Tropical Trees Backdrop Die Focused Cards with Vanessa and Audrey

Hello to you! Vanessa here with a summer card combining the Tropical Trees Backdrop dies with various sets.

I trimmed a panel of white cardstock slightly smaller than the card base. Now I used the Swimming Pool Die to trim off the edge of the water. I inked the bottom part with Brushed Corduroy Distress Oxide ink to create the beach, masking off the sky with masking paper I cut with the Slimline Nature Borders Dies and inked the top part with Tumbled Glass ink. Now I inked a smaller panel with the blue ink, too and adhered it behind the beach panel and onto the card. I stamped the images and die-cut the palm tree, colored everything with Copic markers, die-cut the images with the matching dies and adhered all elements to the card. 

Again, I used a variety of sets:
Beach Babies stamps + dies
Sealiously Sweet stamps + dies
Passionate Penguins stamps + dies
Tiki Time stamps
Chloe Alphabet Dies
Tropical Trees Backdrop
Swimming Pool Dies

Now I die-cut the letters, inked them with the same ink I used for the water, matted them with black letters to create a shadow and adhered them. After I had die-cut and added the clouds, I finally stamped the rest of the sentiment.

Hello friends! Audrey here with a tropical nighttime scene to share with you!

I started off by inking a piece of white cardstock cut to 4.25" x 5.5" with Distress inks in Villainous Potion, Wilted Violet, Picked Raspberry and Carved Pumpkin, then I splattered with some clean water and some metallic watercolor to add some extra interest. I die cut the Tropical Trees Backdrop and a trio of palm trees and clouds from black cardstock and glued everything down with a glue pen. I added a tiny car from the Comic Strip Everyday die set, which coordinates perfectly with a sentiment from the Country Carnival stamp set. 

To finish off the night sky, I added a scattering of white starts die cut using the Basic Mini Shape Dies II die set and then added some white gel pen accents to the clouds. This simple card packs a punch with the high contrast of the bright sunset sky and the dark die cuts.

Tropical Trees Backdrop Die Focused Cards with Kavya and Isha

Hi folks, Kavya here with you. I am back on the blog with another fun summer card using the new Tropical Trees Backdrop die. 

I first started off by creating my background by ink blending Seedless Preserve, Picked Raspberry and Dried Marigold for the sky. For the water, I used Peacock Feathers and Mermaid Lagoon. Then, using dark blue cardstock, I die cut the land and palm trees from Tropical Trees and also added a sun using a yellow hand cut circle. 

Finally, I colored and stamped a bunch of images from Beach Buddies, Beach Babies and Kiddie Pool stamp sets and added a sentiment from Kiddie Pool to finish my card!

Hello everyone. Isha here sharing the Tropical Trees Backdrop dies. Hope you are having a wonderful summer. I love the sunset colours and watercolours, so that's what I went with.

I started by creating the background using various watercolours to get the sunset look. Die-cut this piece using the Stitched Oval 2 dies. I then die-cut the trees and the ground using the Tropical Trees Backdrop dies. I added colour to them using daniel smith watercolours. 

Next I stamped the cute elephant from the Baby Elephants stamp set using antique linen distress ink onto watercolour paper. I coloured it giving the no-line watercolour look. Love the effect. Die-cut the image using the coordinating dies. Stamp the sentiment. 

Adhere the oval to a white card. Adhere the images. Thank you for dropping by and have a nice day!

Kiddie Pool Cards with Marine and Marieke

Hey crafty friends, Marine here with you today. This year I've decided to celebrate "Christmas in July" so I'm back with a fun Christmas at the beach box card showcasing the adorable Kiddie Pool stamp set. 

As you can see on the pictures, my little scene is quite busy, I picked some additional images from different stamp sets:

Beach Babies - balloon, sandcastle, parasol, bag, sunscreen and bucket
Beach Buddies - sunglasses
Seasonal Trees + Sending Sunshine - palm trees
Scenic Route - strings of lights
Penguins Pals - penguins for their hats
Fintastic Friends - seaweeds

As always I started off by stamping the images using an alcohol marker friendly black ink, cut them all using the coordinating dies and then colored everything using my alcohol markers, and to stay in the Christmas theme, I obviously used a lot of red.

