Summer Sweets Ice Cream Cards with Mendi

Hello and welcome! This is Mendi here today, popping in to share some ice cream-themed cards for Summer using our Summer Sweet Stamps.

For my first card showcasing the Summer Sweet Stamps, I created a 6-window grid using our Window Trio Square Dies, which I ran through my die-cutting machine twice. I then backed the openings with a pale pink polka-dot print I stamped using our Background Basics 2 Stamps. For my greeting, I stamped a punny birthday sentiment from the Summer Sweet Stamps onto a Brilliant Banner 3 Die cut from pale blue cardstock to compliment the blue in the glass dishes. I then filled all the openings with chocolate, vanilla, and strawberry-flavored ice cream treats, with a touch of red accents for the cherries and cola labels.

My second card pairs the swirl soft-serve ice cream cone and the phrase "Did you hear the scoop?" from the Summer Sweets Stamps with the ice cream truck and the hard-serve ice cream cone from our Cruisin' Cuisine Stamps. I had fun coloring one cone to look like chocolate chip mint ice cream to match the retro aqua ice cream truck! I carried through the retro 1950s vibe with a bubblegum pink polka-pot print using the same Background Basics 2 Stamps. and framed the elements on two Rounded Rectangle Mats. Lastly, I die-cut a small pennant strip from aqua-striped patterned paper from our Dots & Stripes Pastels Paper pack using the die from our Notebook Photo Corners Dies and stamped it with my greeting.

Summer Sweets Shaker Tags with Marine

Hello crafty friends, Marine here, thank you so much for stopping by. As I promised last week, I'm back today with more 4th of July inspiration using a fun mix and match on shaker tags. I hope these will inspire you!

As very often, I started off by stamping my images on 110lb Neenah solar white cardstock using an alcohol marker friendly black ink. I cut them all using the coordinating dies, and then colored everything using my Ohuhu markers using the red, white and blue color palette. Here is a detailed list of the stamp sets I used: • Summer Sweets - icecreams, popsicles, milkshakes • Big Panda - sunglasses • North Pole - stars • Balloon Rides - banners.

Next I created three shaker tags. They all may be different in colors, the three of them were made the same way, so here is how I did the blue one, for example:

1. Cut a Scalloped Tag Circle out of blue cardstock, and used a 2,5 inches circle die from my stash to cut an opening out of it, leaving with a blue circle frame

2. Cut a whole Scalloped Tag Circle out of acetate, and attached my blue frame on top using liquid glue

3. Flipped my panel over, and added 2mm foam strips all along the edges of the scalloped edges, following the rounded shape

4. Poured some Americana confetti on the acetate

5. Cut a whole Scalloped Tag Circle out of a Surprise Party starry blue paper

6. Peeled the backing papers off the foam strips, and attached the starry blue panel to the strips to close the shaker tag

7. Cut one last Scalloped Tag Circle out of the same blue cardstock as 1. and stuck it at the back of the tag to make the back of my tag as nice as the front

I created the red shaker tag and the white shaker tag following the same steps, and the white starry paper in the white tag is from the Subtle Grey Tones paper pack.

I added highlights and details to the images using a white gel pen, and then attached them on each tag using 1mm and 2mm foam squares. I created three identical greetings using stamps from Beach Bus. I white heat embossed "Happy" on aqua cardstock and trimmed it into slim banners, I white heat embossed "Summer" on black cardstock, cut them using the matching die, and then attached a "Happy Summer" sentiment on each tag using foam squares again.

Next I tied matching twine to each tag to make handles, created three double bows out of a pretty gingham red ribbon (I wish I had the same in blue and white to make a perfect match) and attached a bow at the top of each tag using liquid glue. Finally I applied white blizzard nuvo drops to the icecreams, popsicles and milkshakes, and glossy accents to the stars to bring shine and sparkle to those tags.

Puppy Parents Card with Tina

Hello crafters, it is Tina and today I am creating a sweet card for my husband, who is an incredible Dad and also a dog lover. Our two dogs Mira and Lena bring so much love and joy in our lives. When I saw the Puppy Parents stamp and die set, I knew it would be perfect for this project!

