Inspiration Week: Introducing Sweet Shoppe Stamps & Word Die

Hello there!  Welcome to day 3 of our inspiration week!  Today I am sharing ideas using our new Sweet Shoppe stamps and dies!  :)

Up first is a card focusing on the soft serve ice cream cone from the set.  I started by coloring one of the ice creams blue for fun which sparked the idea of coloring them in a rainbow of bright colors (your guess is as good as mine what flavors they are).  To add a little personality I stamped a happy face from the set onto one of the cones and then added glossy accents to the ice cream portion of each cone.

For my card panel, I inked the bottom portion up with Tumbled Glass Distress ink using a jumbo dauber.  I finished off my card with a sassy sentiment from the set.

For my next card I inked up my background with Picked Raspberry, Carved Pumpkin, Mustard Seed, Twisted Citron, Peacock Feathers and Broken Glass distress inks.  I then used those same inks to stamp a trio of sprinkles to form a subtle repeated pattern on my background.

I cut a 3" circle from white cardstock and stamped my sentiment using a MISTI tool and coordinating colors of distress inks.  By using the MISTI I could repeatedly ink up the individual letters until they stamped a solid image.  I then colored each of my candies with Copic Markers, arranged them around my circle (popping some up with foam tape) and then coated the centers of each with glossy accents.

For my third card I lightly drew diagonal lines across my black cardstock panel 3/4" apart and then repeatedly stamped the word "sweet" using clear VersaMark ink. I then sprinkled a rainbow of different embossing powders starting with red and working my way to the opposite corner.  If you don't have a lot of embossing powders on hand, you could also heat emboss in white and then use an alcohol based marker to color over the top.

For my sentiment I cut the word "sweet" using the Sweet Word die and colored it in coordinating colors with my Copic Markers.  I then cut 4 more sweet words from black cardstock to layer under the rainbow one.  It pops up the word and gives it a cool look when viewing it from an angle.  I completed my card with some simple machine stitching along the top and bottom of my sentiment panel, adding a simple cupcake with rainbow sprinkles.

For my fourth card I completely switched gears and went with a Neapolitan ice cream color scheme.  I adore pink and brown together, don't you?  To give my cones some sparkle I colored over the ice cream portion with a Wink of Stella clear glitter pen and then went over the top with glossy accents which really magnifies the sparkle.  For my pink scalloped edge, I stamped and die-cut the edge using our Sunny Borders Stamps and coordinating dies. I completed my card with a sentiment heat embossed in white and a sprinkling of some pale pink iridescent sequins.

For my last card I wanted to do a partial die-cut treatment of the sweet word die so I hung the bottom of the word off the edge of the cutting plates so that when I ran my sandwich through the machine it wouldn't cut along the bottom edge.  I then took my craft knife and a ruler and trimmed along the edge to form a small strip below then word.  I then trimmed one end off of using our Fishtail Banner dies.

The Sweet shoppe set comes with a stamp of 12 connected sprinkles that were designed to stamp on half the doughnut and then flip around and stamp on the second half of the doughnut. This allows for quick and easy decorating of the donuts, cupcakes and ice cream while still saving some space on the set for more images.

For the jelly filled doughnut, I cover the doughnut hole on my stamp with a bit of scotch tape, inked up my stamp, peeled off the tape and then stamped my image.  I then was able to stamp the swirl of frosting in the center.  I completed my card by giving the bottom edge a decorative scalloped edge with our Sunny Border dies.

This set can create 15 unique sentiments perfect for both card making and scrapbooking.  The sprinkles and toppings in the set can also mix and match for endless customized cupcakes and donuts.

Inspiration Week: Introducing Baby Bear Set with Giveaway

Hello & welcome to day 2 of our new release preview week!  Today I'm super excited to reveal a fun new set celebrating babies called Baby Bear!

Up first is a card combining the new set with the tree from Summer Picnic, the grass from Sunny Sentiments and the ric-rac border die from Sunny Borders.

For my next card I had fun using those same outfits to dress my little trio of bears in.  For my card base I cut two medium hearts from our Stitched Heart Dies, inking up the top one to match my images colored with copics.

This set comes with several small companion images to stamp on the front of the bibs and onesies and I used the little heart to stamp a repeated pattern for my background.  I finished off my card with my sentiment heat embossed on a banner from our Sunny Borders stamp set.

For my next project I focused on the chunky diaper pin for a fun, graphic card.  To add a little interest, I stitched around each block on my sewing machine, popped up each pin with foam tape and added glossy accents to the colored portion of the pin.

The stamp set comes with bottles, sippy cups and pacifiers as larger standalone images as well as smaller versions to accessorize the bears.  I chose to use both versions by stamping a subtle repeat background for this sweet unisex baby card.

