Guest Designer Spotlight: Cards with Rachel Alvarado

Hello friends! It's Rachel here from RachelAlvaradoDesigns.com. I am thrilled to be guest designing for the newest Sunny Studio release and have two projects to share with you!

My first project is a mini slimline pop-up box card that measures at 3.5" x 6.5" when folded. I colored a number of the cute little pandas from the new Panda Party Stamp Set with Copic Markers after stamping them onto a sheet of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I used the coordinating Panda Party Die Set to cut them out. I also added a bundle of balloons from the Floating By Stamp Set.

I added some grass by trimming 4 pieces of white card stock to 4" x 2" and die cutting them with the grass die from the Slimline Nature Border Dies. I then blended these pieces with some Bundled Sage Distress Oxide Ink and splattered them with some diluted opaque white paint. I also blended a blue sky background with some Salty Ocean and Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide Ink.

• Pinks: RV02, RV04, RV55, RV66
• Greens: YG01, YG07, YG17, YG67
• Blues: B000, B01, B04
• Purples: V01, V12, V15
• Yellows: Y11, Y13, Y15
• Oranges: YR02, YR04, YR18

For my second card, I made a clean and simple card featuring the cute little pups from the Puppy Love Stamp Set. I wanted the puppies to be the focal point of the card, so I kept my background simple by utilizing the majority of the white space. To start, I trimmed a piece of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock to 4.25" x 5.5". I then stamped my pups onto the lower left corner of my card with some Memento Tuxedo Black Ink. I also stamped my sentiment on the top right corner with the same ink.

I once again used Copic Markers to color my images to finish my card.

Puppy Love Cards with Tina and Vanessa

Hello crafty friends, it’s Tina with a card that features the super cute Puppy Love set which is so adorable for Valentine, but also for any occasion when you want to send a card to a loved one! In my case for my hubby who is a dog lover, well we all are in our family. And since we have two cute Nizinny dogs, Mira and Lena, this set was perfect!  

After stamping and die cutting the two doggies and the hats (from Dashing Dachshund) I colored them with Copic markers in pink and blue shades, which is a bright happy combination for winter cards.

Next, I cut the Autumn Tree die from a piece of Neenah Solar White card stock.
I added some touches of blue with my copics and lots of snow paste sprinkled with fine white glitter. While the tree was drying, I started working on my background layers.

First, I embossed an A2 size piece of Neenah paper with the beautiful Quilted Hearts embossing folder. I love that subtle pattern; it really brings so much dimension and detail to an otherwise plain white background. Next, I cut this embossed piece with the outer part of the Frilly Frames Eyelet Lace die. This created a gorgeous, scalloped border around my panel.

My second background panel was cut, also from Neenah card stock with one of the dies from Scalloped Oval Mat 1. I used Worn Lipstick Distress Oxide and a blending brush to ink up this oval, and splattered on some water droplets and white paint for a snowy effect. After stamping the sentiment from Puppy Love onto a white strip, I added a piece of white glitter paper as a mat for extra sparkle.

To assemble the card, I started by gluing the quilted panel to a card base. I didn’t have the exact same blue shade base, so I used a white one and took my blue copic marker to color a border. A simple trick to create matching card bases!

Next, I added the oval panel with foam tape and adhered the snowy tree with liquid glue. The doggies and sentiment were also mounted with dimensional tape. With all my elements in place, I could figure out where to add the beautiful and sparkly Heart Shapes Pearls. These pearls gave this card all that gorgeous shimmer and shine, just perfect for a very special card!

Hello to you! Vanessa here with a sweet little card using Puppy Love.

I started with a white card base and inked it with light red Distress Oxide ink. Now I stamped the houses from Charming City onto the front. I stamped the images onto white cardstock, colored them with Copics, die-cut everything with the matching dies and adhered the pieces to the card with foam tape.

Then I die-cut the border from the Slimline Basic Borders dies and adhered it to the top of the card. Finally, I stamped the sentiment onto a strip of pink cardstock, trimmed it and added it to the card.

These puppies are adorable, don't you agree? Wishing you a wonderful weekend, everybody!

Puppy Love Cards with Waleska and Marine

Hello Friends, Waleska here! I am back today to share with you my last card of the year! It is super lovely and I know you will love this cute new Puppy Love stamp!

