Guest Designer Spotlight: Cards with Leanne West

Hi friends! Leanne West here today and I’m so happy to be back with three more projects showcasing the fantastic Holiday release stamps and dies. I’ll be sharing all the Sunny Studio products I’ve used and some details for each so let’s get started.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Happy Owlidays Foxy Christmas Santa's Stocking Dies Christmas Themed Cards by Leanne West

This first card features the adorable little owls from the Happy Owlidays stamp set. I’ve stamped and colored all three owls with Copic markers. I’ve used E70, E71, and E74 for the owl’s body - a nice cool brown combo for winter critters. I used the coordinating dies to cut out all my colored images. I then used the Window Trio Square die to create a long banner with openings to house my owls. The frame part is cut from the light grey dotted pattern paper from the Holiday Cheer 6x6 paper pack. For the small squares behind the owls, I inked up some white card stock with Salty Ocean Distress Oxide ink and dotted with white paint.

I used an A6 sized white card base and covered the front with some of the red gingham paper cut slightly smaller. This paper is also from the Holiday Cheer 6x6 paper pack. I adhered the window frame banner with foam adhesive. I added the blue background squares and then the owls. I white heat embossed sentiments from the Happy Owlidays stamp set onto some black card stock strips. After I added the sentiment strips, I felt the card needed just a bit of embellishment. I die cut three stars using dies from the Window Trio Square set and added them in two clusters with some clear sequins.

My next card features two of the little foxes from Foxy Christmas. I have a go-to Copic combo for foxes - E13, E15, and E17. It’s the perfect reddish brown. I wanted to create a winter scene for my foxes so I used the birch tree dies from the Rustic Winter set to die cut three trees. I cut a panel of Bristol Smooth card stock slightly smaller than an A2 sized card and sponged on some Chipped Sapphire Distress Oxide Ink. To give the look of some additional trees in the background, I took the negative cut from the birch tree dies and used it as a stencil to add four trees with the Chipped Sapphire ink. I liberally splattered white paint over the background for a snowy look.

I created three snowy hills using the Woodland Border dies. I lightly inked the bottom of each with Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide Ink and then layered them over the background panel. I added the images to the scene and tucked some in between the snow layers. I added a sentiment from the Foxy Christmas set. I cut a banner using a die from the Fancy Frames Rectangles set and heat embossed the sentiment in silver. Lastly I added some dots of Nuvo Crystal Drops in white to the background for even more snow!

For my last project, I’ve used the Santa’s Stocking dies to make a decorative gift card holder. I started by adhering strips of pattern paper from the Holiday Cheer 6x6 paper pack to a piece of sturdy white card stock. This is a great way to use up those paper scraps! I then cut two stockings - one from the paper pieced panel and one from plain white. I used my sewing machine to stitch the front and back of the stocking together. I die cut the top cuff, heel, and stocking toe pieces from white card stock and embossed these pieces using the Cable Knit embossing folder.

To decorate the stocking, I added the holly and berries onto the cuff and then tucked two die cut candy canes inside. I used some bakers twine to tie a bow around one of the candy canes. To finish, I added a silver heat embossed sentiment on a oval label I die cut using the smallest Stitched Oval die. The sentiment is from the Gleeful Reindeer stamp set. The opening of the stocking is the perfect size to insert a gift card inside and by adding a hanger with the twine this can also be used as an ornament. I plan on making several of these to have on hand for the holiday season.

Thank you for joining me today! I hope I have offered you some new ideas for your Christmas crafting projects. I will be back in December with one more round of projects using these fun holiday products so I’ll see you then!

Foxy Christmas Joyful Christmas Season Card with Lexa

Hello everyone! Lexa here today with another Christmas card using the adorable Foxy Christmas stamps and the coordinating dies. Super cute foxy friends are here to celebrate a joyful season with you. This stamp set is perfect not only for Christmas and winter greetings, but also for any season of the year. Let's get started right away.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Foxy Christmas Here Comes Santa Rustic Winter Joyful Christmas Card by Lexa Levana

First, I stamped three foxes and a pile of presents with Versafine black ink and watercolored them with Distress Markers. After I finished with the coloring, I used the coordinating dies to cut each of them. I created the background by blending Worn Lipstick and Abandoned Coral Distress Inks and then stamped some of the trees from Here Comes Santa Stamps with red and black dye inks. Two color stamping is a good way to create dimension and depth of the trees on the background.

