Guest Designer Spotlight: Bunnyville Cards with Megan Quinn

Hello! This is Megan Quinn and I am thrilled to be guest designing for Sunny Studio Stamps today! I have created two projects to share with you featuring the Bunnyville Stamp Set. This set is packed full of the sweetest little bunnies and accessories that are perfect for scene building or creating a more cute and simple design. I really love the beautiful script sentiment too!

For my first card, I stamped images from Bunnyville using alcohol friendly ink onto white cardstock and colored them using Copic Markers. I then used the coordinating dies to cut the images out. 

Next, I ink blended a scene for the bunnies to frolic about in. Using dye inks and a blending brush, I created an adorable little farm. I stamped the sentiment using the same ink that I stamped the bunnies with once the panel was completely dry. Using, liquid glue and glue dots, I adhered the images to the focal panel.

For the backdrop, I used the Quilted Hearts Portrait Die. It die cuts such a pretty pattern that allows you to layer cardstock behind to give a beautiful contrasting color to compliment any design. I added a bit of ink blending the edges to give the kraft cardstock a bit more depth and interest.

My second project combines one of my favorite interactive die sets, the Sliding Window Dies. It creates a fun, interactive element that will still travel through the mail well. 

I started this design just like the first one by stamping images from Bunnyville, coloring them using Copic Markers, and using the coordinating dies. I then die cut the pieces needed to make the sliding window mechanism from white cardstock. I chose to ink blend this project as well to avoid having layers that would interfere with the sliding motion of the window.

After the panels dried, I adhered the images using liquid glue to the front panel. I was careful to only adhere the images close to the center fold line below where the window folds up. This allows the images to stand up once the slider is pulled. I also stamped the sentiment on the back panel before attaching the front panel with foam adhesive.

For even more fun, I used thin strips of acetate to suspend one of the butterflies and the carrot balloon. This is such an easy technique and really adds that extra wow factor. I have found that glue dots work really well to attach the strips to the images.

Critters On The Go Cards with Vanessa and Audrey

Hello to you! Vanessa here with a slimline card using the fun set Critters on the Go.

I trimmed a panel of white cardstock slightly smaller than the card base and masked off the bottom. Now I applied Peacock Feathers Distress Oxide ink and stamped the houses from Charming City. After I had removed the mask, I adhered the panel to the card. Then I stamped the images, colored them with Copics, die-cut the elements with the matching dies and adhered the pieces with foam tape. 

I die-cut the Happy Word from black cardstock and added it to the card. Finally, I stamped and heat-embossed the sentiment from Happy Thoughts onto a strip of black cardstock, trimmed it and adhered it with foam tape.

Hello Friends! Audrey here with some Critters on the Go!  

To create my card, I started off with a piece of white cardstock cut to 4" x 5.25". I masked off the bottom 1/3 of the panel and used a cloud stencil from my stash along with some Broken China Distress ink to add some clouds to my sky. Then, I reversed the mask and used some Mowed Lawn Distress ink to add some grass to the panel. I stamped and colored the little dog and one of the scooters from Critters on the Go and diecut them with the coordinating Critters on the Go dies. 

I knew I wanted to make this a birthday card, so I pulled out the Heart Bouquet stamp set and colored the balloons in a bunch of bright colors, then diecut them with the Heart Bouquet dies. I stamped a sentiment from Critters on the go onto a white banner die cut, and popped that up under the little scene. To finish off the card, I added some white gel pen accents and a scattering of yellow stars die cut using the Basic Mini Shapes II dies. Finally, I mounted the panel on a piece of fun striped paper from the Rainbow Bright 6x6 paper pad.

Cherry Blossoms Cards with Marine

Hi crafty friends, Marine here, today I'm featuring the gorgeous Cherry Blossoms stamp set on a pretty and elegant shaker card. I started off by stamping all the flowers, and to help me in this task, I followed the numbers on the stamp set, as well as the guide on the Cherry Blossoms page.

I used distress oxide inks to create the flowers: spun sugar, worn lipstick, festive berries and aged mahogany, and Lawn Fawn inks for the stems. Feel welcome to check the video below to watch the whole layering process.

Once all the flowers were done, I moved on to the background. I cut a 5,5 x 4,25" panel out of a raspberry pink cardstock and I added details and texture on this plain panel using the Quilted Heart Portrait die. And then I attached my panel on a white panel.

Next I created the shaker. I used the second Stitched Arch die to cut a window out of my panel. I applied liquid glue at the back, attached a piece of acetate, and next I added foam strips at the back of the panel, as well as all around the arch window.

I added sequins and jewels inside the window, and attached a light pink panel on the foam strips to totally close the shaker panel. Next I cut the Eiffel tower using the coordinating die from Paris Afternoon and attached it in the middle of the arch window using foam squares, and stuck flowers at the bottom of the arch.

I added more flowers at the top on each side of the arch window, and for my sentiment, I die cut a red banner using a die from Stitched Rectangles, and white heat embossed the phrase "Thinking of you" from Critters on the Go. I tucked the banner under the flowers at the bottom, and finally I added a few clear jewels here and there for an extra touch of shine.

Spring Greenery Cards with Franci and Gladys

Hello there! It's Franci here today with you, with a card featuring the Spring Greenery Dies.

First of all I created my card base out of white cardstock and I inked the front with blue and yellow distress inks starting from the left bottom to the right top and fading into white.

Then I took a piece of watercolor paper and I colored it with Distress inks with the ink smooshing technique. I smooshed the ink pads onto a clear plastic sheet, sprayed them with some water, pressed my watercolor cardstock into the ink and let the cardstock dry completely.

I die cut it with the Spring Greenery Dies and displayed all the leaves onto the front of my card. I added my sentiment from the Lovely Dovey set + coordinated dies and I secured everything down with liquid glue. Finally I added some clear droplets as embellishments here and there.

Happy Wednesday! Gladys here and I'm back with a pretty in pink card using the Spring Greenery dies in a different way!

To start, I ink blended on a piece of panel cut from Bristol smooth cardstock. I used the colors picked raspberry and tattered rose distress oxide inks. I added some water droplets and diluted picked raspberry to the panel using a small paint brush. While I let the panel dry I used the Frilly Frames Lattice to cut from white cardstock. I adhered it onto the inked panel using liquid glue.

 

I stamped two flamingos and some flowers from Fabulous Flamingo stamp set then colored them with copic markers. I used the coordinating dies to cut them out. I also used the leaves from Spring Greenery to cut from light teal cardstock. I wanted to frame the flamingos so I arranged the leaves on opposite corners and glued them down. I added the flowers in the center using foam tape for some dimension. Then I adhered both flamingos in the middle also backing them with foam tape. To complete the card I white heat embossed the sentiment on black cardstock and adhered it to the top left corner.

Paris Afternoon Card with Kavya

Hi folks, Kavya here. I am back on the blog with another card! This one is inspired by the movie - Ratatouille. It’s set in Paris and the new Paris Afternoon stamp set is just perfect for recreating it! 

I first started off by ink blending an A2 sized cardstock using Dusty Concord and Speckled Egg distress oxide inks. For the land and grass, I used colored cardstock and Slimline Nature Border Dies. 

Then I stamped and colored a bunch of images from Paris Afternoon, Charming City, Summer Sweets (I converted the soda into a wine bottle!), Fast Food Fun, Bountiful Autumn, Blissful Baking and Harvest Mice (I know it’s not rats but still lol) stamp set. 

Arrange all the images on the card base, add a sentiment and you are done!
