sentiment from the Punny Fruit Greetings Stamps with white embossing powder on a strip of black cardstock and die-cut the “melon” sentiment from black cardstock using the Hayley Lowercase Alphabet Dies.

I hope you enjoyed and thanks for stopping by today! For more inspiration, please visit my blog www.inkredibleadventures.com and you can also find me on Instagram as @cathy.chapdelaine.

Guest Designer Spotlight: Big Panda Cards with Sara Zoppi

Hi crafty friends, Sara here! Today I am really thrilled to be here again, guesting for Sunny Studio Stamps! I love their products, they are always so funny and sweet! For my guesting spot, I made two cards, showcasing their recently released Big Panda stampSo, let's dive into the first one!

Sunny Studio Stamps: Big Panda Cards by Sara Zoppi (featuring Berry Bliss, Punny Fruit Greetings, Dotted Diamond Dies))

I really love their "big" animals, you may remember I used the bear in my last guesting spot. Recently, they came out with that Big Panda and with the Punny Fruit Greetings, which made me think to pair that panda with the previously released Berry Bliss stamp set.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Big Panda Cards by Sara Zoppi (featuring Berry Bliss, Punny Fruit Greetings, Dotted Diamond Dies))

I stamped the panda with Memento Black ink and I colored him with Copics (N9 – N8 – N7 – N6 – N5 – N4 for the darker areas and W2-W0 for the white areas) and I die cut him with coordinating dies. Then I created all the berries using the stamping tool, carefully choosing the different colors of each palette from my stash. I firstly die cut all of them from white cardstock, then I used a sort of "template" I made (from a piece of paper I die cut the berries, and then I used it to position the berries in the same place in the stamp positioner every time) to stamp each layer of color.

I then moved to assembling the card: I took a 4"x 5,25" lilac cardstock and I used the Dotted Diamond Portrait Die to add the texture on it. Then I arranged the fruit in a sort of wreath and I let the panda come out from the bottom right corner. I added the sentiment which comes from the Punny Fruit Greetings and I added some white and red pearls here and there. To complete the card, I layered an A2 piece of white cardstock behind. And here's the finished result!

My second and last inspiration for today features the same Big Pandabut I paired it with the Big Bunny.

Aren't those giant animals the cutest?? This time, I started from the sentiment of the card: I wanted to use the big SUMMER word included in the Big Panda stamp set and I looked into the Punny Fruit Greetings how to complete it. I found the "friends make life sweet" which was perfect, so I stamped the Big Panda and the Big Bunny on a piece of white cardstock. I colored them with Copics (Panda: N9 – N8 – N7 – N6 – N5 – N4 - W2-W0 , Bunny: E44 – E43 – E42 – E41 – E40 – E15 – E11) and I used the coordinating Big Panda dies and Big Bunny dies to cut them.

I also stamped 2 pairs of sunglasses and I colored with Copics too, but I ended up fussy cutting the black lens inside and layered a piece of acetate behind, which I colored with Copic 100: look how cool they look because of the transparency.

To complete the scene, I needed to add something in their arms...and what's better than ice cream? I used the layering Two Scoops Stamp to create the ice-creams, I love those layering stamps because the result is always real!

I then assembled everything on a 4"x4" piece of white cardstock, I used a slightly larger piece of Spring Sunburst Paper and layered it behind the larger Scalloped Square 1 Large Dies which I inked with coordinated Distress Oxides (Picked Raspberry, Dried Marigold, Twisted Citron, Salty Ocean, and Wilted Violet). And here's the finished result!

Thanks for stopping by! I really hope you will like my project and you will be inspired to create something! Hugs from Italy!

Designer's Choice: Tropical Birds Card with Nicky

Happy Friday friends, this is Nicky with you on the blog today sharing a new card I created featuring the equal parts adorable and beautiful Tropical Birds stamp set from the summer release. Please read on for how I made it.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Tropical Birds Card by Nicky Meeks

I started by taking an A2 white panel of cardstock and ink blending it with 'Greenery' and 'Citrine' inks by The Stamp Market. I splattered with water and blotted it up and then splattered again with a little of the Greenery ink loosened with a drop or two of water. I backed this panel with white craft foam and adhered it to an A6 card base and set it to one side.

I took some green cardstock from my stash and I die cut it three times using Eyelet Lace Border Dies. I glued them in a stack and adhered them to the card background.