As for the front ground, I used a birch tree from Rustic Winter Dies. After I finished creating my little scene, I adhere it to a pretty patterned paper from Holiday Cheer 6x6 Paperpad and a sparkling twine for an accent. The sentiment is white embossed on a back side of the same patterned paper I use for the base.

That's all for today, I hope you like today's inspiration as much as I do. Thank you so much for stopping by and have a wonderful day!

Santa's Stocking Dies Shaped Christmas Card with Vanessa

Hello Sunny Studio friends! Vanessa here with a shaped card using the Santa's Stocking Dies. Don't you love these dies? They are so cute, don't you agree? Here is what I came up with.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Santa's Stocking Dies Happy Owlidays Foxy Christmas Shaped Christmas Card by Vanessa Menhorn

I die-cut the front of my card from red striped patterned paper from the Striped Silly 6x6 Paper pad and from white felt. Then I die-cut the other elements from cardstock, assembled everything and adhered it to my stocking. I stamped the little owl from Happy Owlidays, colored it with Copics, die-cut it with the matching die and adhered it to the card with foam tape.

Now I stamped the sentiment from Foxy Christmas onto a strip of green cardstock, heat-embossed it with white embossing powder, die-cut the pennant from the Fancy Frames Rectangle Dies from it and adhered it to the stocking. Finally, I tied a bow from baker's twine and added it to the pennant.

I love the size of this stocking! It can be perfectly used for a tag or a card. Thank you for visiting today!

Build-A-Tag Festive Christmas Gift Tags with Franci

Hi there! Franci here with you today with some festive gift tags featuring the new Build-A-Tag #2 die set.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Build-A-Tag Playful Polar Bears Blissful Baking Festive Christmas Gift Tags by Franci Vignoli

I love this new die set and I especially love creating happy tags for Christmas. So for today, I combined them with some older sets and a lovely red checked paper from the new Holiday Cheer 6x6 paper pack.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Build-A-Tag Playful Polar Bears Blissful Baking Festive Christmas Gift Tags by Franci Vignoli

First, I die cut all of the elements to build my tags, using kraft cardstock, patterned paper, and white cardstock (to have a nice backing and perfect for stamping my sentiment). I also stamped lots of images from the Playful Polar Bear set and the Blissful Baking set. These bears were released some time ago, but they're still my fave and I think they are super cute all dressed up with cookies and sweets for Xmas!

I colored all my images with Copics, before cutting them out and piecing the tags all together. I stamped my sentiment, "baked with love", and a little star on the back, and then I adhered all of the elements down on the front of my tags with a combo of liquid glue and foam adhesive.

I added a little bell with some gold twine and a little bow to each tag, and I also added lots of details to all of the images with a white gel pen. Here's a closer look to the sled, filled with lots of Christmas goodies. Isn't it cute?

Eskimo Kisses Friendship Christmas Card with Juliana

Hello friends! It's Juliana Michaels and today I'm sharing a merry little Christmas card I created using the Eskimo Kisses stamp set.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Eskimo Kisses Frosty Flurries Merry Sentiments Woodland Borders Friendship Christmas Card by Juliana Michaels

I began by stamping and coloring the winter cuties with Copic markers. I then die cut them with the coordinating dies. Next, I took the Woodland Borders die set and cut out four trees from Bristol Paper and inked them up using Distress Oxide Ink in Peeled Paint, Mowed Grass and Espresso. I then took the same die and cut out two snowy hills from white cardstock.

For the background, I repeatedly stamped the Frosty Flurries stamp set onto a piece of Bristol Paper with Versamark Embossing Ink and heat embossed it with white embossing powder. Once the entire background was stamped and embossed, I inked it with a mix of Distress Oxide Ink in Salty Ocean and Blueprint Sketch. I wanted to add a touch of snow to the evergreen trees, so I stamped them with the Frosty Flurries stamp set too and heat embossed them with white embossing powder as well.

To finish off the card, I stamped the sentiment from the Merry Sentiments stamp set. I then die cut a piece of black cardstock using the Merry Word die.

Thanks so much for stopping by today! I hope you enjoyed this merry little Christmas card using a mix of holiday products from Sunny Studio Stamps!
