Spring Release Date Pushed Back to January 1st

It is with a ton of stress and great sadness that I realize I must push back the release date for our Spring Release by a week and move it to January 1st.  I am still feeling my way through this industry and learning that even when extra padding in timelines is added, the stamp and die manufacturers get overwhelmed and push back their ship dates.

Rather than have you wait so long after you've paid for an order (and to literally help me sleep better at night) I have decided it would be best to move the release date all together.  All next week I will be featuring the new stamps though so I hope you will hold tight and enjoy all the ideas I have to share using them.  :)

For those who have ordered the fishtail banners on pre-order I promise to make those a priority and package those up for shipment the moment they arrive which I'm hoping is just after Christmas.

Big Hugs!

Bundled Up Snowy Night Peguin Christmas Card with Melissa

Hello everyone, Melissa Here!  Today I have a card to share with you using one of my favorite stamp sets of this release, Bundled Up. I love making cute winter scenes, which this little penguin is perfect for!

Sunny Studio Stamps Bundled Up Penguin Winter Holiday Christmas Card by Melissa Bowden.

To create the card for today I first cut a square of white cardstock. I stamped the two penguins with their accessories and masked them off with masking paper, I also masked off a snowy hill underneath them. I then stamped the sentiment above the two penguins with VersaMark ink and heat embossed it using white embossing powder.

I made the sky by first blending several different purple shades of Simon Says Stamp ink together, and then adding little dots with a white gel pen for the snow. I then pealed up the masks and colored the penguins with Copic markers. To finish the card I mounted it onto a piece of white card with a black border. That finishes up the card for today.

We're down to our last few sneak peeks before the stamps and dies are available for purchase on January 1st.  For today's peek, we have another look at the Sending My Love stamp set.  Depending on the choices you make, this fun set can also be stretched to work for Easter and has loads of fun sentiment options revolving around the theme of "sending".

Spring Release Peeks of Backyard Bugs & Sweet Script

Hi there!  I hope you are enjoying one last holiday weekend getting ready for Christmas.  I can't believe how much I still have left to do... I have bought all the ingredients for my holiday baking, but wouldn't it be wonderful it they would just magically assemble themselves?  When life gets busy I would much rather be in my craft studio than in the kitchen and I'm still not sure when I'm going to find the time to squeeze that in but I'm ready when the small window presents itself.  ;)

I thought I would pop in and share a couple more sneak peeks with you.  This first one shows a couple more images from our Backyard Bugs set which includes a separate flower and flowerpot (to be used together or separately), a butterfly, a couple different trails and several fun punny sentiments.

For my second peek we have another look at our Sweet Script Alphabet, this time for the uppercase letters.  This was my first attempt at creating a font from scratch and while it felt daunting, I am really happy with how it turned out.

Here's a little look at the stamp set in action...  I used it for the names on some Christmas tags I created for Pebbles Inc. this past week (the to and from sentiments are by Lawn Fawn).  ;)

Thanks for taking a peek.  I hope you enjoy the rest of your day!

Santa's Helpers Happy Howliday Card with Marion

Hello - it's Marion again with some more inspiration for you using the Santa's Helpers stamp set and the coordinating dies. I've also used the popular Fishtail banners dies to create the focal panel on my card.

I stamped the puppy image and then die cut it before colouring it with Copic markers. I added the dots on the box with a white Uniball Signo gel pen and also added some clear Wink of Stella glitter brush pen to the ribbon. I sewed the banner on with my sewing machine for some added interest.

The sentiment is from the same set and was white heat embossed. The holly was die cut from the Santa's Helpers die set and also colored with Copic markers. The berries are covered with Glossy Accents and add a Christmas element, to a very non-traditional Christmas card.

Santa's Helpers Purrfect Christmas Card with Elise

Hi everyone! It's Elise here to share a fun Christmas card with you that features the Santa's Helpers stamp set and dies! I really like the punny sentiments that are included in this set!

Sunny Studio Santa's Helpers Kitty Cat Christmas Card by Elise Constable

I chose to use the "Wishing you a Purrfect Christmas" sentiment with the cute kitty decorated in Christmas lights! It's hard to tell from the picture, but I added glossy accents to the light bulbs and star to make them shine a little bit. I also used the paw prints stamps to create a fun background along the bottom edge of the card with some green and red inks! I finished the card by adding some Christmas colored sequins and a white bow. Here is a close up on the kitty and the paw print background:

Before I go we have another sneak peek of the day with second look at the Sunny Sentiments set coming soon.   This set includes a second sun image (look familiar?) that can be used with or without the happy face, along with a large cloud and three stars in varying sizes.  You're going to love all the happy sentiments in this set perfect for brightening someone's day!