Next I worked on the pop-up box card. I cut all the different elements to build it, including some panels using papers from Spring Sunburst + All Is Bright + Very Merry. Please watch the video (linked down below) to see how this pop-up box card was put together.

Once the box card was assembled, I attached all my cute images inside of it, using glue dots mostly, as well as liquid glue at some places. And to give the illusion that some of the images (balloon + water splatters) are in the air, I stuck those images on thin strips of acetate using glue dots, and then attached those strips inside the box using glue dots again.

For the final details, I cut a yellow frame that I attached around the window on the front of the box card. I also used a die from the Stitched Rectangle die set to cut a banner out of black cardstock, and white heat embossed my sentiment "Warm thoughts for a joyful Christmas season" from Foxy Christmas on it.

And that's it! We have a fun and festive pop-up box card. Looks like they're all having the time of their lives. Hello Sunny Studio friends, Marieke here. Today I hope to inspire you with a series of Artist Trading Cards. 

For today I started with the background. I cut three pieces of white cardstock and ink blended the water / sky scene using Vintage Photo, Antique Linen, Peacock Feathers, Cracked Pistachio, Squeezed Lemonade, Carved Pumpkin and Picked Raspberry. Splattered some water and added some white paint on the waves.

Cut the tree larger rectangles using pattern paper and glued them together. Die cut the Trees out of the Tropical Trees Backdrop and added them onto the cards. Cut a sun out of yellow cardstock and trimmed it down into half a sun.

Stamped all the images out of the Kiddie Pool stamp. Colored them up using my Copic markers and cut them using the Kiddie Pool dies. Adhered the images and stamped the sentiment out of the Sending Sunshine stamp directly onto the card.

Guest Designer Spotlight: Kiddie Pool Cards with Anja Bytyqi

Hello everyone, Anja here with you today. I’m happy to be back again as a guest designer on the Sunny Studio blog. This time I'm sharing two cards made with the Kiddie Pool Stamps. I love how well these stamps work with other products!

For my first card, I created a colorful scene using the inflatable swimming pool along with two of the kids who are having some splashy summer fun in the garden.

First, I started off with ink blending the faded sky background onto a white A2 panel. I used Tumbled Glass and Salvaged Patina Distress Oxide Ink. To create a bit of texture, I splattered on Peacock Feathers Distress Oxide Ink as well as white gouache paint. When everything was completely dry, I stamped the big scripty word 'Summer' from the Radiant Plumeria stamp set in VersaMark Ink and heat embossed it with bright pink embossing powder. The sub sentiment was stamped underneath in VersaFine Onyx Black Ink.

I trimmed down a green dotted paper from the Heroic Halftones 6x6 Paper Pack. At the top, I used the grassy border from the Picket Fence Border Die set. I adhered the grass panel flat to the background.

Next, I picked a couple of summer accessories from the Beach Buddies (sun hat, beach bag, rolled towels and suncream) and the Beach Babies (beach ball) set. I stamped all the images in Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and colored them with Copic Markers. I cut them out with the coordinating dies and adhered everything with liquid glue and foam tape. To finish off the card, I added some water droplet images next to the girl which has been tucked into the water.

On my second card, I used the Swimming Pool Die in addition to the stamps to create another summer scene.

I created an A2 landscape card base from Naturals White cardstock which has lots of small brown speckles. I die cut the swimming pool from white and grey cardstock (railing). I did the outer piece twice, colored the top one with Copics and then stacked the die cuts together. The water was inked with Tumbled Glass and Salvaged Patina Distress Oxide Ink. I let it dry and inlaid it back into the tiled piece.

Once again, I used some accessory images from the sets mentioned above to complete my pool scene. I stamped them in Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and did some Copic coloring. Everything was cut out with the matching dies and adhered with liquid glue or foam tape.

The sentiment is from the Sealiously Sweet set and I stamped it in VersaMark Ink onto a black cardstock strip. I heat embossed it with white embossing powder and adhered the strip at the top of the card.
