Comfy Creatures Island Window Card with Eloise

Hey everyone! Eloise here today and I’m here to create a super fun window type card for today’s project. I really enjoyed all the stamp sets from this release, but honestly my personal favourite set from this release was the Island Getaway set. I loved that palm tree image so so much! Plus all the other elements in the set to make scenes, which is my thing, just make the set so amazing. So for todays card I’m going to be using the Island Getaway set along with the Comfy Creatures, Summer Picnic and Sending my Love stamp sets to create my card today. I’m also going to be pulling in the Fresh and Fruity Dies to create my windows in my card today also.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Island Window Card by Eloise Blue (using Comfy Creatures Summer Picnic, Sending My Love & Island Getaway)

So to begin my card today I knew I wanted some images to peak out through some sort of windows. So I was digging through my stash to see if there was some simple shape die that I could use to make a repeating pattern to create some windows and I came across the die that cuts the orange slice in the Fresh and Fruity Die set and it was just a simple circle die – so I used this to create my windows today. I ruled up some guides just using a light hand and a pencil and make spots so the circle die could line up well and create the 6 circles I wanted. Once it was ruled up I ran my die through 6 times to create the pattern.

I now needed to pick out my images I wanted to use. So I used the tree, island, waves border, hibiscus flower and the monkey in the bathing suit from Island Getaway, the panda / koala head, tail and bodies in bathers from the Comfy Creatures set and the cat head from Sending my Love. I coloured all my images in using my Zig Clean Colour Markers once again and then die cut them all using the coordinating dies.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Island Window Card by Eloise Blue (using Comfy Creatures Summer Picnic, Sending My Love & Island Getaway)

Now it was time to arrange my card together. I first placed a blue cardstock panel behind the window panel and drew around the circles to know where to put my images. I worked through one circle at a time positioning and cutting down the images to fit inside the circle so it doesn’t hang over into the above and below circles. I used all flat runner adhesive for this, as it was easier to keep it all flat.

To finish up my card, I first adhered a piece of green cardstock to my card base and then adhered the blue panel with all the images adhered to the green card base too. I then used some foam adhesive to adhere the window piece over the blue piece with the images and then I needed to figure out the sentiment. I pulled out my Summer Picnic stamp set and stamped ‘relax, it’s your day!’ in some Versamark ink on some black cardstock and heat embossed it in white. I lastly adhered the sentiment with some foam tape also to the window piece and that finished up my card.

I hope you enjoyed my window card today, I had a lot of fun making it and being able to use so many of those cute little animals that you can sort of dress up.

Comfy Creatures Island Retirement Card with Eloise

Hi everyone, Eloise here and I’m going to be creating a fun retirement card that would be perfect for someone going to retire on a island somewhere, or I guess someone that’s dreaming about it would work too! I’m going to be using the new Comfy Creatures stamp set as my focal point, but I’m also going to be pulling in the kitty head from the Sending My Love set (a previously released set) and the island from the new Island Getaway stamp set too, since it works perfectly with the two little summery bodies in their bathers from the Comfy Creatures set.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Comfy Creatures and Island Getaway Summer Card by Eloise Blue.

To begin my card I chose the two summery looking bodies, the monkey’s head, flower and the two tails from the Comfy Creatures stamp set. I also took the little island from the Island Getaway set and the cat head from Sending My Love to stamp and colour too. To colour these in, I’m going to be using watercolours. I’ve been completely obsessed with water colouring everything lately!  I stamped out my images in black ink and clear embossed over them and then coloured in my images with Zig Clean Colour markers. To cut out all my images I used the coordinating dies from all three sets.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Comfy Creatures and Island Getaway Summer Card by Eloise Blue.

For a little bit of a different background I decided to cut down a piece of watercolour cardstock and then cut it at a diagonal to create two different angled panels. I thought it would be fun and a little bit of a different look. I used some Distress Inks on both pieces using various yellows on the top panel and blues on the bottom panel. I sort of figured it looked like sand and water I guess. I the splattered some water on to give a splotchy look – I love doing this! I adhered the two angled pieces together with some washi tape on the back side to make sure they don’t shift and then I added some fun foam at the back to permanently adhere them together and then adhered it onto my card base. I then took my images and mounted them all on foam adhesive and placed them down into the bottom right corner of my card. To finish off my card I stamped out the ‘Happy Retirement’ sentiment from the Comfy Creatures set and white heat embossed it on a strip of black cardstock. I also adhered this using foam adhesive.

I hope you enjoyed my project today. I just love creating island scenes and I think those little bodies from the Comfy Creatures set is just perfect and I also love how it works so well with other stamp sets and you can mix and match from previously released sets – just makes it that much more versatile!

Make sure you check back tomorrow and the rest of the week to see what the other design team ladies have designed! I’m sure they’re going to be fantastic.

