Furever Friends: Kitty Faces Purrfect Birthday Card + Winners

Hi there!  I hope you're having a Sunny Monday in your neck of the woods!  I am excited to be sharing some more Furever Friends.  The idea for this card woke me up out of a sound sleep.  I thought it would be fun to stamp one of the kitty's faces repeatedly onto small pieces of scratch cardstock.  I then colored them as all sorts of varieties and cut them out leaving just the heads.

I inked up my background using Salty Ocean distress ink and then when it was good and dry, heat embossed my sentiment with white embossing powder.  For my little kitty faces, I arranged them on the diagonal and popped them up on my card using foam tape.  I was a bit unhappy with the extra space between them so I then took that same Salty Ocean distress ink and stamped some subtle tone-on-tone hearts between them.

I wasn't about to fussy cut all those whiskers so when I was nearly done, I sketched in some new whiskers on my background using a .3 Copic Multiliner pen.

That wraps up today's card.  For those of you who have started to receive your orders and have created some projects with your new stamps and dies, don't forget we would love to see them!  Share them with us on our Facebook Page and upload them to our Flickr Group.  I will be sharing projects that catch my eye on our Sunny Saturday posts in the near future.  ;)

Also before I go I wanted to announce the winners from our Sunny Studio Blog hop.  Congratulations ladies! Please email me at info@sunnystudiostamps.com with your favorite stamp set and mailing address.  :)

Furever Friends: Smitten Kitten Tabby Cat Card

Today I have a Furever Friends card to share using the curled up kitty image which I colored with my Copic markers to look like a big orange tabby cat.

For my background I was looking for a complimentary color that would make my kitty pop so I chose to blend peacock feathers and mermaid lagoon distress inks.  I then cut my panel down to 3.75" x 5" and punched a 2" circle out of the right side to make room for my sentiment.

Before I adhered my kitty, I colored in a little shadow below him by drawing a freehand oval with my Neutral Grey Copic marker.  To finish my card I topped the little stamped hearts with glossy accents to make them shine.

Don't forget today is the last day to get those comments in for the blog hop we had on Tuesday.  I will be back to announce the winners on Monday.  I hope you have a happy and relaxing weekend!  :)

School Time: You're A Good Apple Card

Today I have one last card to share from the School Time stamp set.  This time I wanted to create a card that would be suitable for anyone so I focused on the apple image and coordinating sentiment in the set.

Once again I knew I was going to fussy cut these apples so I was fairly sloppy in my coloring and focused on just getting them nice and blended with my Copic markers.  I added my highlights by using lighter colors on the upper right and some darker colors for my shadows on the bottom left.  Seriously quick and easy!

To ground my sentiment I stamped it over the notebook paper image which I tied with some red Baker's Twine.  Along the bottom of my card I used my favorite Petite Prints paper by Doodlebug.

Check back tomorrow when I will share some of my ideas using the Birthday Smiles set.  Hope your day is extra amazing!  :)

School Time: You Rule Rainbow Ruler Background Card

Hi there!  Did you get a chance to check out all the amazing inspiration from our blog hop yesterday?  It was thrilling for me to see these talented ladies which I greatly admire creating beautiful projects with stamps I designed!  I still can't believe it's real.  I was equally touched by all the sweet comments that were left--Thank you for making our debut such a success!  You have made my heart happy!  If you didn't have time to take a look yesterday, there's still time to hop along and comment for your chance to win one of three stamp sets.  :)

With back to school still fresh on everyone's mind, I have another card to share from the School Time stamp set.  For this card I stacked the rulers to create a rainbow background using various colors of distress ink.  To make lining up everything easier I stamped them individually and cut them out (which was super quick with my paper trimmer since they are all straight lines).

To finish of my card front, I stamped the notebook paper image and stamped the sentiment over the top with red ink.  I then punched them out using a circle punch and adhere the circle to a basic metal rimmed tag I purchased at an office supply store.

For the twine I wrapped my card front a couple times with it and then knotted it behind where the tag would go, cutting off the excess. I then popped up my tag with foam tape on either side of the tag (leaving a small channel where the twine would sit) and tied a separate bow around the tag.  This gives the appearance that my tag was tied onto the card, but without all the fuss of trying to get my bow just right.

I'll back tomorrow with one last School Time card.  Until then, I hope you have a wonderful day!  :)

Sunny Studio Grand Opening Blog Hop!

Hello & welcome to the Sunny Studio Grand Opening Blog Hop!  I'm so happy you're here!  For those of you who haven't heard, we are a brand new company offering high-quality photopolymer stamps and matching dies made right here in the USA.  I designed the stamps myself and I couldn't be more excited to be sharing them with all of you today!

My first card features the School Time stamp set which is one of my personal favorites!  I colored each of the stars with Copic markers and then added some sparkle using a clear Wink of Stella pen and some glossy accents over the top.

My next card uses the Happy Home stamp set.  I wanted to give my home a warm feel so I colored the windows in with a yellow marker to make them glow and contrasted it with cool greys for the shadows of my Colonial home.  For my trees I colored them like I would for the daytime and then I went over them all with a dark grey marker, adding more intense shadows where they would be tucked behind the house.

I inked up my background using Salty Ocean, Chipped Sapphire and Black Soot Distress inks and then added stars using Golden Rod Stickles.  I love the results!  :)

Sunny Studio Blog: Home Is Where Your Heart Is Glowing House at Night Handmade Card using Happy Home 4x6 Clear Craft Stamps

My last card was created using a free digital stamp I am offering you all today, featuring seasonal variations of the tree found in the Happy Home set.  DOWNLOAD HERE

I would love to see the projects you create with it!  You can share all your Sunny Studio projects to our Flickr group page HERE.

I have been receiving some questions about how the new fishtail banner dies work so I also threw together a quick little tutorial on them.  Please bear with me... This was my first video attempt so it's far from perfect (you can watch it at YouTube HERE).  ;)

Hope these ideas inspire you in your own cardmaking today. Thanks so much for visiting us.