For my next card, I created another clothesline card pairing the bibs, onesies and socks with the cloud dies from our Sunny Sentiments and Rain or Shine die sets.

For my last card I created a baby blanket from the picnic blanket from the Summer Picnic Set.  I also stamped an extra set of feet to cut out so that I could fit a onesie on the sitting bear.

The patchwork border was created with a new square die that is not available for purchase, but that we are giving away free with all orders placed throughout the month of July.  I have been searching for the perfect sized die to create this look for quite some time now so I'm super excited to finally have one.  I can created a printable PDF for this card with step by step instructions HERE.

My sentiment was stamped with our new Sweet Shoppe stamp set that will be unveiled tomorrow. ;)

Inspiration Week: Introducing City Streets & New Happy Home Dies

Hello there!  Today kicks off our inspiration week with a brand new stamp set being showcased each day!  All of the new items being shared this week will be available for purchase this Friday on July 1st.  Make sure to check back and visit us each day for more inspiration, peeks and prizes!

Today I'm starting off with our new City Streets Stamp set and coordinating dies which were designed as a follow up to our popular Happy Home stamps.  This set has 3 downtown buildings, 5 sentiments and lots of fun miniature accessories to compliment them.

For my first card I wanted to go bright and happy with touches of black to make the colors pop. I borrowed the tree stamp from the Happy Home set to fill out my little scene.

For my next card I used some stitched ribbon to evoke the feel of a street and a basic metal rimmed office tag to highlight the little cafe table and chairs from the set.  I created cloud masks by cutting post it notes using the new Happy Home Cloud Dies and then sponged on my ink over the top.  I love the big reveal when you pull off the masks and how the clouds look as a one-layer image!

I finished off my card by setting my acrylic block down over the tag and then bending my sentiment to match the curve.  I love this easy little trick and the extra oomph a curved sentiment gives!

For this card I thought it would be fun to go bright and masculine for a change and to focus solely on the car stamp from the set.  I used my Signo Uniball gel pen to create the dotted line for my street and sponged on some soft Tumbled Glass distress ink as a backdrop for the cars.  My sentiment was borrowed from the new Sock Hop set that will be shared on Thursday.  ;)

I chose to go soft and sweet on this card focused on the bakery building in the set.  For my card mat I used Neenah Desert Storm (Kraft) cardstock to pick up the colors in the building.  I created a pale pink ombre effect for my sentiment tab using Spun Sugar distress ink and finished off my card with an elegant rhinestone embellishment.

For my last card I thought it would be fun to use all the images from the set and to create a bright, happy color palette by stamping the images in different colored inks.  To give my images depth I then quickly (& carefully) colored the images with coordinating pale Copic Markers.  I say carefully because I stamped using dye inks which can bleed if too much coloring is done over the top.

I finished my card with a banner from Sunny Borders and a Birthday Sentiment from Comfy Creatures.  For my hearts I used the Stitched Heart Dies which were covered in stardust stickles and glossy accents and popped up with foam tape.

Sunny Saturday Share: Pineapples, Flamingos & Hibiscus Flowers

Hello Peeps!  How are you doing?  I'm getting so antsy for Monday to arrive when I can finally share all that I have been working on.  Crazy enough I have plans to start creating cards for our mid-August release this weekend, before switching gears and working on designing our Christmas release.  It's funny how it works out that I always have my hands in several different seasons all at once.  ;)  Today I'm popping in with several darling ideas that caught my eye on social media this week...

Backyard Bugs Slider Butterfly Card with Lexa

Hi there crafty friends! I hope you are doing well. Lexa here today with a fun interactive slider card starring Backyard Bugs stamps and dies. I had so much fun creating this one.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Backyard Bugs Fluttering By To Say Hi Butterfly slider card by Lexa Levana.

I start this card with die-cut a piece of watercolor paper die-cut with a basic stitched rectangle die.  I then scribble some Tumbled Glass and Shabby Shutters Distress Ink on my acrylic block then spray some water to blend it. After the Distress Ink reacted well, I place my watercolor paper on top of it. I love how uneven and imperfect it looks. That's the beauty of watercolor, I think. :)

All the images and sentiment were stamped with Versafine Onyx Black ink and then I used Distress Markers to color the images. For extra sweetness, I stamp pink hearts on the sky and color them with a soft pink alcohol ink. I finished my card by blending some Spun Sugar Distress Ink on the edges of the card base to match my butterfly's wings color.

The fluttering butterfly is so adorable, even my 4 year old daughter loves to play with it.  I hope you enjoy today's card.

Before I go today we have one last peek for the week to share of a follow-up to the popular Fishtail Banner dies.  This new item will be available for sale on July 1st.  We hope you will come back all next week for more peeks, prizes and inspiration using the new sets!  :)