Comfy Creatures Tri-fold Birthday Card by Eloise

Hello everyone! Eloise here and I’m so excited to show you my first project that I made. Today I have a fun tri-fold card for you all featuring the new Comfy Creatures and Summer Picnic sets as well as a few other stamps sets from the previous release.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Tri-fold Birthday Card by Eloise Blue (using Comfy Creatures, Sending My Love, Summer Picnic, A Good Egg & Sunny Sentiments).

So for today's card I began with knowing I wanted to do a tri-fold card, just for something a little bit different.  I began with cutting down a piece of watercolour cardstock to 11 ¼” by 5 ½”. Once my cardstock was cut down, I scored each section at 3 ¾” so then once it’s folded up, they are all equal sections. Once that was done, I needed to create different heights for each of the layers on the card. For this I just used my paper trimmer and cut down two of the sides that are folding in and cut them both at different angles so when the card was folded in once again, they would look like hills.

I then moved onto the ink blending. I opened the card up fully and blended first some blue onto the background piece. I masked off each sides of the card to make sure they stayed a nice white. For the blue colours I used Tumbled Glass, Broken China and a little Salty Ocean and blended the three together to create an ombre effect. I then moved onto the next layer that folds in and for that I used Mowed Lawn and a little Forest Moss. Then next was the first layer of the card and for that I used mostly Twisted Citron with a little Mowed Lawn. I then took some water on a paint brush and tapped it over the Distress Ink to create a fun water splotch look.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Tri-fold Birthday Card by Eloise Blue (using Comfy Creatures, Sending My Love, Summer Picnic, A Good Egg & Sunny Sentiments).

For the images, I used a bunch of stamp sets to create a fun scene. I stamped out the clouds, sun and the bee from Sunny Sentiments, I used the bow and then the eggs from A Good Egg to make some fun balloons, I just turned them upside down and drew on my own bottoms to them to make balloons. I also used the tree from the new Summer Picnic set, the Monkey face/tail along with the body from the new Comfy Creatures set and then I used the hands with the present from Sending My Love since I wanted it to be a birthday card – I love how all these sets work so well together to create a fun scene!

I coloured in all the images with various Copic Markers and then cut them all out. There are coordinating dies for all these images also. I then adhered all of my images onto my scene. For the sentiment I used the ‘Happy Birthday’ from the Comfy Creatures stamp set and white heat embossed it onto some black cardstock. I then adhered it onto the card with some foam adhesive. For a finishing touch I used my Wink of Stella Glitter pen to put over some of the images.

Thanks for stopping by today, I hope you enjoyed and make sure you check out the blog tomorrow for more inspiration!

Sunny Borders Sending You Big Hugs Card by Marion

Hi there. It's Marion here with two cards for you which feature the Sunny Borders and the Sending My Love stamp sets.

I started by stamping the stitched zig-zag border repeatedly in three different colours at the bottom of my white focal panel. I then stamped and coloured the critters onto another piece of card stock and coloured them with Copics. After fussy cutting around them, I popped them up on some mounting foam to add dimension.

I did the same for the second card, but just changed up the colours and the critter and mounted them on different coloured card bases.

Once again I masked off an area on my card base with masking tape and blended in some distress ink (Mustard Seed and Spiced Marmalade). The penguin is from the Bundled Up stamp set, the balloons are from the Birthday Smiles stamp set and the sentiment is from the Sending My Love stamp set. The images were all coloured with Copic Markers.

Backyard Bugs Little Snail Mail Card with Melissa

Hello everyone, Melissa here! Today I have a card to share using the stamp set Backyard Bugs (and the letter from Sending My Love). This set is my favorite from the spring release, it is so good for making scenes and the little bugs are too cute!
Sunny Studio: Backyard Bugs Snail Mail Card by Melissa Bowden.

To make this card I first stamped the sentiment on the top of a small rectangle of white card. I wanted to do this first so I knew exactly how much room I had to fit my scene. I then stamped and masked all of the images, starting in the foreground and working my way back. I then removed all of the masks and colored the images with Copic markers. To finish up the card I attached it to a piece of yellow patterned paper.

I hope you enjoyed the card for today and that you love this stamp set as much as I do! Don’t forget to check back for more inspiration!

Hi everyone! It's Elise again to share a cute set of note cards that feature Sunny Studio Stamps "Sending My Love" stamp set and die

Sunny Studio: Valentine's Day Sending My Love Note Cards by Elise Constable (using Sending My Love stamps & Sunny Sentiments dies)

I wanted to make something that would be easy to slip into a lunch box or tie onto a gift for Valentine's day, and this set is the perfect set to use!  I stamped and colored the images with Prismacolor pencils, and used the coordinating dies to cut them out. I added some blue ink to the background for the sky, and I also used the "Sunny Sentiment" dies to cut some grass from green card stock. I glued the images to the scene, and stamped the sentiment in black ink.