Of course, I selected the two fluffiest doggies of this adorable bunch since they look just like ours. To set the scene, I also stamped the sweet doghouse, a few balls, the food bowl, and some bones.

After creating a simple white card base, I die cut all the layers for this card. Starting with the white frame (largest of the Fancy Frames Rectangle dies), I backed this frame with a sheet of pink striped paper (Dots & Stripes Pastels) and finally I cut a white arched panel (Stitched Arch dies).

This last piece will become the base for my scene. First, I stamped a cobblestone border (Sprawling Surfaces). Next, I masked off this part of the panel with some Post-It tape and added a pink cloudy sky with a stencil from my stash and Spun Sugar Distress Oxide.

I pulled out my Copic Markers and colored all the images as well as the stone border. But when I did a try-out of the scene and put the dogs in place, it felt a bit busy. A piece of vellum is a good option to soften a busy background. Die cutting with the Stitched Arch again gave me the perfect vellum layer. I used a tape runner for vellum to attach this layer to the background and felt much happier with the design!

The arched shape of the Brilliant Banner 4 die was a perfect match for the scene, my Misti worked great to curve the combined sentiment from the Puppy Parents stamp (the red ink was pulled from my stash).  As a final embellishment, I added a few Pink Spinel Jewels.

Kiddie Pool Card with Amanda

Hey crafty friends and welcome back to the Sunny Studio Stamps Blog! It’s Amanda here and today I’m sharing how I made this summer card!

This card was made using a masking technique. I started by stamping the images in the foreground first, applying masks to the stamped images, and then worked my way to the background images.  

All the images come from the Kiddie Pool Stamps, Tiki Time Stamps, Beach Buddies Stamps, and the Beach Babies Stamps.

To do this, I first stamped the tiki torch, the little girl to the left, the bunny and the dog. Then, I created masks of each of these images by stamping the image onto Heffy Memo Tape and using scissors to fussy cut them out. I placed the masks on top of each image so that I could stamp the next set of images.

Next, I stamped the little bag and masked it off. Then, I stamped the pool and masked it off.  Next up came the other 2 little girls. Then, I stamped the Tiki Bar. Finally, I stamped the little boy. Before removing the masks, I ink blended the sky with Catherine Pooler's Oh Boy! Ink and a blending brush. I also colored in the grass with Copic markers while the masks were still on.

Once that was complete, I removed all the masks and began coloring with Copic markers. I added some white Gelly Roll pen highlights and dots in a few places. I stamped my sentiment last. To finish the card off, I glued it to an A2 card base.

Party Pups Dog-Themed Birthday Cards with Mendi

Hello and welcome! This is Mendi here today, popping in to share some dog-themed birthday cards using our Party Pups Stamps.

For my first card, I paired the sheepdog, balloons, ball, and greeting from the Party Pups Stamps with the Yorkshire Terrier and Chihuahua from our Puppy Dog Kisses Stamps. I framed my little scene using our Rounded Rectangle Mat Dies and layered it with a rainbow striped chevron print and a rainbow polka-dot pattern from our Surprise Party Paper pack.

For my dog balloon strings, I loosely laid them out where I wanted each balloon to go and then added a small dot where the strings would end by the balloon knot and another dot in the center, behind my sheepdog. I then used my clear ruler with a Copic Multiliner pen in .1 thickness to draw strings for my balloons before adhering them to my background.

For my second card, I colored the Corgi, Pomeranian, Old English Sheepdog, Papillon, and Bulldog from the Party Pups Stamps to create an ultimate dog-lover birthday card. I colored each of their cupcake wrappers and party hats in a rainbow of colors to match the patterned papers from our Surprise Party Paper pack. I used the largest die from the Rounded Rectangle Mat Dies set to frame my scene this time. I also used the stitched ribbon from our Ribbon & Lace Border Dies cut from red cardstock to create a divider between my scene, punny sentiment, and the colorful banner paper.
