Guest Designer Spotlight: Savanna Safari Card with Juliana Michaels

Hello Sunny Studio friends! It's Juliana and I'm so happy to be here as a guest on the Sunny Studio Stamps Blog. Today I'm sharing a slimline card I created using Savanna Safari, which is one of my favorite stamp sets from the Summer release. Who doesn't love cute safari critters?!

I began by stamping images from the Savanna Safari Stamp Set. I also added in a monkey from the Love Monkey Stamps and a sloth from Silly Sloths Stamps. The foliage comes from the Fabulous Flamingo Stamps and Tropical Scenes Stamps. I colored all of the images with Copic Markers and then die cut them using the coordinating dies. You my notice the monkey is holding a banana instead of the love letter that is part of the stamp. I simply fussy cut the letter and then added the banana image to  better fit the theme for this card.

For the background I cut a piece of Bristol Smooth Paper to 3.375 x 8.375 inches and ink blended it with Tumbled Glass Distress Ink. This was then adhered to a white card base that is 3.625 x 8.625 inches. I then went about layering on each of the adorable critters using double sided foam tape to give them some dimension. I then added in the foliage and vine across the top.

To finish off the card I added the die cut hello which is from the Sunny Sentiments Die Set.

Crusin' Cuisine Cards with Angelica and Juliana

Hi friends. This is Angelica, and today I have a fun summer card, featuring the Cruisin' Cuisine stamp set.

I started by coloring the stamped images with Copic Markers, then used the coordinating dies to die-cut them. Next, I made a panel to hold a gift card. I used the Sliding Window Die to die-cut Gingham Pastels Pattern Paper. I put the panel together, following a Jennifer McGuire YouTube tutorial. I used a small Stitched Arch die cut for my pull tab, and added a cute pink Heartstrings Border Dies heart for a fun detail. 

The sentiment comes from Radiant Plumeria stamp set. I white heat-embossed the sentiment onto white card stock, and blended Spun Sugar and Crushed Pistachio Distress oxide inks onto the panel.

Hello Sunny Studio friends! It's Juliana and today I'm sharing a card featuring the Cruisin' Cuisine Stamp Set. I couldn't help but to combine it with the Beach Babies Stamp Set to create a fun summer themed card.

I began by stamping and die cutting images from the Cruisin' Cuisine, Sunny Sentiments and Beach Babies Stamp Sets. I colored them with Copic Markers and then die cut them using the coordinating die sets.

For the background, I die cut a piece of green grass patterned paper from the Spring Fling Paper Pad using one of the Woodland Border Dies. For the clouds, I die cut 3 pieces of cardstock using the Fluffy Clouds Border Dies and used them as a mask. I used Tumbled Glass Distress Ink with a foam blending tool to ink a piece of Bristol Smooth Paper. I then die cut this entire piece using the stitched frame from Frilly Frames Retro Petal Die and layered this entire piece onto a piece of pink patterned paper from the Summer Splash Paper Pad.

Designers Choice Cards with Rachel and Candice

Hello crafty friends! Rachel here with a slimline card featuring the Savanna Safari Stamp Set. 

To start my card, I stamped all of my images with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink onto a sheet of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock and colored them with Copic Markers. I used the coordinating dies to cut them out and set them aside to work on my background.

Copic Colors Used: Elephant: C00, C0, C2, C4 Lion Light Fur: E50, E53, E55 Lion Dark Fur: E55, E57, E59 Giraffe: E40, E41, E43, E44, E33, E37, E29 Hippo: V000, V01, V12, V15, V09 Zebra: W00, W0, W2, W4, W6, W8

For my background, I blended some Distress Oxide Inks (Black Soot, Wilted Violet, Seedless Preserves, Picked Raspberry, and Worn Lipstick) onto a 3.5" x 8.5" piece of smooth white card stock. I then lightly splattered this blended piece with water and blotted it dry with a paper towel. I used my MISTI and black ink to stamp some tree and leaf silhouettes. 

Next, I die cut some grass from black cardstock using the Sunny Sentiments Die by running it through my machine twice to create a longer length. I then heat embossed my sentiment with Fine Detail White Embossing Powder and adhered my images with 3D Foam Adhesive Tape for added dimension.

Hi! Candice with you today wishing you a fabulous Friday! Today I am sharing a fun card using the adorable sloths as they hang out in their trees!

I used these Sunny Studio products to create my scene:

• Silly Sloths stamps & coordinating dies
• Tropical Scenes & coordinating dies

I began with an 8 1/2 x 3 1/2 card base that fits perfectly into your standard size envelopes.

For the background, I trimmed a piece of Bristol Smooth a little smaller than my card base and inked with abandoned coral, dried marigold & squeezed lemonade oxide inks.

Next, I stamped the sloths, leaves, flowers and vines, colored them with Zig clean brush markers, and used the coordinating dies listed above to cut them out. I adhered them with glue or foam tape to add a bit of dimension. I then heat embossed the sentiments on strips of black cardstock in matching colors and adhered to the side with foam tape. To finish, I added a few black Nuvo drops to draw your eye down the card.

Tropical Scenes Card with Leanne

Hi crafty friends, Leanne here! Are you ready for some tropical inspiration today? I have a fun beach scene to share that all started with a cute island and palm tree from the Tropical Scenes stamp set.  

First I started by creating a pretty ink blended background. I used three colors of Distress Oxide Ink - Squeezed Lemonade, Spun Sugar, and Blueprint Sketch.  

I used six different Sunny Studio stamp sets to create the scene and custom greeting. The island & palm trees are from Tropical Scenes. The girl, bag, sunscreen bottle, pail, & shovel are from Beach Babies. The crab is from Oceans of Joy and the sun is from Sunny Sentiments. 

Copics used: YG11, YG13, YG17, E40, E41, E43, E44, E000, E00, E21 YR12, YR18, YR21, YR24, Y32, Y11, Y15, Y17, RV52, RV63, RV55, B60, B63

For the part stamped, part die cut greeting I used the following: "sending you" from Sending Sunshine, Sunshine Word Die, "& smiles" from Breakfast Puns. I colored the die cut word sunshine with Copic markers to get the ombre' look. To complete the card I added a Rectangle Fancy Frame.