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a great day! :)

Santa's Helpers: Santa Paws Christmas Card with Audrey

Sunny Studio Santa's Helpers Kitty Cat in Stocking Christmas Card by Audrey Tokach

Hello there!!  Audrey here!  Today I have a card to share with you using the little kitten in a stocking image from the Santa's Helpers stamp set!  I had my distress inks out, and I was playing around with making my own watercolor-esque patterned paper.  I used a bit of Barn Door, Twisted Citron and Lucky Clover to create my striped background.  I intended for this card to look like a Christmas package, wrapped in pretty striped paper, with a cute tag hanging from it.

I stamped, colored and die-cut the stocking image using the coordinating Santa's Helpers dies.  I used Lucky Clover ink to add some color to the bottom right of the tag for a little more interest,  Then I mounted the image onto the tag with foam tape, punched a hole to thread my twine through and tied a bow.  I wrapped the twine around the back of the watercolor piece, taped it down with scotch tape and popped the tag up with foam tape before adhering the panel to a red card base.  I felt like something was missing so I added some tiny googly eyes to the kitten.  I think his wide eyes add a bit of whimsy and it works well with the playful, whimsical striped background.

Santa Paws

That's all for me today!  I hope you liked my card.

For the sneak peek of the day we have another look at some of the images from the new Rain or Shine stamp set being released on December 26th.  You may use this umbrella together with the puppy dog shared earlier, pair it with some clouds or even use it on it's own for bridal and baby shower cards.

Please be sure to stop back by again tomorrow for even more inspiration from the design team!  Thanks for stopping by! :)

Santa's Helpers Have a Purrfect Christmas Card with Heidi

Hello everybody!  Heidi here welcoming you back to the Sunny Studio Stamps blog.  I am hoping that all your holiday preparations are going great! Today I am sharing a card using the "Santa's helpers" stamp and its coordinated die set.  It's a lovely holiday stamp set that features kittens and puppies.

Sunny Studio Stamps Santa's Helpers Puppy Dog Christmas Card by Heidi Criswell.

I stamped, die-cut, colored the images and then added some details with a white gel pen. I used one of the "Fishtail Banner dies" to created a banner for the front panel and I partially die cut a circle on the banner to set the scene. I adhered to the front of the card and images using foam adhesive and then as a finishing touch added some clear sequins.

The "Santa helpers" stamps and dies are available on the Sunny Studio Shop, as well as the "Fishtail Banner" dies.  We can't wait to see your creations, using the Santa's helpers stamps!

For today's sneak peek we have a second look at the Sending My Love stamp set being released on December 26th.  As you can see you have a number of options for different animals and hands holding different objects.  By switching out what the critters are holding this set can work for birthdays (or even Christmas) depending on how you color them and what you pair with them.

Santa's Helpers Merry & Bright Puppy Dog Card by Melissa

Hello everyone, Melissa here. Today I have a clean and simple card to share with you using the Santa’s Helpers stamp set and coordinating dies. This die set not only comes with the dies to cut out the little critters but it also comes with some bonus word dies, which are amazing!  I decided to use some of these for my card today.

Sunny Studio Santa's Helpers Puppy Dog in Gift Box Holiday Christmas Card by Melissa Bowden.

To make my card I first laid the merry & bright dies out where I wanted them on a piece of white cardstock, held them in place with some post it tape and ran them through my Big Shot. I also die cut an arch out of the top of the card with a hill border die. I then stuck this piece of card on top of a piece of patterned paper. After that I had to stick the tiny pieces of the die back in place to make the negative space in the middle of some of the letters.

Once that was done I stamped the little dog in the gift box from the stamp set. I colored him in using Copic markers and added little dots to the gift box with a gel pen. To finish off the card I mounted it onto a piece of black card stock.

I hope you enjoyed the card for today!  While you're here we also would like to share with you our sneak peek of the day with another look at some of the images from "A Good Egg".  This set was designed with scene building in mind.  The little bow tie can be stamped on the little chick or left off.

Sunny Saturday Share: Red, Black & White Christmas Cards

Happy Saturday!  Can you believe we're only 12 days away from Christmas Eve?  That's crazy, right?  Well, we have two really cute Christmas cards to share to inspire you in your holiday card making.

Up first is a darling shaker card using our Santa's Helpers stamp set by Cindy Horvath over at the Mod Squad Challenge blog.  I am in love with her red, black and white color scheme and the cute way she heat embossed her background with the alternating paw prints and snowflakes!

