Have a Toadally Awesome Birthday Card with Eloise

Hello everyone! Eloise here and today I'm kicking off the week using a brand new stamp set that was just released called Froggy Friends. These frogs are just the cutest and the set comes with a bunch of images and sentiments to create so many scenes. Today I went with a simple birthday card, but there are so many types of other cards you can make with this set too.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Froggy Friends Toadally Awesome Birthday Card by Eloise Blue.

To start off my card today I took a piece of watercolour paper and did a quick water coloured background using some Misson Gold watercolours. I just used a few different blues, dropped in the colour and dried it with a heat tool to get the cool effect. I then stamped all my images from the Froggy Friends stamp set on some white cardstock and coloured them all in with some Copic markers. I then used the coordinating dies to cut them out too.

Once all my images were cut out, I die cut down my water coloured panel and then arranged my images on top and then adhered them down once I was happy with placement. For my sentiment I used a mix of phrases from the Froggy Friends and Turtley Awesome stamp set and stamped them onto a red banner that I previously die cut with some black ink. I popped up my sentiment and adhered it under my scene. I then added some fun foam on the back of my panel and adhered it to a green card base. I added a little shimmer with a Wink of Stella to make some of the images sparkle.

That finished up my card today, I hope you enjoyed and got inspired. Make sure you stop by the rest of the week for more inspiration using the new stamps and dies that were released.

Inspiration Week: Introducing Color Me Happy Stamps & Sun Ray Dies

It's the big day!  I'm so excited to finally share the last of my sneak peeks!  Today I'm showcasing our versatile new Sun Ray Dies, a cheerful new 3x4 Sentiment set called Color Me Happy and a matching Color Word die!  I'm a rainbow girl at heart so I've really been enjoying these products and all their possibilities!

With our Sun Ray dies you are only limited by your imagination.  There are so many different fun ways they can be used and at a price point of $13 they're pretty affordable too!

For my first card I die-cut each of the rays from white cardstock and then sponged them in a rainbow of graduated colors using distress inks for a cool tie-died look.  To help you line things up, I have created a number of free printables with guides that work especially well with a light box.

The Sun Ray dies come with circles that are 1/2", 1" and 1-1/2" in size. The largest size works well for the sunburst designs, but I didn't want the space inside to go to waste so I included two smaller circles nested inside to give extra options.

I used the medium 1" circle to die-cut circles from watercolor paper that I had colored with Kuretake Gansai watercolors.  I added adhesive to the back of each circle and arranged them face down on the printable and then carefully laid my 5.5" x 4.25" black cardstock panel over the top.  The printable allowed me to space my circles perfectly symmetrical and by doing it this way I didn't need a light box which would have been too hard with black cardstock anyway.  I wanted the look of stitching on the outside edge, but I couldn't decide on a color so I ran i through my sewing machine with no thread.

For my sentiment I heat embossed the words in white using the Color Me Happy Stamps and Color Word Die on a piece of vellum and then die-cut two thin circles from white cardstock to sandwich my vellum between and give me a place to hide my adhesive.  I was able to use a glue pen behind the word "color" and again for the outside ring.  I think the polka-dot print fits the sentiment really well and it was so fun to create.

Up next I used the Sun Ray Dies to form a rainbow striped retro print along the top and bottom of my card.  My friend inspired me to try using them this way and I love the results!

To create this card I cut two rays of each of my 6 colors from textured cardstock (which is easy to do since the set comes with two dies) and then snipped them in half with my scissors so I could stretch them to fit the entire length of my card.  I then hid the gap in the center with my sentiment.  For my color word die I cut it once from white cardstock and then used scraps to cut the other letters which I pieced back together.  So fun, right?!

For my last new card of the day, I turned to our Rain or Shine set and paired one of the new sentiments from Color Me Happy with the umbrella image.  These sentiments would be awesome with the rainbow image from that set too, but sadly I just I ran out of time...

For my focal point image I stamped it in black using Versafine Onyx Black ink on Bristol paper and then watercolored the images using my Zig Clean Color Brush markers and a paint brush.  I then repeatedly stamped the same umbrella using Versafine Smokey Grey ink and shaded them with a light grey brush marker.

For my sentiment I used my MISTI tool to help me line things up and then stamped each letter one by one in different colors of ink, carefully masking off the other letters with scotch tape before inking up my desired letter and then pealing off the tape before stamping it.

