Designer's Choice: Beach Bus Card with Marine

Hello crafty friends, Marine here with you today, thank you so much for stopping by. Look who's back! The mouse family is up for a new adventure, and this time, they're on vacation at the beach, where there are so many cool activities to do! Once again, it was so much fun to mix and match my stamps to create this little scene.

As very often I went for a slimline style to feature as many images as I could, and started off by creating my beach scenery using stencils from my stash along with oxide inks. On the lower part, I did the ocean/sea using salvaged patina, peacock feathers and blueprint sketch oxide inks. Right above it, I did two sand borders using antique linen and vintage photo oxide inks. And at the very top of my panel, I did a cloudy sky using salvaged patina oxide ink.

Next I did the same texture routine as usual, and to give the illusion of foam on the waves, I dipped a sponge dauber into copic opaque white ink, and dabbed my panel pretty randomly to create that foam effect.

I set my panel aside to dry, and stamped my images on 80lb Neenah solar white cardstock using an alcohol marker friendly black ink. I cut them all using the coordinating dies, and colored everything using my Spectrum Noir Illustrator markers and my Graph'it brush markers.

Here is a detailed list of the products I used: • Beach Bus - van, mouse • Beach Babies - ball, bag, sunscreen, shovels, buckets • Beach Buddies - sunglasses, floaties • Merry Mice - sand mouse • Harvest Mice - mice • Garden Critters - sprigs • Kiddie Pool - snorkel, splatters • Balloon Rides - clouds, sun • Christmas Critters - mouse • Tiki Time - torch • Seasonal Trees - palm tree, coconuts

Once the coloring was done, I attached everything on my panel using 1mm and 2mm foam squares, leaving enough space at the very bottom for my "Happy summer" greeting from Beach Babies that I heat embossed in white. I added highlights and details to the images using a white gel pen, and applied a little bit of white blizzard nuvo drops to the splatters to make them shine.

Designer's Choice: Big Panda & Big Bunny Cards with Tina

Hello crafters, Tina here and for this designer’s choice post I went with two of my absolute favorite sets Big Panda and Big Bunny! Aren’t they just the cutest! Adorable critters … check, shape card … check!

Using the matching dies makes it a breeze to turn these sweeties into cards! Just fold the card base in two and don’t cut the top part. Of course, I always need some birthday cards for my stash so that is what we are making today!

After stamping the images from Big Panda and Big Bunny, I colored them with my Copics in happy colors. To create that festive vibe, I added a cute bow to the bunny and a party hat to the panda (Dots and Stripes Pastel and Joyful Holiday papers). I love how the hat from the Treat Bag Topper Dies is the perfect size for this big bear! Just browsing through your stash can lead to great combinations from old and new supplies!

I mounted the big panda and bunny to the card bases taking care that I did not glue the paw portions since they needed to hold the flowers and letter. The sentiments was selected from the Truckloads Of Love set and stamped onto a small white strip with Versafine Onyx Black ink. Lastly, I glued the banners to the images and sprinkled some Silver Jewels left and right of the sentiments.

Designer's Choice: Baby Elephant Card with Isha

Hello everyone! Isha here with a cute and adorable CAS baby card. I am to create a designer's choice card today and I chose to use some of my all time favourite products.

I started by sponging salty ocean, crushed olive and mowed lawn distress oxide inks onto a white panel. Flick some water to add interest to the background. Next, I die-cut a frame using the Fancy Frames Rectangle die, and used the inside frame to frame my panel.

Stamp the images, color using copic markers and die-cut:
Elephant and sentiment - Baby Elephants stamps and dies
Branch and Birds - Little Birdie stamps and dies

Once the images are ready, adhere to the card using 3d foam tape. Stamp the sentiment and the card is ready.

Designer's Choice: Limitless Labels Cards with Leanne

Hello everyone! Leanne here and today I'm sharing a trio of thank you cards. These A2-sized cards all started with the same simple layout... a strip of patterned paper with an overlapping Limitless Labels 1 mat. This versatile layout design can be used on both landscape and portrait cards.

For these cards, I used a pretty floral pattern and a light green check pattern from Carta Bella's My Valentine Collection. The floral strip is 1.5" wide and placed about .25" from the long edge of the cards.  I used the largest die from Limitless Labels 1 to create the green check mat.

Once you have the base layout of pattern paper strip and large mat in place, the cards can be embellished with whatever suits your fancy.  I decided to go with a summer fruit theme for all of mine. The fruit die cuts were created with the Strawberry Patch, Wild Cherry, and Juicy Watermelon dies. 

I die-cut all the fruit pieces from white card stock and then used small blending brushes and the following Catherine Pooler inks to color: Grass Skirt, Spruce, Rouge, Cotton Candy, & Over Coffee. 

I used some of the smaller dies in the Limitless Labels 1 set to make little mats to stamp the thank you sentiments. These sentiments come from the Punny Fruit Greetings stamp set. This set includes words and short phrases to create custom greetings that cleverly coordinate with the all different fruit themes.

Designer's Choice: Tropical Birds Card with Cathy

Hey friends! Cathy here today and I’ve got a tropical summer card for you with the adorable cockatoos from the Tropical Birds Stamps!

I began this A2 card by creating a patterned background panel to match my color scheme. I die-cut a piece of white cardstock using a Stitched Rectangle Die and then stamped/heat embossed the monstera leaf from the Tropical Birds Stamps all along the outside edges using Speckled Egg Distress embossing glaze. I then inked over the embossed leaves with Speckled Egg Distress ink and adhered the panel to the center of the card front.

Next, I die-cut a piece of white cardstock using the largest Limitless Labels I Die and lightly inked the center of the die-cut with yellow ink focusing on the top and bottom areas. I stamped the “smiles” sentiment from the Radiant Plumeria Stamps in the bottom right with a peach ink and heat embossed it with clear embossing powder. I then adhered the label die-cut centered on the background panel.

For a tropical backdrop, I stamped two hibiscus flowers from the Hawaiian Hibiscus Stamps and five monstera leaves from the Radiant Plumeria Stamps using peach, orange and blue-green inks from my stash. I die-cut them using the coordinating dies and adhered the smaller hibiscus at the top first followed by the five leaves. Before adhering the large hibiscus, I die-cut a piece of white cardstock using the Tree Branch Die, inked it with Frayed Burlap Distress ink, adhered it over the leaves and then added the hibiscus.

To finish, I stamped the cockatoos, monstera leaves and hibiscus from the Tropical Birds Stamps on Neenah Classic Crest 80lb solar white cardstock, colored them with Copics and die-cut them using the coordinating dies. I heat embossed the “Summer” sentiment from the Radiant Plumeria Stamps with white embossing powder on white cardstock and inked over it with yellow and peach inks. I then fussy cut around the sentiment. For a shadow effect and to make the sentiment stand out a bit more, I inked white cardstock with Lost Shadow Distress ink, adhered the sentiment overlapping it and fussy cut along the bottom edge. I then adhered the sentiment using foam dimensional tape.