Up next we have a super cute card by Nikosinas using our Bundled Up stamp set. Isn't her use of negative space with her snowflake background so much fun?!

I hope you will leave these ladies some much deserved love and as always we would love to see your lovely creations using our stamps and dies.  You just might be the next person to be featured here on our Sunny Saturday Share.  ;)

Before I leave you today, it's time for another sneak peek at our Spring Release coming out on December 26th.  This is a second look at our stamp set called Backyard Bugs with a toadstool house, mushroom, a caterpillar and some fun little ladybugs.  I created my first card with this set earlier this week and I am loving all the scene building possibilities!  :)

I hope the rest of your weekend is happy!

Snow Kissed Penguin Snowflakes Card with Marion

Hello again. It's Marion here and I appreciate you dropping in on the Sunny Studio blog today. All week the DT have been creating with the Snow Kissed stamp set and today I have some more inspiration for you.

I started by stamping the penguin on the sled and die cutting it with its coordinating die. I die cut two of the images and adhered them together as it is suspended across the window opening on the front of the card, and I wanted it to be more sturdy. The window is a partial die cut of a circle die.

It's a bit easier to see the window opening in this photo. The image was coloured with Copic Markers and these little guys are so much fun to colour!

I stamped some subtle snowflakes from the same set in Versamark ink on the card front, before adhering some of the snowflakes die cuts from white card stock from the coordinating die set.

For the sneak peek of the day, we have a look at a new alphabet set coming soon called "Sweet Script".  This fun set is perfect for creating your own custom sentiments ( which is particularly helpful if English isn't your native language) and also for personalizing your projects and scrapbooks.  :)

Thanks for visiting today,

2015 Winter Coffee Lovers Blog Hop

Welcome!  I'm thrilled to be a sponsor for the Winter Coffee Lovers Blog Hop!  You should be arriving here from SugarPea Designs or if you are just joining in, you can start at the beginning of the hop HERE.

In honor of the hop I created a special digital stamp set (Please note the digital version is no longer available, but will be available as a stamp set called Mug Hugs on 10/7/16).   I personally am a sucker for a good cup of hot cocoa so I wanted to make sure to create some images that could go either way, along with some fun sentiments to match.

2015 Winter Coffee Lovers Blog Hop: Sunny Studio Hot Cocoa Shaped card using Hot Drinks~Warm Hearts Digital Stamp

To take advantage of the fact that digital stamps can be sized to whatever size you like, I decided to create a couple of shaped cards by enlarging the images.  Up first is a cup of hot cocoa.  Since I printed these on a regular ink jet printer, I knew the inks could run with Copic Markers and other wet pens so I chose to print them onto some fun Doodlebug patterned papers instead.

2015 Winter Coffee Lovers Blog Hop: Sunny Studio Coffee Shaped card using Hot Drinks~Warm Hearts Digital Stamp

For my third card I used a more traditional approach to the digital stamps.  Another bonus to digital images is the ability to easily mirror the image so I used that to create this fun card which I printed out on my laser printer and colored with Copic Markers.

For my card background I imported the PNG version of the heart file and changed the fill color to a khaki to do a tone-on-tone print on my Neenah Desert Storm cardstock and then accentuated them with a E42 Copic Marker.

I couldn't resist creating one final card with the last image in the set.  I colored the mug to match my Doodlebug paper from their 6x6 Santa's Express pad, adding a little sparkle to the whipped cream using Stardust Stickles.

I hope you will join the blog hop and share your fun coffee, tea and hot cocoa inspired projects.  There are lots of prizes up for grabs for those who play along.  You can Link your projects at the start of this hop at the Coffee Lover Blog.  :)

Your next stop in the hop is The Ton.  I'm sure you're in for something amazing (I'm always a huge fan of all their gorgeous creations).

Thanks so much for stopping by.  :)

Snow Kissed Ice Skating Penguin Card with Elise

Hi everyone! It's Elise again to share a fun card that features the Snow Kissed stamp set and dies!

The penguin and ice are stamped onto white card stock and colored with Primsacolor pencils. I also really liked the extra snowflake dies that are included in the die set, so I cut those from white card stock to decorate around the image. For a fun detail, I added clear stickles to the snowflakes and ice! Here is close up on the penguin and glittery snowflakes:

Before I go here's a peek at a new die set coming soon.  This 4-1/2" wide by 4-1/4" high set has hearts of all sizes and creates stitched lines for both the negative and positive spaces,  making it perfect for creating shaped card bases, shaker cards, heart tags and other embellishments!  This die along with the rest of the Spring release will be available for sale on December 26th.