My last card was actually shared yesterday, but I just wanted to show it off again since I created it with the Sun Ray dies.  When I was done adhering the rays, I stitched down the center of each one with my sewing machine & pulled the threads to the back before adhering the 1-1/2" circle in the center.

Inspiration Week: Introducing Easter Wishes & That Sucks

Hello there!  Are you ready for our release tomorrow?  I'm super excited, but I'm also happy to have another day to put some finishing touches on tomorrow's sneak peek cards.  ;)

Today I'm showcasing two new sets.  Up first is a 4x6 stamp set called Easter Wishes.  These stamps coordinate well with the images from last year's A Good Egg set, but also work well all on their own.  It comes with a cross, 2 bunnies, 3 chicks, a sheep, 2 flower images and a handful of sentiments.  Some have been curved to fit on the cross and there is also a nice large sentiment that is perfect to use inside your cards.

Can you tell I have a thing for tulips?  This set comes with a cute little trio of tulips that will work well for so many scene building type cards.  I love to fussy cut so I cut them around the outside edge and then used a Copic marker to the color the inside portions to match my sponged background for a seamless look.  Don't worry... If you prefer dies we have those too.  ;)

For my second card I stacked all the critters to create a sweet little scene.  I then stamped some tone-on-tone clouds and grass using our Sunny Sentiments stamps.

For my next card I wanted the cross to take center stage, keeping the rest of the card super simple.  I paired it with a fun new die set that I will be sharing more of tomorrow.  ;)

Up next I turned to our Sunny Semi Circle dies to create an arched window for my scene with the baby chicks and lilies.

For my last Easter card I used the little chicks with the larger chick, Easter basket & Sentiment from A Good Egg.

For my next card I have a new little 2x3 stamp set called That Sucks.  My 10-year old daughter dreamed up the idea for a vacuum themed set when listening to Kelly Clarkson's "My Life Would Suck Without You" which I thought would be super cute for Valentine's Day.  It comes with a number of faces to add personality to the vacuum as well as another set of sentiments to expand it's versatility for other occasions.

For this card I created my chevron background using our Sunny Borders stamps and my MISTI to help me space them every 1/2".

For my second card with the set I cut my 4.25" card base using the largest heart from our Stitched Heart dies.  The coordinating That Sucks dies come with a bonus mini heart and "suck" word die in the extra space inside the vacuum that would have otherwise been empty wasted space.

Here's a full look at the new Easter Wishes and That Sucks stamps and coordinating dies available for purchase early tomorrow morning in our online store.

Inspiration Week: Introducing Friends & Family Stamps & Dies

Hello there!  We're officially mid-way through the sneak peeks.  Thank you so much for all your love and support over the past two days.  Your outpouring of sweet feedback means the world to me!

Today I'm sharing ideas using a new set called Friends & Family.  It combines over 12 mix & match sentiments with a number of bold layering flowers perfect for Spring.

Up first is a card whose design was directly inspired by a gorgeous card by Heather Campbell.  I loved her idea of having flowers blooming out from below the sentiment strip so I just had to try it myself!
Sunny Studio Stamps: Friends & Family Flower Border Card by Mendi Yoshikawa

This set comes with four stems that are attached as part of one stamp image that are perfect for repeatedly stamping as a continuous border for flower borders such as this one.  They were spaced to work well with the daffodil, tulip, daisy and posies from the set, each coming with their own unique leaves.  The daffodil flower layers with three separate stamps to complete the look.

For my next card, I used the exact same design, but this time substituted the daffodils for tulips.  The tulip flower comes with two separate images to layer.  These bold images are super easy to layer quickly by hand so no positioning tool is needed, making them a great option for creating card sets with.

For my next card I layered all the daisies from the set for a bright and colorful border to frame my sentiment.  I also love the opposite phrase that says "friends are the family we chose".

For my last card, I created a bouquet of mixed flowers using the standalone stem from the set.  I was able to length it by hiding the seam behind the layered bow from our Holiday Style set.

I didn't have room for the sentiment on the outside so I continued the design to the inside with an extra flower I had stamped earlier for my bouquet and didn't end up using.

I love offering freebies so for this release (starting on January 13th) a free 5/8" flower die will automatically be included with each order, while supplies last.

I have created a card idea using the bonus flower die which I am offering as a make-n-take with step-by-step directions that you can print out & recreate at home.  Just click on the image above to download.  :)
