Squirrel Friends Fall Scene Cards with Mendi

Hello and welcome! This is Mendi, popping in to share some fall scene cards featuring our Squirrel Friends Stamps. I challenged myself to create two different takes on the same oak tree theme using identical color palettes.

My first card pairs the squirrels, acorn, and tree stump from the Squirrel Friends Stamps with the Autumn Tree Die. This tree comes with three different types of leaves and apples to personalize it for so many different occasions and seasons. I am in love with all the ways it can be used! For my card today, I cut out the oak leaves from pale yellow cardstock and then inked them up using Scattered Straw, Fossilized Amber, Wild Honey, and Spice Marmalade distress inks. 

I had a piece of 12x12 American Crafts paper in my stash (from Shimelle Main Character Energy collection) that I used for both of my card backgrounds today. I love using subtle tone-on-tone prints to add a little interest to my projects without making them overly busy, so I'm always lurking around the clearance bins to stock up solid tone-on-tone prints with this purpose in mind. As soon as I saw this print, I knew it would be perfect for the blue skies of many of my scene-style cards. For my green hills, I blended Crushed Olive and Mowed Lawn distress inks and then cut the stitched hillsides using our Slimline Nature Border Dies.

Here's a little peek at the inside of my card with the punchline to "You're a little nutty" paying off when the recipient opens the card and sees "& I love it!" with three of the small acorns from the Squirrel Friends set.

For my second card today featuring the Squirrel Friends Stamps, I paired them with a different oak tree from our Fall Scenes Stamps. I also stamped the rake, a pile of leaves, and some other loose oak leaves from the set for my little squirrel to clean up. For my "Leaves are falling, Autumn is calling" sentiment, I used a greeting from the Happy Harvest Stamps and curved it in my Misti lid to match the curve of the fence border. I then stamped the swirling wind for my leaves from the Fall Kiddos Stamps in Hero Arts Cornflower Ink. Lastly, I stamped the tufts of grass using PinkFresh Studio Olive Ink with the small grassy images from the Tulip Path Background Stamps.

Truckloads Of Love Card with Marine

Hello crafty friends, Marine here with you today, I'm thrilled to be back with this autumn card featuring the mouse family again. This time, they're back with their rakes to pick up the falling leaves and keep the neighborhood neat and tidy.

I cut a 7,75 x 2,75 inches slimline panel out of Strathmore bristol smooth cardstock using a Slimline Scalloped Frame die, and created a very simple background. I divided my panel in two sections using washi tape, and started by covering the bottom part with peeled paint distress ink. I mixed that same ink with water and used a slim brush to add green splatters to my grass section. Next I did the sky on the upper part using a cloudy stencil from my stash along with tumbled glass and broken china distress inks. I mixed some broken china distress ink with water and added blue splatters to the sky, and then I did the same with copic opaque white ink and splattered white droplets all over my slimline panel.

When my panel was dry, I stamped my greeting from Fall Friends, attached it to an 8 x 3 inches white panel using 1mm foam tape. I cut a scalloped panel out of aqua cardstock using another Slimline Scalloped Frame die, stuck the white panel to it using liquid glue, and then attached the whole thing to an 8,5 x 3,5 inches green card base using 1mm foam tape again.

Next I stamped my images on 110lb Neenah solar white cardstock using an alcohol marker friendly black ink, I used the coordinating dies to cut them all, and colored everything using my Ohuhu markers and my Graph'it brush markers. Here is a detailed list of the stamp sets I used: • Scenic Route - houses • Woodsy Autumn - trees • Fall Scenes - piles of leaves, rakes, leaves • Truckloads Of Love - truck, pile of leaves (at the back of the truck) • Beach Bus - mouse (driver) • Merry Mice - mice, scarves • Barnyard Buddies - fences.

When the coloring was done, I added highlights and details to the images using a white gel pen, and then attached them all to my card using 1mm and 2mm foam squares.

Harvest Mice Card with Tina

Hello crafters, it’s Tina and I am so excited for the change of the season! Autumn is coming and I made a card with the adorable Harvest Mice stamp and die set.

Not only are these the cutest mice ever, they also are the perfect size and fit for the fun Staggered Circles die. I love having this kind of die in my stash since it is so helpful to create a beautiful design with just one pass through the die cut machine. No measuring or overthinking placement, this die does all the work for you!

My panel was created from a piece of white card stock and cut with a mini slimline die from my stash. Then I cut the five circles with the Staggered Circles die, letting the outer circles overlap with the edge of the panel. Next, I removed the circles and used a large striped stencil to apply the pattern with Saltwater Taffy Distress Oxide and a blending brush.

After creating a matching white card base, I added the striped panel and the 5 white circles. Then it was time to make mini scenes for each circle. I browsed through my stash selected 3 cute mice, some pumpkins and apples, leaves, mushrooms and an acorn from the Harvest Mice and Fall Friends. I used some autumnal Copic colors and a white gel pen for highlights.

Then I played around with placement and mounted the images to the circles with foam tape. Finally, I stamped a combined sentiment (Harvest Mice) on a white piece of card stock with Versafine Onyx Black ink. To match the pumpkins, I scattered a few Orange Topaz Jewels across the card.

Harvest Mice Card with Amanda

Hey, hey crafty friends, Amanda here! Are you dreaming of cooler fall weather?! Fall has been on my mind and I can’t stop making Fall cards! Today, I’m sharing this fun card I made for you using the Comic Strip Speech Bubbles Dies frame that was leftover from my card I shared last week.  

To create this card, I gathered an A2 card base and the Critter Country Paper. I choose a piece of paper that looked like a background for my scene. I trimmed the background paper down to 4.25”x5.5” and glued it to my card base. Then, I glued the frame to that, as well.

Next, I stamped out some of the images from the Harvest Mice and Fall Scenes stamps. I stamped extra rakes and leaves from the Fall Scenes stamps so each mouse would have a rake and there’d be plenty of leaves to rake!

I colored the images with Copic markers. Here are the colors I used:

Leaves: YR15, YR21, Y02, Y35, YR04, YR07, E30, E35, E37, E43, E44, E47, R56, R59, E04
Left mouse: W00, W1, W3, W5, W7, W9, R81, R85
Middle Mouse: E70, E71, E74, E77, E79, R81, R85, B00, B02, B05
Right Mouse: T0, T2, T4, T6, T7, R81, R83, R85

After coloring them, I added some dots and highlights with a white Gelly Roll pen. For my sentiment, I stamped the word “mice” first in Catherine Pooler Mandarin Spice ink. Then, I added the words to either side and stamped them with black ink. I used a paper trimmer to trim the sentiment down into a strip. For the banner edge, I used the tip of my scissors.

Now the fun part! Adding all the images and sentiment to the scene! I used 3D foam squares behind all the images and sentiment and then assembled them onto the card!   

I love how this little scene turned out! The little sweater is just TOO cute on that little mouse!