The images from Tropical Birds were stamped using Memento Ink in Tuxedo Black and coloured with the following Copic marker combinations:

Toucans - T6, T5, T4, YR09, YR04, Y38, C3, C1, C0, C00
Vine - E29, E39, E35, E53
Greenery - G94, G24, YG13, YG03, YG67, YG25, YG06, YG17

The images were then die cut using the coordinating diesI began building a background of lush greenery by first adhering the vine image with foam tape and then gluing in all of the leaves and a few flowers. I added the toucans on top of the greenery and perched on the vine using foam tape.

To complete the scene the sentiment from the stamp set was stamped and applied with foam tape and a few white Nuvo drops were added for a subtle accent.

I appreciate you stopping by to read the blog today and hope you have a lovely and crafty weekend. See you next Friday with something new!

Designer's Choice: Beach Bus Card with Marine

Hello crafty friends, Marine here with you today, thank you so much for stopping by. Look who's back! The mouse family is up for a new adventure, and this time, they're on vacation at the beach, where there are so many cool activities to do! Once again, it was so much fun to mix and match my stamps to create this little scene.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Beach Bus Summer Themed Card by Marine Simon (featuring Beach Babies, Harvest Mice, Seasonal Trees)

As very often I went for a slimline style to feature as many images as I could, and started off by creating my beach scenery using stencils from my stash along with oxide inks. On the lower part, I did the ocean/sea using salvaged patina, peacock feathers and blueprint sketch oxide inks. Right above it, I did two sand borders using antique linen and vintage photo oxide inks. And at the very top of my panel, I did a cloudy sky using salvaged patina oxide ink.

Next I did the same texture routine as usual, and to give the illusion of foam on the waves, I dipped a sponge dauber into copic opaque white ink, and dabbed my panel pretty randomly to create that foam effect.

I set my panel aside to dry, and stamped my images on 80lb Neenah solar white cardstock using an alcohol marker friendly black ink. I cut them all using the coordinating dies, and colored everything using my Spectrum Noir Illustrator markers and my Graph'it brush markers.

Here is a detailed list of the products I used: • Beach Bus - van, mouse • Beach Babies - ball, bag, sunscreen, shovels, buckets • Beach Buddies - sunglasses, floaties • Merry Mice - sand mouse • Harvest Mice - mice • Garden Critters - sprigs • Kiddie Pool - snorkel, splatters • Balloon Rides - clouds, sun • Christmas Critters - mouse • Tiki Time - torch • Seasonal Trees - palm tree, coconuts

Once the coloring was done, I attached everything on my panel using 1mm and 2mm foam squares, leaving enough space at the very bottom for my "Happy summer" greeting from Beach Babies that I heat embossed in white. I added highlights and details to the images using a white gel pen, and applied a little bit of white blizzard nuvo drops to the splatters to make them shine.

And that's it! What a cute and fun little scene, right? I love the mouse family so much, I really look forward to seeing their next adventure! I hope you do, too! Thanks again for stopping by, and see you next time.

Designer's Choice: Big Panda & Big Bunny Cards with Tina

Hello crafters, Tina here and for this designer’s choice post I went with two of my absolute favorite sets Big Panda and Big Bunny! Aren’t they just the cutest! Adorable critters … check, shape card … check!

Sunny Studio Stamps: Big Bunny & Big Panda Cards by Tina Henkens

Using the matching dies makes it a breeze to turn these sweeties into cards! Just fold the card base in two and don’t cut the top part. Of course, I always need some birthday cards for my stash so that is what we are making today!

After stamping the images from Big Panda and Big BunnyI colored them with my Copics in happy colors. To create that festive vibe, I added a cute bow to the bunny and a party hat to the panda (Dots and Stripes Pastel and Joyful Holiday papers). I love how the hat from the Treat Bag Topper Dies is the perfect size for this big bear! Just browsing through your stash can lead to great combinations from old and new supplies!

Sunny Studio Stamps: Big Bunny & Big Panda Cards by Tina Henkens

I mounted the big panda and bunny to the card bases taking care that I did not glue the paw portions since they needed to hold the flowers and letter. The sentiments was selected from the Truckloads Of Love set and stamped onto a small white strip with Versafine Onyx Black ink. Lastly, I glued the banners to the images and sprinkled some Silver Jewels left and right of the sentiments.

I had so much fun creating these sweet, shaped cards and I hope you got inspired by the design! Thank you for visiting the blog and happy crafting!