I kept things pretty simple with this card. I sponged on some clouds and grass with some masks and distress inks. Sending My Love Happy Mail Kitty Cat Card with Melissa

Hello everyone, Melissa here! Today I have a card to share using the newly released stamp set Sending My Love. This set is super versatile, by swapping out the hands of the little critters, it could suit many different occasions!   I decided to make a pretty simple card today.

To make the card I first cut out a rectangle out of white card and also a little banner. I stamped the banner with the sentiment and added some stitching to the edge with a Copic multi liner.  I then stamped the cat, the love heart and the little envelopes, colored them with Copic markers and fussy cut them out.

To assemble the card I first stuck the white rectangle onto a piece of patterned paper. I then added the banner and lined up the cat, heart and envelopes across the top.

Sweet Script "You Have My Heart" Card with Heidi

Hello everybody, Heidi here! Today I am sharing a very fun Valentine's card featuring custom made sentiment using the Sweet Script stamp set, images from the adorable Sending My Love stamp set, and the Stitched Hearts die set.

I think it's so important to have alphabet stamp sets to customize not only sentiments but also to personalize gifts and cards. The "Sweet Script" stamp set is very easy to use and has both upper and lowercase letters, a real must have.

Sunny Studio You Have My Heart Valentine's Day Card by Heidi Criswell (using Stitched Heart Dies, Sweet Script & Sending My Love Stamps).

For this card I stamped and colored the little puppy from the Sending My Love stamp set, then I inked a piece of 5.50 by 4.25 inch cardstock using "distress inks" and them I spritzed them with some water to create some splatters. I cut a white front panel and used the medium size heart from the Stitched Hearts die set to cut a window to set the little puppy.

I heat embossed the sentiment on a piece of velum using gold embossing powder and I also cut some hearts from inked paper and embossed paper using the heart dies from the "Sending my love" stamp set.

The stamps and dies are available for purchase at the Sunny Studio Shop.  I hope you enjoyed this card.  Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a lovely day!

Our next card is a super fun and sunny card by Lori U'ren (you can follow her on instagram at LoriUren) combining the snail from Backyard Bugs with all of the fun images and phrase from Sunny Sentiments and the Sunshine Word die.

I Love the the blue band she created behind the word "sunshine".   She reminded me that I don't always have to stamp in black ink too.  :)

Our last card is a sweet card by Jamie Peters from Not 2 Shabby.  Love her blue and brown color scheme and the cute little freckles she added to the kitty!  :)

Sending My Love & Birthday Wishes Teddy Bear Card with Francine

Hi everyone! Francine here for my first post on the Sunny Studio Stamps blog! Yay!

Today, I’m featuring the newest Sending My Love stamp set and here is my project:

Sunny Studio Stamps Teddy Bear Birthday Card by Francine Vuillème (using Sending My Love & Birthday Smiles stamp sets)

I decided to create a birthday card and I thought bright colors would be perfect for that. I first stamped the bear and I colored him with Copic markers. I then fussy cut and fixed him behind the label where I stamped the “Birthday Wishes” sentiment in black ink. This sentiment is from an older Sunny Studio set called Birthday Smiles.

Sunny Studio Stamps Teddy Bear Birthday Card by Francine Vuillème (using Sending My Love & Birthday Smiles stamp sets)

For more interest and dimension, I decided to add eyelets and fix the label with hemp cord and foam pads to make the focal point pop against the bright patterned paper I used for the background. To finish off my card, I attached all layers together and added small hearts that you can find in the Sending My Love set.

I hope you like what you’ve seen! Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful day!

Sending My Love Valentine's Day Heart Gift Tags with Mendi

Hello there!  I'm back today with a quick set of heart shaped gift tags using the middle sized heart from our Stitched Hearts dies.

Sunny Studio Stamps Valentine's Day Heart Gift Tags (using Stitched Heart Dies, Sweet Script & Sending My Love Stamps)

To decorate each of the tags I stamped a little critter face from our Sending My Love stamp set and then personalized the tag with each of my family's names using our Sweet Script alphabet stamps.

Sunny Studio Stamps Valentine's Day Heart Gift Tag (using Stitched Heart Dies, Sweet Script & Sending My Love Stamps)

To finish off each tag I punched a 1/8" hole in the top corner of each tag and then threaded a little sheer organza ribbon through the hole and tied it off with a twine bow.

Sunny Studio Stamps Valentine's Day Heart Gift Tag (using Stitched Heart Dies, Sweet Script & Sending My Love Stamps)

I wanted to make the stitching stand out a bit more against the patterned paper so I used a white gel pen to trace the stitched lines on the heart.

Sunny Studio Stamps Valentine's Day Heart Gift Tag (using Stitched Heart Dies, Sweet Script & Sending My Love Stamps)

I think these will be a great little extra to tie onto some gifts for my family for Valentine's Day this year!  I hope I've inspired you to make some cute little tags of your own.  ;)

Make sure to stop back by tomorrow.  The amazing Francine will be sharing her debut post as part of our design team.  :)