I started my card cutting the Bursting Hearts die with white cardstock, I then adhered a red cardstock behind this piece. I then cut the smallest heart from the Stitched Heart 2 Dies with the same red cardstock I used before and place this piece to the center.

I stamped the cute dog with the heart and colored it with Spectrum Noir markers. I hand cut the dog to put it as a focal point on my card, and finally added the sentiment you are pawsome! Just an adorable little set for your love cards! I hope you have a wonderful end of the year and a happy new year!

Hello crafty friends! Marine here with you today, I'm so glad to be back on the blog to share my final project of the year, showcasing the ever so cute Puppy Love critters on Valentine treat boxes!

I built five simple rectangle boxes (using a video tutorial found HERE), and I wanted them to be colorful, so I picked papers from the Flirty Flowers paper pack to create a rainbow of boxes. I also wanted the recipient of the box to have a peek at what's on the inside, so I used a die from the Mini Mat & Tag 3 die set to cut an opening in the middle of each lid. And to close each opening, I used acetate.

I stamped the Puppy Love cuties on white cardstock using an alcohol marker friendly black ink, cut them using the  coordinating dies, and as always I colored everything using my alcohol markers. And I colored the hearts so that they match the boxes.

Next I white heat embossed five "You're pawsome" greetings from Puppy Love on black cardstock, trimmed them into slim banners, and then I attached the puppies and the sentiments on the boxes using foam squares.

Finally I added white highlights on the images using a white gel pen, and applied Stardust Glitter on each heart to match the sugary and yummy fruit jelly treats inside the boxes. And that's it, super easy and very cute, love those adorable puppies! Thank you so much for stopping by, and see you next year!

Puppy Love Cards with Marie and Alma

Hello Crafty Friends, Marie here. I hope you had a wonderful Christmas!  Today I am sharing a love themed box card featuring Sunny Studio's Puppy Love Stamp. This tiny set is so cute and perfect for all the dog lovers out there as well as for the upcoming Valentine's season.

The box card die that I am using is from Lawn Fawn. My first step was to die cut all the box card pieces from Bristol Smooth cardstock paper. I then cut off the two side flaps and the front flap of the box leaving only the back panel. I wanted to create a very pink card to give to my mom, so I softly ink blended the outside of the box and the back panel using Kitsch Flamingo Distress Ink Oxide. I also distress inked the grass panels using Twisted Citron and Mowed Lawn. To create some cute texture to the the fresh grass, I used some water splatters and quickly dabbed it off with a paper towel. 

After assembling my card, I stamped my images with Distress Ink in Antique Linen onto watercolor paper and colored them using watercolor pencils. I cut my images out using the corresponding Puppy Love Dies. Using the Mini Mat & Tag 1 Dies. Using just the mat portion, I cut out a scallop edged background panel. With a cloud stencil, I created some soft pink clouds for the backdrop which I then attached to the back using double sided tape adhesive. 

To decorate the sides of the box, I used some pink pattern paper from the All Is Bright 6x6 Paper. For the front of the box card, I used the Loopy Letters Dies to create my own " I woof you "sentiment. 

To finish off my card, I adhered my puppies to the inside of the box and embellished their little hearts using Stickles Glitter Glue. I also took some die cut hearts and placed them all over my scene using clear acetate for that awesome floating illusion!  I also added some Glossy Accents to all the hearts for that gorgeous glossy look.

Hi to all, Alma here. Today my card looks a lot like Valentine! I love it to use the bright and colourful pink shades after Christmas. 

The highlight of my card is the cute new Puppy Love Stamps set. I stamped the cute dogs and coloured them with Copic Markers. Then I die-cut the images with the Puppy Love Dies. 

After that I decided to create a shaker card with the Comic Strip Speech Bubbles Die. I die-cut the frame and cut a rectangle card in the same size, that I wanted to use as a background for the shaker card. Then I whipped the background with Distress Oxide Inks Worn Lipstick, Wilted Violet and Picked Raspberry. 

Then I glued the back and front of the shaker card with 3D Pads together and filled a lot of pink sequins in the card. After that I created glitter clouds with the Fluffy Clouds Dies.