Thanks for stopping by! Stop by again tomorrow for some more inspiration featuring the Snow Kissed stamp set and another sneak peek! :)

Snow Kissed and Sledding card with Audrey

Hi there! Audrey here!  I've really been into purple for winter scenes lately, which it not usual for me, but I'm enjoying it while it lasts! :)  I just love the sledding penguin from the Snow Kissed stamp set, and since I hadn't used him yet, I figured it was time!

I watercolored a piece of Tim Holtz Distress Watercolor paper with Shaded Lilac and Wilted Violet distress inks, with a hint of the darker purple coming up from behind the snowy hill.  I stamped, colored, and die-cut the penguin with the coordinating Snow Kissed die set.  I popped him up on the hill using foam tape, and stamped a sentiment, also from the Snow Kissed stamp set.  Finally, I stamped some periwinkle snowflakes before adding a scattering of sequins.  There are no rules in card making right? *wink*

That's it for me today!  Hope you enjoyed my card!

For today's peek at our Spring release we have a first look at a stamp set called "Sunny Borders".  This set is filled with 5 unique borders (which will coordinate with matching dies), 2 shadow stamps, a versatile banner and one sentiment.  It's an all around great basic set whether you're new to stamping or have been doing this a long time.  :)

Be sure to stop back by tomorrow for more inspiration from the design team!  Have a great day!!

Snow Kissed Winter Penguins Card with Heidi

Hello everybody, Heidi here.  Welcome to the Sunny Studio Blog!  This week we are introducing the "Snow Kissed" stamp and its coordinated die set. I had to create this card with these adorable penguins having fun in the snowy hills!

For my card I stamped the penguin on the sled and the penguin on the skates, coloring them with Copic Markers.  I then created a winter scene using some snowy hills and mountains and framed them using some patterned paper.

I hand drew some string from the skater penguin to the sled, so it looks like the skater penguin is pulling the sled up the hill. You could also use real twine whichI think would be neat.  The "Snow Kissed" stamps and coordinated die are available at the Sunny Studio Stamp shop.

Before I go, we have another sneak peek to share with you.  Today is a look at a set designed to coordinating with yesterday's peek called "Sunny Sentiments".  All the images and sentiments are based around the word SUNSHINE!  This is going to be a great staple that will work with so many other sets and is perfect for scene building!

(Available for purchase on December 26th).

I hope you enjoyed today's card and I wish you a lovely day!

Snow Kissed Skiing Penguins Christmas Card with Melissa

Hello everyone, Melissa here. Today I have a card to share with you using the Snow Kissed stamp set, one of my favorites!

To create this card I first die-cut a circle out of white cardstock.  I then stamped the greeting at the top of the circle in some Versamark ink and heat embossed it with white embossing powder. I stamped the two penguins at the bottom and then masked them off so I could ink up the background. I added ink mostly to the outside of the circle and worked my way in getting progressively lighter. I removed the masks from the penguins and colored them with Copic markers. To finish off the card I added it to a white card base with some green patterned paper.

I hope you enjoyed the card for today.    Before I go, I wanted to share a little peek of some images from a new stamp set coming soon called Rain or Shine.  :)

Don’t forget to check back and see what the other creative team members have created this week! Thanks for stopping by!

Sharing Some Sunny Studio Spring Release Sneak Peeks

We've started to share sneak peeks for our Spring release over on Facebook, but I know not everyone is on facebook so I thought I would share our first three peeks over here on the blog as well.  :)

Up first is a set that was inspired by a little snail my 9-year old daughter drew.  I was so taken with the personality of her drawing that I asked if you would mind if I used him for a jumping off point for a spring set that together we named "Backyard Bugs".  I can't wait for you to see all the other fun images in this set!

Our next set is perfect for Easter and it's called "A Good Egg".  All the images and sentiments will play on the egg theme.  It's been a lot of fun to design with and I think you're going to love all the possibilities this set has to offer.  :)

Our last peek is called "Sending My Love" and is filled with with infinite possibilities.  I don't want to give it all away just yet, but there are lots of options to make Valentines as well as cards for everyday occasions.  If you love Bundled Up I think you're going to fall head over heals for this set!  :)

All these sets plus much more will go on sale the day after Christmas on December 26th so make sure to mark your calendars and save up your Christmas money.  ;) I will be back next week with some more peeks.

Big Hugs!