For the decoration of my card I die-cut a lot of hearts with Puppy Love Dies. I stamped the sentiment from the Puppy Love Stamps on the Speech Bubbles from the Comic Strip Speech Bubbles Die. 

Now I glued all together! Ready!

Puppy Love Cards with Kavya and Isha

Hi folks, Kavya here. I am back with another project that's a Valentine's Day special release set - Puppy Love! It might be created with Valentine's Day in mind but it can be used for any occasion :) Today's project is a generic card that can be used throughout the year.

I started off by stamping images from Candy Shoppe and Sweet Shoppe stamps sets using pink dye ink on pale pink cardstock. I also stamped a sentiment from the sets using pink dye ink. Then, I added some highlights and shadows using a matching copic marker to make it a bit more dimensional. 

Later, I stamped and colored images from Puppy Love and adhered them to the card base. I finished off my card by matting the pink cardstock on some patterned paper from Dots & Stripes Pastels Paper.

Hello everyone! Isha today with a cute card featuring the Puppy Love stamps and coordinating dies. These puppies are so adorable.

I started by die-cutting the background from white cardstock using the Quilted Heart Landscape die. I then adhered it to a blue card base. I then die-cut a heart from the Stitched Heart 2 dies. Sponged some tumbled glass distress ink.

Next stamp the sentiment and the images from the Puppy Love stamp, colour using copic markers and die-cut using the coordinating dies. Adhere the heart to the card using 3d foam. Adhere the images using 3d foam.

Puppy Love Cards with Cathy and Bobbi

Hey friends! Cathy here today sharing a card featuring the adorable new Puppy Love Stamps that will be available in the upcoming new release!

I started this card by cutting 2 strips of patterned paper from the Subtle Grey Tones Paper and adhering a strip to the top and bottom of an A2 card base. The top strip is 1/2" x 5 1/2" and the bottom strip is 1” x 5 1/2". (This saves on paper since I have a wide cardstock piece on the card front)

Next, I die-cut a piece of white cardstock using the Slimline Scalloped Frame Dies and cut the piece to 5 1/2” long. I inked it with Spun Sugar and Saltwater Taffy Distress inks and splattered a little watered down white acrylic paint with a paintbrush. I matted this piece on gray cardstock and adhered it to the card front approximately 3/8” from the top edge of the card and slightly overlapping the paper pieces.

I die-cut white glitter cardstock using a Heartstrings Border Die and adhered it to the bottom of the inked cardstock piece. I stamped a sentiment from the Lovey Dovey Stamps in gray ink, die-cut it using the coordinating dies and adhered it to the center of the inked cardstock.

I stamped the images from the Puppy Love Stamps on Neenah Classic Crest 80lb solar white cardstock, colored them with Copics and die-cut them using the coordinating dies. To finish, I die-cut hearts using the Stitched Heart 2 Dies from white cardstock, inked them with Tattered Rose Distress ink and heat embossed them with clear embossing powder for a little shine.

Hello Sunny friends, Bobbi here! I hope you’re having a “pawsome” day because today I’m sharing the new Sunny Studio Stamps  set called, Puppy Love stamp set and coordinating dies. This little mighty set offers puppy cuteness and sweet hearts. I used this set to make a 5″ X 7″ card and coordinating smaller, note card.

To create the card, I used one of my favorite Sunny dies called, Bursting Hearts die. I cut it out of black cardstock and since my card is an A7 size, I ran it horizontally across the top of the card. I little strip of gold cardstock finishes the bottom edge.

I stamped the two dogs from the Puppy Love set and colored them in black and gray. I colored the heart in pink, I attached the pup in the middle with some foam tabs to make him stand out and stamped the phrase from the same set in the white space below.

I cut out some hearts from pink cardstock and added them back into the Bursting hearts design to create a focal point on the puppy in the middle. I let the last hearts fall off the edge of the front panel for interest.

For the coordinating smaller note card, I used a white card base and attached a mini mat from the Mini Mat 2 and Tag dies to the front. I added faux black stitching around the edge, the other puppy in the middle and some shadowing below him. I used Luxe Glitter cardstock to fill the heart and stamped smaller hearts colored in pink around the puppy.
